Courtyard by Marriott Holland Downtown

My daughter and granddaughter stayed here == me from Colorado, daughter from Santa Cruz and granddaughter from Toledo area. We were there for a funeral. I booked the hotel online. From the outside it looks like it has always been there -- historic-- but surprise on the inside -- really, really nice.

Yes there was something missing that was surprising-- coffee. Yes we had a Keurig in our room BUT that is not like real coffee. There was a cart set up in the lobby with breakfastie things for sale but nothing free.

Front Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location for dining out in town. Indoor pool was a great way to end the day.

Requested to have our towels changed after one day, that did not happen. No big deal.

The location is perfect for exploring downtown Holland. It was unexpectedly fun to be able to walk out of the hotel and stroll down to the candy store and toy store with my kiddo rather than being in a big parking lot and needing to get in the car. We loved sitting in the outdoor part of the hot tub and having the snow fall on us. The pool was good and the fitness center was good too. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Everything we needed was available from plentiful luggage carts to milk from the little store in the lobby. Extra bonus: it snowed six inches overnight and someone from the hotel brushed off the cars in the parking lot...how awesome is that?! Our room was very quiet although I am sure it helped that we visited on very off-peak days. Finally, one night as we returned to the hotel, we were accosted by a strange man in the lobby who was not in a completely sober state from all appearances. This was alarming and not a good thing, but the very quick and effective reaction of the staff to move this man away from us and to de-escalate the situation was a very good thing.

I would have really liked to have a microwave in the room. Also the outlet between the beds was not functioning properly. The door to the hallway was very heavy and awkward to handle when using the luggage cart. Finally, took us a day to figure out how to adjust the shower so that washing your hair didn't mean standing around for twenty minutes trying to get it wet in a weird circle of spray. Once we put it on the inner ring massage setting, washing up was fast and there was plenty of water.

The hotel is AWESOME! The hot tub and pool are always clean and ready to go. I'm a certified CPO person and let me tell ya, there are a lot of hotels with nasty pools... The staff is always very accommodating! We have long wheel base recumbent bicycles and they always find us a place to store them because they do not fit on the elevator. Service is always speedy. Your location is phenomenal for the downtown area. Super short walking for the great breweries.

Staff very pleasant and fun! Staff very accommodating; they found a secure place for my bike for the night. Pool and hot tub very clean and inviting. Great location if you're one to want to walk around down town; only a few steps away from all the action.

Couldn't get my bike on the elevator because the doors open on the back side... They couldn't find my reservations, even with my confirmation number. Someone put my middle initial next to my last name hence changing my last name 🤔

They don't do continental breakfasts, but they are attached to a Sports Bar and Grill, that I believe does breakfast, though not for free lol. They do have a coffee area, which is cool.

MAybe a lite breakfast offering, but other than that, nothing.

I like the view, great location, shopping, restaurants and soft pillows. The staff was very nice and helpful and the weather was great. My room was very clean with HOT water.

I didn't like the selection for breakfast very limited. I would have enjoyed a variety for example (bacon, eggs, oatmeal waffles, pancakes fruit and etc) I wish I had gotten a room with a balcony to see the fireworks on the 4th of July. I would visit the same hotel again with a balcony.

Location is excellent to all shops/restaurants in downtown Holland

Booking system. Booked a King room but when I checked in I was told the room was over booked. Even though I had a confirmation number was told I was fortunate to get a room. Not a great experience.

Unfortunately my family and I all got sick the first night there so we left the next morning. The lady working the front desk was very friendly and refunded us the the future nights we had booked.

Walking distance to all the downtown Holland shops and restaurants.

I thought I was booking a Queen suite but ended up with handicap accessible room with double beds. It wasn’t quite what I’d hoped for since we were there for our anniversary.
