Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tavares, an IHG Hotel

Gisela at the reception desk was very efficient and pleasant. She was able to check me in a bit early and took extra time with me since my Booking.com reservation was not forwarded to the hotel. My room exceeded my expectations. The bathroom was newly remodeled and the lighting was excellent. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I loved the pillows! I was so surprised at the breakfast and all the cold and hot choices. There were scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon and biscuits and gravy. The lady in the breakfast room even came and told me she put out more bacon since she noticed there was hardly any left when I went through the line. The location was great and for dinner I walked over to Hurricane Grill which is in the adjoining parking lot.

Room is nice and modern. Lots of USB ports. Clean and comfortable. Love the lotion/soap dispensers in the bathroom.

Breakfast. At 8:30 in the morning, it was empty as in no food basically. Breakfast is served through 10am and I had to wait 25 minutes for powdered eggs to be made and brought out. No Eggs, potatoes, Sausage, Ham, Biscuits, coffee. All were empty. One lady having to prepare all the food and keep up. The hotel was fully booked with no vacancy so management should have stepped in to assist her in preparing food and keeping things stocked. Also, pancake machine does not have accurate instructions to use.

Breakfast was good. Location is close to Wooten Park, which is why we were there. Location is convenient to restaurants and even Publix. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is larger and has a great make up mirror - unheard of in a hotel. We had an end room which gave us 2 windows to let the light in. Last but not least, the staff was very accomodating.

The A/C was noisey. Every time the fan turned on it clunked. Might need to be checked. Room 302. Wish breakfast was longer.

Great location very convenient to Tavares, Eustis, Leesburg, Mt Dora area. Property is well kept. That staff was WONDERFUL! I felt very welcomed and appreciated. The hotel was clean and everything was well stocked. The breakfast was very good and the layout of the food service area was well thought out. I'll stay there again!

I didn't find anything that I didn't like.

The breakfast was okay. I would have preferred instant oatmeal over already made oatmeal. The fruit offered was not to my satisfaction..(3 less than enticing apples)and it would have been nice to have some yogurt offered in the breakfast selection.

I had to wipe down my room because I found sticky residue on the bedside table. If it was there, I wanted to make sure it would not be on the bench where I set my luggage. I could not find any extra light blankets in the room. The comforter was too heavy.

Breakfast was good and plenty of it many choices

Not complaining- but the buffet area was kind of hot ( understandable) - I don’t usually eat turkey sausage but tried it - a little dry - maybe a characteristic but okay with sausage gravy !

the room was clean. We had a room with 2 queen beds and they were both ahd different feeling mattresses . I was able to sleep in the softer one and my husband liked the firmer one. We also both loved the shower head in the bathroom. That was amaizng!! never had i experience that in any over night stay . Great choice!!

in the lobby , the staff was never by the desk.. they only came out if someone needed something or checking in. we only saw them the next morning early when we were checking out. Also the one and only elevator had a banana peel on the floor all day and no one cleaned it up till the next morning and there was a very large spider and web right over head and we had to tell the gentleman in the elevator with us to move over... the very large spider was right over his head and we were afraid for him.

We arrived late and were traveling for a sports tournament. They made the accommodation that I had requested and were very friendly. The beds were soft - I have a bad back, so this was perfect for me. The shower pressure was great and so was the temperature. No issues in the room at all. Breakfast was good too. I didn't partake, but my daughter did. It was a hot breakfast and plenty to go around. We only stayed there one night, but we will go back for the next tournament in a few months.

There was nothing to not like.

The hotel was well kept and comfy. I was more surprised by the staff. The gentleman that checked me in was nice but the ladies the next day did not even acknowledge me for check out

The hotel is quiet even though it is on a busy highway and it is convenient to a very good restaurant.

Coffee maker in room didn't work and there was no light on the desk.
