Hyatt Place Wilmington Riverfront

Very good breakfast, i never ate in the bar at night so I can't comment on the food but during the 7 nights I was there I didn't see anyone eating there. That might have something to do with the huge portions you get for lunch. Some nice places to eat all within 5 minutes walk of the hotel and there is a lovely riverside walk at the back of the hotel. Across the road is a baseball stadium and an Imax cinema. I was there for my sons graduation in Newark so didn't spend a lot of time in Wilmington but what I saw of it it looked nice and was only a 35 minute ride from Philly airport.

I was on the 2nd floor had zero views (looked at a wall for 7 nights) so try and get a bit higher up if you can. The waitress at breakfast was a bit too keen, I put my glass of juice down and went for food, came back and she'd cleared it up.

Breakfast was fine, pretty location on the waterfront with a small strip of stores nearby. Need a car or taxi to get downtown

When I checked in, they gave me a room and the keys wouldn’t work. It sounded like someone was in the room they just gave me so I went downstairs and told the front desk but they said I was wrong and gave me new keys. Those keys didn’t work again and turns out the room was occupied. This was a bit flustering as I was carrying multiple luggages up and down the stairs and interrupted another guests stay. They ended up giving me a room right above that on the third floor and offered a water bottle as an apology. At that point I just wanted my room..

Location!

I had 2 reservations, 1 for each night. At check-in, I explained about the 2 reservations and asked if they could arrange it so I wouldn’t have to switch rooms. The clerk said sure! Fast forward to next afternoon when I returned on night 2 and found my key card didn’t work at the side entrance so I went to the front desk again. Keep in mind, I left early that morning, & left everything of mine in the room. She told me I was checked out. i explained about what transpired the night before. Fortunately the clerk was able to give me that same room for the 2nd night. This could have had a very different outcome. Otherwise, no complaints.

Everything was great bed was extra comfy veiw of the river was amazing.

2 things. This could just be a personal thing but if me and my wife only had two pillows each. Usually we're kicking pillows off the bed. And the second (this has nothing to de with the staff or the hotel but the restaurant Big Fish Grill. We ordered some food and they failed to tell us one of the items we ordered they don't even sell anymore. And we ordered 4 sushi rolls, on the recipe it shows 2 but when we received our order it there was no sushi and they gave us the wrong dessert.

Breakfast exceeded our expectations! Eggs, hashbrowns, tortillas, various breads for toasting, multiple cereals, yogurt bar, several ice-cold juices.... perfect for adults AND kids! Best breakfast bar we've seen included at hotel for a long time!

Zero complaints. The hotel was immaculately clean, our room was spacious with a wonderful view of the river. The river walk is peaceful, restaurants and microbrew in easy walking distance. AWESOME in every way!

The facility and staff are quite amazing and were very interested in making my stay as comfortable as possible. The dining hall staff were quite exceptional in providing anything necessary to make breakfast a great start of the day. Kudos to "Red". She knows who I mean. Thanks and Ill be back soon.

The rooms did not have microwaves and the refrigerators were not cold enough. Our pullout couch had smelly sheets so I figured they forgot because not a lot of guests use the pullouts. But they quickly provided clean blankets and sheets. I did however rhink they should have put them on the bed and take away the old ones.

This has been my 4th stay at this particular hotel, its always clean, staff Is very helpful, I like the location because its near everything, the bathroom decor is beautiful, sofa bed is very comfy.

I disliked the fact that my room didn't include a microwave, for the price I paid a microwave should be included in the room, the wifi kept going in and out, and the eggs they served for breakfast tasted like powdered eggs, other than that the breakfast was great.

I liked how I asked for a bottle of wine 🍷 and chocolate to surprise my partner and it was already up and waiting at the room...thanks guys

I liked everything. Wish u guys had whirlpools or jacuzzis in some rooms or offered a swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool. Other than that Hyatt is a great hotel especially this one in Wilmington delaware at the riverfront...

we loved how close the hotel was to our ultimate destination, and surrounding eateries.

I was not pleased with the service provided by one of the front desk personnel. She profiled my family. she questioned my husband on if he was staying there, made comments about having our truck towed away because he was doubled parked in the unload zone (where guest are supposed to be able to offload their belongings to stay there—and I was pregnant at the time). However, she did not give this same energy to the other guest of the opposite race. What made it so bad is that she was of the same race as us. We weren’t loud. we didn’t ask for special or additional accommodations. We came and stayed in our room.

The layout was all useful space for individual or guests to come in. I'm used to a room that divides the sleeping area from the living area and the TV is in the middle. This layout makes much more sense with everything just being open and accessible. Access to the riverfront provided an excellent walk as well as easy access to the Amtrak station.

The elliptical in the gym is screwed up. The two legs move as one instead of individually. Makes for a fun ride but doesn't work for the workout it's supposed to provide.
