Excellent location, in a quieter area of French Quarter, facing a small park that was perfect for walking my dog and having some green space. Private gated parking was very handy and safe when traveling long distances with lots of luggage and gear. Several good local eateries and non-touristy music bars were within a few blocks. The best part is that the hotel is a known location for local highly talented musicians to have jam sessions in the lobby or right outside the hotel. The night I stayed featured 3 hours of live New Orleans style jazz, with several different top-notch trumpeters, pianists, bassists playing together and jamming to a small but truly appreciative audience.

Nothing!

if you are looking to be where the music is, this is the hotel for you! It’s 1 block away from all the usual Frenchmen St hangouts right across from a beautiful park. The hotel lobby is becoming a popular music venue with great music every night. The bartenders mix up delicious personal cocktails to add to the festive vibe. The hotel itself exudes New Orleans charm from the architecture to the friendly staff. Our room had a balcony overlooking the park. We could sit outside and listen to the fabulous music in the the lobby below. If you are looking for a quiet hotel experience and like an early bedtime this is probably not your place ,but if you want to experience true New Orleans this is it.

We hadn't been to New Orleans before. Great location for the hotel.

The hotel bar was closed for whatever reason. The live music promised was missing at hotel and when we arrived we were informed that parking was $30 per night. We did not think these accommodations were worth $200 per night.

Everything exceeded our expectations! The staff in the hotel and the on-site bar, especially Amanda, were beyond amazing and everyone made us feel at home with their hospitality. The neighborhood is super eclectic with lots of great people, great restaurants, and great music. This will be our go-to place for our yearly NOLA trip!

Live music from the local bars and the hotel lobby occur almost every night, so if you require a silent sleep, this won't be your place. However, we embraced being lured to sleep by the jazz music and the sounds of the neighborhood.

The location was good it is in a lively area. The staff were brilliant, I was robbed the first night and the next morning the girl in reception was so helpful and accommodating helping me get sorted (even letting me use her phone). If it wasn't for her it would have led to worse problems for me. Forever grateful. I would return because of that alone. My room was nice and the downstairs bar was good too.

Everything was fine. Maybe the breakfast could be a little better but generally ok.

The staff was amazing! Very helpful and accommodating. Michelle and April were so good to us. Coming from Miami were most of the hotels are very new, we were a little concerned viewing the royal from the outside. This is a older established city with lots of history and the buildings are also older but have tons of charm and character. The band does play loud and we enjoyed them tremendously. Plan accordingly if it will bother you but don’t let it keep you from passing this great place.

I hate the fact I forgot our kids gifts in the drawer. Rookie mistake!

From the large bed, to the artwork, to the beautiful bathroom... It was a wonderful room and hotel. It was a treat to be able to relax on the balcony. The bar and bartender were wonderful and can't beat the happy hour price! Then entertainment was amazing, although, sharing it with the outside crowd was a bummer with no seating.

The noise. You are right on Frenchmen street. So there is a lot of noise from cars going by and just general people walking by.

Room was very clean, A/C was great! Staff was helpful and attentive. It was great to be able to explore Frenchmen street and pop back in the room, or sit in the nice courtyard to listen to the live music. We stayed here 3 nights then moved to a big chain on Canal. Overall enjoyed this more, but were ready for a little more quiet after 3 nights.

We didn't mind, but don't stay here if you are a light sleeper or go to bed early. The live music is awesome, but can go well into the early AM. No view in room but the ceiling window let in plenty of light.

Great Location and overall atmosphere. Pet friendly too! Very friendly staff! Rooms were clean and updated.

The live music in the lobby is very loud and goes until 1am. We were staying on the first floor and requested a room switch to another floor because it was so loud. Thankfully they accommodated us!

Loved the location and everything about this gorgeous place. The room was divine, comfortable and roomy. Linen and towels were great quality. We had a room off the front balcony and loved being in the room late at night listening to jazz wafting up from the downstairs bar, after a night on Frenchmen St. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
