Didn't eat brkft. They were very accommodating. Very friendly. Bonus- the rate was cheaper than what I was originally quoted!! Easy to find, on the main road. Great stop over! Great lil Town, with small town shopping,🙂 ate @ the grocery store deli, had a tenderloin, they even had a small greenhouse.👍 Ground level rooms, & 2nd floor, but stairs not bad @ all. Had double queen room, Beds were comfortable& 4 pillows to each bed, loved it! Simple rooms but very clean! Bathroom& shower were separate from sink& mirror, liked that. Parking was easy. They actually had a coffee pot that used pods! As some don't & I usually bring my own pods. They had coffee pods there too. I would stay again!!

The only thing I could complain about was the refrigerator made weird noises. But take a fan you won't hear it, 😆

This is nothing fancy but was traveling for work and needed a place closer to my destination. My room was VERY clean with a nice note from the cleaners. It did what it was supposed to- a clean room, a convenient location, and all the amenities I needed. The bed was also comfortable which is always a plus! And don't get me started on the cinnamon rolls they have for the breakfast. That alone will have me staying there anytime I have business in Kalona again!

The breakfast was more than adequate for our needs. My mom liked the caramel frosted cinnamon roll. The location of the hotel was easy to find and the front desk support was very helpful in recommending a good place for dinner and directions to it and to the nearby grocery store for some snacks. The room was very clean and the accessible bathroom was as well supplied with towels and plenty of grab bars. My 94 year old mother felt very safe.

The only slightly annoying issue was for some reason the room entry door really drug on the carpeting requiring a bit of a push to get in.

Hotel offers exceptional, very friendly staff in very clean rooms with microwave and refrigerator. I was a returning guest who stayed about a week. Alex and other front desk set the standard for service and assistance. I look forward for a return business stay of about 2 weeks in 2023!

Breakfast was all about the cinnamon rolls from the local bakery. There were other choices too but this was the standout one. Thank you! So good.

There were things going on down town that we didn’t know about. Sidewalk sales, free horse drawn wagon rides etc. more activities on Sat mornings. Would have been nice for the lady at the desk to tell us about these activities.

Breakfast was better than expected. Home-made cinnamon rolls! I don't know whether that's a daily thing, but it sure made Sunday a better than normal breakfast. Desk clerk was helpful and courteous. Bed was comfy and the BEST pillow. (They even offer them for sale. I bought 2!)

Room was a bit small, but adequate.

Continental breakfast did not look appetizing so we didn't eat there.. Coffee was "Kurig" style with poor flavor selections.

This is a quiet country hotel. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and we rested very well. Breakfast included homemade cinnamon rolls from a local bakery and K cup coffees to choose from. We would stay here again and wish there were more similar hotels in our travels.

No complaints, but if someone is looking for a flashy hotel this is not it. Basic, simple, comfortable, fits the bill for a weary traveler.

It was quiet, clean, rooms were nicely sized. Staff was awesome! Location was great as well as price. Close to downtown Kalona and shops as well as close enough to coralville and Iowa city for activities there.

The Dutch Country Inn is a very well-kept, clean motel with friendly staff and a good breakfast with homemade sweet rolls. It is an older building, but with comfy accommodations and in a nice, quiet, beautiful location.
