Best Western Plus Champaign/Urbana Inn

My room was clean and the bed was very, very comfortable! Also, the towels are decently sized (not bath sheets but still big enough to easily cover most bodies)!

My room was waaaaaaaaay overpriced for what you get. I've stayed in four star hotels in London for less than I paid per night here. The lighting in my room wasn't great and the room itself was not at all relaxing. It felt like its only purpose was for you to get in, sleep, and get out.

The room was great, and the room temperature was perfect The pool was perfect and the breakfast was hot and very tasty. Also the staff was very attentive and polite. Very friendly atmosphere and they made my daughters feel very comfortable being away from home.

The lighting in the room was rather dim and should be a warmer color. The lighting in the elevator was dim and flickering. The elevator was drafty and cold. There was a low spot in the floor outside the elevator on the 3rd floor that should be fixed. There was a caution cone where the low spot was but it really needs to be corrected. Also, please include a hot chocolate option in the rooms. My 11 year Olds would rather have that then coffee or tea.

The bed was amazing! We normally stay at Mariott chains and it is hard to beat their beds however, I must say I believe this one did! We decided to give this Best Western PLUS a try because we couldn't find a Marriott Hotel nearby and also this hotel had great reviews and was priced right. The hotel was very clean, the area was great and surrounded by restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

The first incident was when we checked in, the agent began to help us but then immediately took a phone call and left us standing there while she walked the person through the entire call! It seemed like 10 minutes which is a long time to be left unattended. After her call she never apologized or thanked us for our wait. This was very poor customer service. The second incident was the unfriendly breakfast attendant and other staff we encountered during our stay. Normally breakfast staff at minimum say good morning or smile. No one on the staff that we encountered ever smiled, said hello or acknowledged us at all. We enjoyed the hotel but the staff should be provided customer service training.

The room was larger and cleaner than expected. The price via booking.com was very much a deciding factor in us taking the risk of best western and turned out to be a good value.

The breakfast. Even the instant oatmeal was bad maybe due to water temp to make it, but I like fresh oatmeal. The "eggs" weren't eggs. The biscuits were steamed a long time which made them hard as if they'd been microwaved. The cereals were kid sugar cereals. But the person attending it had the area looking perfectly cleaned and was ready to help each person and that she has this selection is not her fault. If I'd been very hungry I'm sure there was probably some kind of danish but trying to eat healthy.

Location was good; staff was friendly and efficient; common areas fine - issues with hallway floor, but they seemed to be getting addressed. Room much nicer than expected. The beds were OUTSTANDING. We all want to know who makes them and how to get one!!! very nice stay, even if only one night.

The only small negative was some mildew staining in the shower grout. The room rate was unreasonable, which will make me avoid Booking.com and probably Best Western in the future.

Very convenient location, recently remodeled, room was modern, no carpet, clean, very soft and comfortable bed. I haven’t stayed in a Best Western in years, and was shocked at how beautiful and up to date it was. Check in lady was very nice, and apologetic about my five minute wait to check in, she also moved me without hesitation when I asked to be in a quieter section away from the pool as I saw a traveling sports team checking in as well. My room was super quiet, and I didn’t hear a peep all night. I should mention that I booked last second, as the property next door was so bad that I left it five minutes after getting a room, so the contrast was just incredible.

Anyone sensitive to chlorine should make sure to not stay on first floor close to the pool since I could smell it down there. Wish breakfast was served past 9am at least in the summer, as some people traveling for vacation want to sleep in.

Room very clean. Breakfast was good only had biscuits and gravy with meat, that was all the meat that was served. Plenty of seating for breakfast. Staff kept breakfast area clean. Plenty of parking around hotel.

Having bacon or sausage with the breakfast. Maybe also having hard boiled eggs available to choose from for breakfast. A lot of noise at night from children running up and down the hall. Needed a hall monitor.

Very clean, spacious room. Comfortable bed and a quiet room. Staff was friendly and efficient. WiFi worked well for a Zoom session. Location is good for quick access to major roads/interstate.

Fridge in room sounded like a coffee maker at times. Breakfast was not ready yet at ten minutes past the time stated by receptionist. Several guests were waiting in the lobby, but I finally left with a cup of lukewarm coffee from the carafe and bought food elsewhere.

Room was very large, very clean, comfortable beds, shower pressure was very good, loved that it had fridge, microwave, and hair dryer. The breakfast had a lot of options and was very nice. The whole hotel was very clean. I would highly recommend it!!

Only thing was the second floor we stayed on had very dim lighting and we had to use a flashlight to see room numbers and door lock.

Loved the vinyl plank floors, large television, white bed linens, and refrigerator, and microwave.

I did not appreciate an attempt to charge me above the agreed amount with the Booking site. Also, an attempt was made to charge me $2.00 for a safe that I would not agree to pay . Didn't ask for or use the safe . I was only interested in paying the amount established with Booking. Fortunately I had my Booking documentation with me to prove the $348 agreement. At my request the additional charges were credited back to my bank account within a couple of days.This type of behavior breeds mistrust.
