Key West Resort - Lake Dora

Well thought out resort concept with a lot of bars, restaurants and little shops either right there on property or within walking distance. Surprisingly beautiful, quaint little town with a nice waterfront area too. Spacious interior to the room with more than enough room for everything. Nice spot for a relaxing getaway or staycation, where you feel like miles away from the rest of the world.

Was a little complicated getting over to my building and getting in and out of the place, but once settled, it was all good. When I saw complimentary hot breakfast, I made sure to check that out, but it was more of a grab & go concept with items like microwaveable breakfast burritos and sandwiches and cereal, bagels, etc. Wasn’t bad, but not what I expected.

Balcony looked out onto the lake which was about 1 block away without obstruction. Wooten park was within walking distance as were pubs and restaurants. Location was great to a quick trip to Mt. Dora only 8 miles or so. Breakfast was good. Choices were cereal waffles, egg burritos pastries oatmeal everything prepackaged. Room was spacious but could use some update and more furniture .

Room had several issues, bathroom some of the towels were questionable as if really clean or just well worn. Only 2 chairs in the room and no side table to put a drink on. Microwave wasn't cleaned and really didn't rotate the plate kept slipping off the holder. Basics like remote for TV no batteries! Room was above a pub so music was continuous until 1 a.m. on a Friday night

We went to Key West resort as we were on our way to Ocala for the week and wanted to rest overnight in a place that was out of the way and outside of busy Orlando. We were pleasantly surprised as we knew nothing about the area. We visited one of the local bars, suggested by the front desk girl who was very nice and helpful, and enjoyed our dinner outside overlooking the lake. The area is lovely with plenty to do, even for us retirees.

Someone threw up in the elevator overnight so that was unpleasant in the morning but so minor an issue. Key West Resort was just was we expected.

It was a good little start to the day. For mostly non hot it had a nice selection. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms big.

We stay in the initial bldg. directly on the lake ( where I have stayed for last 4 years) . The outdoor chairs on the balcony are coming unsewn on the sides and can completely tear with the occupant falling to the ground . Need repair badly. No light bulb on poarch Clock had no plug and wasn't functional. Bathrooms have no place to hang ANY towels or put toiletries.

Ivy at the front desk with a smile and treated us like family and our room was ready early as needed so we could get to our wedding rehearsal dinner

The key to our room didn't work the 2nd night and had to be programmed. There was also 2 really Loud bands one above us on the roof and other on the ground level and played until 10:30 pm and we had to get up early the next morning

Location to nightlife is great. Walking distance to numerous nightlife options

Location to nightlife. Which means if you are looking for a quiet night with no noise this isn't the best choice. Lots of people coming in late from partying and tend to make a lot of noise. If your one of them and don't mind people having a fun night, great. If your plan is bed by 8pm probably not great. I'm in the 1st group though. Wife wasn't feeling good one night and thought neighbors were being inconsiderate at 2 am.

We enjoyed our stay. We really liked the view of the lake from our balcony along with the sunset sunrise. We really liked that we could walk to the resturants and bars. Very clean and spacious room. We will stay here again and recommend it to others

I am a short person and it was difficult to get into bed. I know several people who complain about the tall beds. Need a foot stool. Also the paint on the dresser needed to be touched up. Otherwise no complaints.

We had a great experience and the two bedroom suite was perfect for our business needs. We were able to have a mobile office with ample kitchen space to cook and feel at home.

There were a lot of flies and spiders. Not sure what can be done, really, as the room was otherwise clean and is likely a result of the substantial sliding doors/windows.

The location is wonderful! Almost all the rooms have a large balcony facing the lake with lots of options for dining and fun within walking distance. It’s a short drive into Mount Dora along the beautiful lakeside. The rooms are large and very clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They went out of their way to return the Nook that I had left in the room.

We were not the only people who thought this is a fun place to be so it’s not the most peaceful place. Especially at night when the “fun” people are out. The outdoor bar across the street is really fun until you’re ready to go to sleep and people are still partying. With that being said, we felt the positives outweighed the negatives and we will be back!

Sydney the front desk associate was amazing! She accommodated our needs and went above and beyond her responsibilities. My AC wasn’t working when we arrived, she immediately had maintenance take care of the issue, though it never worked, she switched my room and put me into a better location with a better view of the lake. The town is amazing and the people are great! This location is conveniently located near great food and drinks! Will visit again! Omg the rooftop view is to die for.
