The room was large. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. It was very quiet inside and outside the room. Make your own FULL pot of good coffee. Jacuzzi tub was relaxing. Breakfast was great. The place was like new.

No elevator and no offer of assistance to get our luggage up the skinny stairs. Took a long while to get the hot water up to temp. The view of the Mississippi was just the backwaters and was a long ways off. Long drive to the middle of nowhere.

The breakfasts were wonderful. There was plenty to eat. The evening meal was fabulous! There were many selections and the preparation and presentation were also exceptional. The staff was friendly and extremely professional. Breakfast is generally served in the room but we were meeting friends from England and requested seating in the dining room. Our request was granted and the owners served us each morning.

There is nothing to dislike!!

We loved the peaceful location and ambiance. It was very welcoming walking up the door. Very clean and classy feel inside. Front desk staff always had a smile. We never heard another guest during our stay. Very quiet. The restaurant was incredible. It was very nice to be able to walk to our room after having a very good meal rather the get in a car and drive. Breakfast delivered to our room each morning. Room cleaned and freshened up each day with cookies on the table.

It would have been nice to have more outdoor seating. Maybe a fire pit area. It was beautiful fall weather when we were there.

Absolutely beautiful accommodations. The staff were amazing. Courteous, friendly and genuine. Wait staff at the bar and dining area were so incredible. Breakfast delivered to the room each morning was incredible The grounds were kept up impeccably, and very beautiful. There is nothing here that wasn't amazing. Will definitely stay here again.

Loved having BK brought to the room, food was delicious and hot.

Dinner at the Goldmoor Inn, server forget to place our ticket and we waited 90 minutes for our food yet the food was delicious when it did come. The next day we received a handwritten note of apology from the owners, along with a bottle of champagne!

Breakfast delivered to our room each morning within 15 min of expected time. Delicious each morning of our 3 night stay. Great variety! One little bump, on our 1st day, just as we were headed out, saw that the toilet was leaking and water was running across the floor. We stopped in the office and let the Mgr know. I felt bad for her, she felt so bad. Good News! Completely fixed before we returned in the early evening and no further problems.

The hot water took forever in the morning and the pipes were clanging. But, once it warmed up, all good. The heated towels were to die for!

Goldmoor Inn is a beautiful place to stay. The staff is accommodating and the owners take time with the guests. The dinner was great and the in room breakfast is a nice touch. The room was comfortable and clean. We looked at places in Galena to stay, but chose here because of the view . We were not disappointed

The breakfast was outstanding both days we were there. Restaurant quality and hand delivered at the time you request. They even serve fresh juice with each meal.

This is exactly what we were looking for. The restaurant was closed for dinner on Tuesday & Wednesday, which were the 2 days we stayed. Great experience.

Lovely B&B but with the privacy of luxury hotel properties. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast brought to your room at the time of your choice was deliciously different every morning of the 4 days we enjoyed there. Staff was pleasant and unobtrusive. The only hiccough was learning the kitchen was closed for dinners on Tuesday and Wednesday. Had not seen that information printed on any literature and our plan was to dinner on our last night on property. Property was about 15 minutes outside of Galena with lovely grounds in a wooded setting with views of a horse farm below and lots of deer spotting everyday off the balcony of our room each day. It was the perfect kind of getaway we were looking for.

Furnishings were lovely but beginning to be a bit “tired”, still comfortable though.

We stayed in the Suite called , The first lady , (#6) which was very nice and spacious , great room . Great service ,the rooms were spotless and food at the restaurant was fantastic. Loved the breakfast , its a fix breakfast for that morning , different each day, served to your suits nice and hot .(make sure to book a time with reception ).

Our bed squeaked ,I did mentioned it to reception twice , it was annoying as my wife moves a lot during the night . Hope it will be looked at and fix for next person who stays in room 6. Unfortunately we were not told upon arrival we had to book time slot (8.30 -10 am) for our breakfast to be delivered to our room (and it wasn't mentioned on the daily paperwork left in our room either ,it had an ext number but didn't explain you had to place a call .) The lady at the front desk added our name to the list and we ended up with a great breakfast in our room after all.We didn't make the mistake the next day, we told reception our time and breakfast was just as amazing as the day before . BUT we would definitely recommend Goldmoor inn to friends , and we would stay there again .
