A lot of care is being put into running this place and you as a guest can feel it. The breakfasts in the morning were incredible and private with abundance of breakfast varieties. The hosts are very friendly and easy to contact, they also have good recommendations for the area. There is a small fireplace to enjoy during cold nights. You are very close to the National Park and some restaurants (still driving distance). Arriving before the tour busses can make the national park experience much better. Overall, one of the best experiences we have had. If we would return, it would be to this same place.
The mattress should be replaced in due time.

The pics in Booking.com and Kilauea House website didn't do justice. The place was better than the pics. My wife and I stayed in the "Nene" room and we loved it. Pam & Dean, the hosts, did a great job with the room decor. The little fine touches were very nice plus the goodies (like nuts, candies, pastries, cereals, granolas, fruits etc). The mini-fridge was well stocked - good quality yogurt, juice, butter, cheese, milk, creamer, boiled eggs, microwaveable eggs, soda etc. Of course, the place is very comfy and clean. We enjoyed the lanai/terrace (with propane firepit table) facing the rainforest. It was clear when we were there so star gazing was fantastic. The Volcano National Park entrance is about a 6 minute drive and Volcano Winery is just a mile away. The Kileaue House was an excellent value for the money. We highly recommend this place to all our friends who want to visit the Volcano National Park

Pam & Dean, our hosts & our guest suite, were EXCEPTIONAL! Ultra clean, well laid-out, nicely decorated, and hosts provided everything guests would need during a vacation. Their offerings greatly exceeded our expectations. One of the BEST B&Bs we have stayed in. A super "10"!.
We liked all aspects of this B&B. Hosts spent a lot of time and effort in making their offering exceptional! This B&B was purposed-built and was well designed. Hosts live on-site and were very helpful and friendly / informative.

Felt like âhomeâ. Beautiful landscape and brick walkway to our unit (Nene). Loved the âbridgeâ to the porch. Pam and Dean made us feel like family from the start! Extremely friendly and hospitable. The room was IMMACULATE and couldnât have asked for a more comfortable bed!! Beautiful decorations, bathroom brick shower was also beautiful. Loved all the snacks but especially the high quality coffee, eggs and egg bites, granola was delicious, peanut butter and crackers and pastries!! âŠ. You truly kept us well stocked for the week!! We will be back again!! It was so convenient to the National Park and my sons home. I also really lovedâŠ.. No bugs. So so clean. Mahalo!!!
A few thoughts. âŠ. It was hard for towels to dry due to humidity âŠ. Not sure how to rectify that but we felt bad using so many towels. Also, maybe get speakers for the tv that are closer to the bed to be able To hear better without having to have the volume so high.

It was a very comfortable room in a perfect location very close to Volcanos national park. Although I had expected a more traditional bed and breakfast (not self-serve in the room), we were thrilled with the variety of choices for breakfast and snacks that were left for us the first day. The hosts seemed like nice people.
It was odd how every day the breakfasts seemed a bit diminished. We never got a replacement for the bread for example although we were there for 3 days. We needed the protein and although we had hard-boiled eggs for 2 days, they were not replaced the 3rd day, nor was the peanut butter I had been eating. It probably would have been better if they had started with less and added rather than the reverse. We prefer more interaction with hosts.

Pam and Dean were excellent hosts and we highly recommend staying at Kilauea House if you are planning an adventure in Volcan NP! We stayed two nights in the Nene room. The location was perfect for exploring the park and provided a great place for us to rest after a long day. The rooms are well stocked with everything you could need including maps of the park, an array of breakfast foods (pastries, cereal, snacks, fruit, fresh ground coffee), and most importantly a beautiful little patio to sit and watch the birds. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean with all the usual toiletries. Free parking is included. Pam and Dean also provided some great recommendations for park activities (Dean is a park ranger) and we were able to attend an evening lecture about the 2022 Mauna Loa eruption. Our other favorite activities were hiking the Kilauea Iki trail, driving the chain of craters road, and stargazing in the park at night.
Everything was great! We have no complaints.

What a wonderful spot, close to Volcanoes National Park! Pam and Dean are wonderful hosts. The detailed touches throughout the room made it so comfortable, with everything provided for. We didn't spend much time on the patio (it gets cold up here in November) but enjoyed the garden view from indoors. The abundance and variety of breakfast foods was amazing! If we ever come back, this is the place to stay.
Nothing at all!

An awesome little gem where everything has been considered for the guests' comfort. The beds are like sleeping in the clouds, and the rooms are so well appointed. Thoughtful touches like each guest having separate coloured towel sets made it easy to keep track of who used what. Heaps of food provided for a lovely breakfast and snacks, which pleased the endlessly hungry teenage boys no end. Pam and Dean were generous hosts with helpful advice.
Wish we had more time to stay more nights! The only thing missing was a plain English breakfast tea bag or two for the non-coffee drinkers.

The proprietors met us when we arrived and provided some information about the surrounding area--things to see, things to do, places to eat. They were very hospitable! We were truly amazed at the room--it was super clean, very comfortable and cozy. There were plenty of items available for breakfast the following morning, which helped us to get on the road quickly for our day's adventure at the Volcanoes National Park. I wish we could have booked more nights to stay here!
Everything was better than expected.
