Loved having our own private entry for Suite #5. My wife and I took a small honeymoon trip to Galena and our host Nathan was truly amazing. I made a request for roses and champaign for our arrival and he did not dissappoint. He set the roses and the champaign was ice cold when we arrived. And the wedding card with a handwritten message definitely made us feel welcomed. The room was emaculate!!! Not a drop of dust or dirt anywhere in the room. Even the huge tub (our favorite) was spotless and that almost never happens at most places. Throughout our stay the privacy was top notch. Not a single knock from staff or anyone. When we left for the day, we returned to fresh towels and a freshly made bed!!!! Kudos to the staff for sure. I 100% highly recommend Riverboat!!! Suite 5 was amazing.

This is the perfect cozy get away for a romantic weekend or any vacation!!! The rooms are so charming and you feel right at home as soon as you step inside. The owner Nate is the sweetest man alive and takes such pride in keeping up the place and making the guests happy!!! My fiancé and I loved chatting with him every morning and every evening when we returned from exploring town. He gave excellent recommendations on restaurants and things to do and see in town. He had even left a birthday card in our room when we checked in since it was my birthday :-) We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we plan on coming back next year!!!!

The parking lot gets filled up very quickly. Especially at night. It can make checking in difficult. There is however street parking on the side streets.

Nathan Gawlik was an exceptional hotelier! He was so friendly, knowledgeable and fun and yet you could see he was really listening to determine our preferences so he could share meaningful recommendations with us in terms of local experiences. I've never been somewhere where staff put us so at ease. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was like sleeping on super comfortable cloud! We chose a room with a jacuzzi bathroom and it was super clean and beautifully appointed with local soap and plenty of extra towels. Absolutely recommended experience! We can't wait to go back!

There really wasn't anything to dislike. Nathan, we learned, literally just purchased the Riverboat Suites (as in I'm not sure the ink was even dry). He's been the manager at the location for years and has a real love and vision for the place so I have no doubt he will be working on improving the place even further - not that it really needs it. (Example, he was literally just having a new clawfoot tub installed in one of the other suites so this man has got a plan for upping an already fantastic guest experience!) This fellow is really a lovely guy who goes out of his way to see that you have a wonderful experience. Once you meet him and enjoy the suites, I'm guessing you'll be another new long-time customer like we plan on being. Great getaway!

Nate is an amazing host. He offered ice cream as we checked in! Our room and bed felt like luxury. There were plenty of options for the self-serve breakfast. The courtyard and the patio in the back were peaceful. There is a coffeepot, microwave and refrigerator (great for leftovers from awesome restaurants) in near-by shared kitchen. Excellent history to hear at the Grant and Bellvediere houses just a mile away.

The motel is several blocks from the Main Street restaurant and shops area. Not a bad walking distance but there is construction to walk through.

Historic yet updated rooms. Off of the Main Street so it was quiet. The owner Nate was very accommodating and communicated well about our trip, special occasion and told us the history of the property. He was super nice! Even came out in the morning on the patio and refreshed our coffee! Loved the spiral staircases on the property!

We had a loft room and the loft was very hot upon arrival. It did cool off nicely when the window unit AC as turned on. It would be nice to have a night stand next to the bed in the loft.

Rodrigo that does all of the upkeep here is such a sweetheart. we would come and go and he would be out shoveling and always look at us and smile. we took this trip to get away from our small town and it really made us feel refreshed. the rooms were IMMACULATE. and I mean IMMACULATE. sheets were fresh, even the remote was wrapped in plastic after being sanitized. I can’t seem to remember her name but she checked us in and she was just so accommodating. they also had really fancy pastries laid out in their breakfast room the next day lol. I will say, and I know it’s expensive and time consuming but the hot tub was pretty dirty. which doesn’t even matter to us because we were just going with the flow. whatever happened, happened. centrally located not even 5 minutes from downtown galena just an overall great place to lay up for the night.

Warm, inviting, clean and so convenient to the main street of Galena. The owner was not only attentive, but also quite knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were updated and cozy. The bed was like a nest, it was so comfortable. We will return!

We had the one room which had its bathroom across the hall, which actually wasn’t a big deal as it was still just our bathroom. It was clean and roomy so really not a complaint, but it could be an issue for others—so ask when booking.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are very clean and everything is updated. The nightstands and lamps had plenty of USB outlet for our chargers and the breakfast room had a big selection. The staff was very helpful with our questions and had good insights to the places of interest in the area. They were also very helpful allowing us to check in an hour before since we had to get to a wedding that evening.

The room was very comfortable and more than enough towels and wash cloths.

We checked in on Friday afternoon and a older lady was in the office and she had some sort of problem with her picking her face until she was bleeding. She was using a kleenex to dab off the blood. She got our paperwork ready and handed me a pen without washing her hands. The kleenex was full of blood and it was sickening. Plus with the room near the highway was very noisy. Then we had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to our room which we didn't know about. Probably not going to book a room there again. Im sorry

Wonderful old 1850s building that was tastefully remodeled, comfortable bed, convenient location close to downtown, friendly and attentive host.

Located on a relatively busy road. Not a problem for most people but I live out in the country and not used to traffic noise at night. The newly installed storm windows helped to reduce noise.
