Holiday Inn Express & Suites Allen Park, an IHG Hotel

Cam, was amazing as always!!! She goes above and beyond all the time. I knew the first time I stayed at that hotel and she was at the desk, that with her amazing hospitality and amazing customer service skills, and with her overall great personality I knew that we'd become great friends outside of the hotel. Sam, that guy is amazing as well, he's very personable and customer friendly. He's also very accommodating within reason and within his means. They are the reason that I come to this hotel. I refuse to go to any other hotel. They are always very accommodating within reason.

I didn't like the breakfast options. I say that because I tend to have stomach issues and have to be very picky. I sincerely appreciate that breakfast is even offered and available in the first place. I hate that I have to be so picky. However, I know that if I don't voice my issues or concerns nothing can be done.

This is a fairly new hotel, opened just before the pandemic. It is clean, bright and fresh. Loved the chaise long in the bedroom and HBO on the TV. Breakfast was excellent with friendly and approachable staff and a light and airy area in which to eat. Plenty of free parking.

It could be because the hotel is newish that it didn't appear on our satnav and the road it is on has a huge gap between each end, the address given took us the the wrong end of the road! This hotel is next door to the Allen Park Hampton Inn which was listed on our satnav.

I absolutely, positivalety LOVE Cameron, she typically works the weekends from 3p - 11p. She;s incredialby customer service friendly, she's very knowledgeable about the area and super helpful on places to go for dinner and shopping. My boyfriend is from the area and the 2 of them get along well. Then there's my 16 almost 17 year old son, let's just say that he like to hang out in the lobby to talk to her and her fiancee when he arrives. The pool is pretty amazing as well. It does have the ability to let someone that handicapped go swimming as they have a chair lift. The rooms that I have been in that are wheelchair accessable have been very roomy, including the bathroom.

Everytime I eat the breakfast that's available I have stomach issues. My stomach hurts for most of the day. However my boyfriend and son are fine. they have no issues at all. I'm starting to think that something is just not agreeing with me. Sometimes that's just how life goes.

cleanliness and comfy beds

3 night stay from the UK arrived after mid nite following 22 hours travelling. when I booked the property I requested lowest floor and walk-in shower. as my husband disabled I was told that would not be a problem when we got to the room on the 3rd floor it had a tub no walk in shower so I had to return to reception we were then moved to accessible room still on the 3Rd floor . They ran out of English breakfast tea on first day and no orange juice till the last day. We got Ubers everywhere from the hotel to be told that the hotel had a complementary shuttle within a five mile radius just as we were checking out of the hotel which was rather annoying

All of the staff we encountered greeted us--cleaning staff, housekeeping, staff running the breakfast, check in/out. Kamryn at the front desk checked us in and was exceptionally friendly and I enjoyed talking with her. She made me feel very welcome at the hotel right away and put a very positive face on the hotel as the first person I spoke with despite me being very sweaty and disheveled by the late hour we checked in. Hot breakfast was good and open lounge area for eating was nice.

I wish we had more hand towels so we each had our own (we only got one) but when we requested extra pillows we got them (we forgot to ask for the extra towels). We didn't think it was significant enough to go down and ask but I think we would have gotten them. Bathroom fan didn't work though.

The beds, the rooms, the breakfast. From start to finish i had a very good stay. I come back to this side of the state a few times a year. I had always went with to another hotel but I saw the price and the reviews of this stay and i thought it was worth a try. I have to say this was the best decision. From check in to check out I had a better experience than I had before. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, the amenities in the room and bathroom were good, but one thing that made it over the top was the breakfast. Several different options that I couldnt choose just one. I'll be back.

Great location, clean, and quiet. The drive into Detroit for an event was great and it was nice to be away from traffic and the noisy sounds of the city. Would definitely stay again!

This isn’t really a complaint as much as it is a preference, the mattress was very soft which can cause some of us slight back discomforts.

Breakfast was outstanding. So clean so organized & ladies were so sweet. Loved the Kureig coffee maker. Nice surprise. Front desk ladies really friendly. Camden greeted us and lady with red/blonde hair during the day was very friendly as well. The housekeeping staff was always so friendly greeting us every time they saw us and offered us clean towels. Very pleased with whole staff.

Can’t think of a thing. Perhaps more facecloths right off the bat. The big tall chairs in the eating area. Very uncomfortable to get up to.

Spacious rooms, complimentary coffee and tea, clean and very comfortable. The star though was Sam on reception, a little unconventional compared to usual hotel receptionists but the friendliest, happiest, most helpful guy you could meet

Nothing, if you want to be picky a clean was missed on our first morning but wasn't a problem or really needed as we had only arrived late the night before

Rooms spacious and clean, free coffee/tea bar near the reception, pool opened until 23.00, gym, rich breakfast, free grab and go breakfast bags for the travellers, free coffee and tea selection in the room, in the reception you can ask for free personal hygiene items like razors, combs ecc if you forgot them, free shuttle for the airport, the ride is 22 minutes. Wonderful stay, great value.
