it was near Boston conservatory where we watched recitals of our daughter.
the hotel had to charge us additional usd100 per day of our stay which was a surprise. it was not explained upon check in. I just learned when my credit card was charged and I asked. front desk said usd25.00 was consumable and the rest was deposit and will be returned upon check out if nothing is chargeable during our stay. since we stayed for 5 nights, my credit card was charged usd500.00. of the usd500.00, we consumed usd 395.00 but the balance was not immediately returned to my card. what more, another usd500.00 was charged to my card upon check out which I was told will be returned after a few days. so a total of usd1,000.00 was charged to my card. now I am waiting what will really happen. I am confused of this hotel policy.

Proximity to the Back Bay, Fenway Park, the mall at the Prudential Center, and Northeastern University (my son is a student there). The hotel is smaller than a lot of the other national chains in the area (Marriott, Sheraton, Weston and Marriott), and I like the scale of it (Think: no lines when you check in, fewer people in the lobby, parking lot is smaller and less hectic). The lobby bar is nice and usually has a small and manageable crowd. The staff at the hotel and bar/restaurant are friendly and eager to help.
I'm not particular about room size (Being that I live in NYC), but the one we had this time around was small and kind of oddly shaped. Not an issue for me but some might have found it small.

I selected to come back to the Hilton/this location because it was perfect last time I went to Fenway! Perfect distance, comfortable and reasonable pricing usually
I specifically requested a king room but when I got to my room, it was 2 individual beds. I tried contacting booking.com, no response after a 30 minute wait. Tried the Hilton front desk and they said I had to contact booking.com. Tried to again but nothing. The price I paid, I expected to receive what I asked for.

I enjoyed the staff and the breakfast room/bar attendants. They were very helpful and made us feel at home. We arrived late and were able to get a frozen dinner/meal from the selections in the mini-store, but also able to grab coffee in the am and what not as needed.
Two things that were particular to our actual room - The room was accessible, so lots of space in the bathroom, but the shower head was mounted on the long side of the tub and didn't hold it's position. Showering was not restful. Also, we had an odd shaped room (it was not a typical four sided room - the closet stuck out into the room blocking the TV view a bit). That made the energy a bit odd, but the bed was great and we crashed quickly, so it all worked out. Just ask for a different type of room if these things bug you.

Liked central location and having a nice view. Simple and not too large, intimate in a sense.
Phone call was not answered when I called for room service dining. Breakfast dining at 40 Dalton was high, examples: $32 for buffet, $16 for an egg/bacon/cheese in a muffin/bagel, $20 for 3 pancakes with maple syrup and butter. Bathroom lighting around mirror was too bright and needs a dimmer, and not enough mirrors with good lighting outside of the bathroom in the main room.

Hilton Hotel interior designers have perfected the calming colors and soothing texture quandary that that plagues other hotel chains with less comfortable interiors.
The exterior of the building is ugly beyond description. Its badly proportioned windows and graceless concrete exterior will, inevitably, lose business for the hotel. No matter what their current architects tell them, Hilton has no excuse for building an ugly building. Nobody does.

Room service was fantastic! My burger was absolutely delicious. All of the staff I interacted with were very friendly. I had a great view from my room and I was able to walk to Fenway for the Red Sox game!
The shower in my bathroom wasn’t the best and some water was spilling out on to the floor. It is hard to find anything to complain about. I had a great stay!

The staff were extremely friendly! From the front desk, to the maintenance person I ran into 3 times to the breakfast crew that were terrific.
I booked a room with 2 double beds, and they ran out. The staff was great about giving me a trundle bed for my daughter, but it was uncomfortable, and she slept horribly.

We received exceptional customer service from Enez on the front desk, she was smiley, welcoming and professional. The bed linen, pillows and bath towels were great quality and made for a lovely stay. It was great from start to finish, we moved from a close by hotel and wish we stayed at The Hilton Back Bay for our entire stay.

I came with my mom, and had originally planned to just have us share one king size bed. When we checked in (and they allowed us to check-in early, which was a bonus in itself!), they allowed us to have a room with two beds! And it was a BEAUTIFUL room! SO spacious, an amazing view, literally everything we could've dreamed of. The staff was so friendly, the food was amazing, it was minutes of a walk away from where I needed to go, I loved it. I didn't want to leave!
I wish the food wasn't as expensive, but honestly the prices weren't too bad -- that is my own personal qualm. We also were told the hotel food (at Forty Dalton and dinner/drinks in the lounge) would be $20 off if we charged the check to our room. But on the bill, we were charged the extra $20 as a fee. I don't know if the problem has been solved yet or not (hopefully that'll be looked into soon), but that was interesting. Not a deal breaker, but inconvenient.
