The room was awesome. Nice and big with a great deck. While we had our ocean view partially blocked by a large cruise ship 3 of the 4 days we were there, we expected it, and they were gone by 1:30 one day and 5:00 on the other days. We really weren't in our room during the day anyway, so no problem.

The one time we went to the bar, the bartender seemed annoyed that we were there and took a while to even acknowledge us. It was later in the evening, but there were still several people in the restaurant.

The location was great! Close to all of the entertainment and excitement yet far away for a chill vibe. We loved this stay a lot. Forgive us, we forgot the names at the Opal.. the evening concierge was great, he gave us excellent recommendations on great eats and the night concierge.. she was helpful, friendly and professional, she booked our taxi to the airport. Jas, Sashana and Enoch at the Latitudes on Sunset were just amazing. We can not forget the manager at the gift shop at the Opal who was so accommodating. Thank you all for a memorable experience! We will definitely be back!

Nothing really but we would suggest more options to have multiple visits to the Sunset Key as needed.

This is the best location in Key West! You can walk everywhere you want to go and get there even faster if you rent a bike. This property is pretty pricey - maybe because we were part of the spring breakers, but it is the most expensive hotel room I have paid for. But, for comfort, location, view, and pool it is worth it.

I wish the outdoor dining could be a little more special due to the price of the food. Also, they need to advertise their sunset deck more as the perfect place to watch the sunset. It is better than Mallory Square. They could capitalize on this space with music, drinks, etc. So, watch the sunset from this deck!

Beautiful resort! perfect location, steps from Duval & Mallory square...delicious restaurant with sea views, friendly staff, easy check-in, the room amenities from the slippers, thoughtful umbrellas, Nespresso maker to the shower cap (which I was grateful for) made me smile!

the only small thing was that my ground floor room was okay but noisy from guests next door, hallway and from the pool which was steps away. imagined that I would get a higher floor rom with balcony that overlooked the pool instead of adjacent.

Coffee is nespresso, yay! Room is super clean, staff is super, location is great.

Cloth headboards sb wood, booking dot com rate was $100. Higher than hotel direct. Booking makes it impossible to rate match! Asking about a meal plan which isn't in our rate. Plus asking for a web link to the hotel quoted rate? I called hotel by phone, no web link. Booking customer service should call them to check. But I got nowhere twice when I wrote them. Never using Booking again, I won't forget this. $100. Difference (yes, including all tax and fees) is alot of money.

Considering the location, I thought that this was an excellent value. Beautiful grounds that were decorated for Christmas, close to everything, spacious room, and friendly staff.

Only negative was that our ocean front room was blocked each day by massive cruise ships. I apparently missed the warning in the description so I don't fault the property, but something to consider if you opt to spend extra on that type of view room. Not horrible, but something to be aware of when you pick your room type.

The location was excellent. Not on Duval Street which would have been too crowded and loud, but very close. I like being on the water, even if was just the marina. The hotel was excellent. They provided unlimited water and coffee versus nickel and diming you in come commissary. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The service at the pool and the pool itself was fantastic.

The location overlooking the Gulf of Mexico was excellent; the staff were friendly and attentive; the room was nicely appointed and spacious; the resort is located on the doorstep of the Key West old town with many shops, restaurants and bars.

Unfortunately, the resort is located where massive cruise ships dock on a daily basis, so the view out over the Gulf of Mexico was mostly blocked out from about 7AM to 4 or 5PM, however the ships did leave just prior to sunset, thankfully; I expected the cruise ships to be there but didn't realize how annoying there presence would be. Also, the decor in the corridors seemed very outdated and worn, although there was evidence that the resort is undergoing renovations, so hopefully they will update the corridors during that revovation project.

The hotel has an excellent location. It is very close to tourist attractions and bars/restaurants. Being on the marina meant there were many sunsets to watch every evening we stayed. The pool is maintained at a comfortable temperature and the hot tub will not disappoint.

For the amount paid for the stay having an included breakfast or complimentary drink (i.e. Marriott) would have made it a better value. When you factor in your room plus resort fee it's apparent there is a value gap that the Opal could strive better to fill.

The Opal is in the perfect location for this family of 4. We booked a standard room, but were give a were in a pool side room when we checked in! the room was extremely quiet when the doors were closed, and view of the tropical canopy and sounds of pool side music added a relaxing vacation vibe when open. The hotel is stumbling distance from all the action in Mallory Square, Duval, and all of old town Key West, plus it's steps from the marina for taking in the sunset and access to all the water excursions you could want. The on site restaurant was very good, and offered extremely quick room service. They were also very welcoming to our dog, even if the daily pet fee of $75 was a little steep.

There were a few small, well worn, issues in our room (bathroom doors didn’t close smoothly, fridge door seal wouldn’t stay closed) but they were nothing that impacted our stay in any meaningful way.
