Tru By Hilton Monroe, MI

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were impressed with how clean everything was. My husband said he didn’t really love the breakfast that much though. I liked that they had a sheet that said who cleaned the room. Wifi worked great and we liked that they had Netflix etc available if you wanted to watch on your own account. Everything was very clean and we loved the built in bottles of soap/lotion etc. We would definitely stay there again.

Our only complaint was that the room was VERY SMALL. We got a regular King room and it was a lot smaller than we had expected/hoped. It felt a bit claustrophobic. However, since it was just the two of us - it wasn’t that much a of a problem.

pretty much everything. price was very reasonable. The Pool was quite large and open until 11pm. Breakfast was tasty, hot and available for a long time frame. the rooms had many great organizing features like a shelf above the entire length of the bathroom vanity to put all of your toiletry supplies. Many hooks on the walls in bathroom and bedroom area to hang coats, clothes etc. Floors were vinyl wood look - much cleaner than carpeting you usually find in hotels. Lighting was very good and dimmable with plenty of outlets. Free pool table and board games in large lobby seating area. We liked it so much we stayed at another Tru the next night and it had 2 foose ball tables instead of a pool table.

Clean Clean Clean! Did I say Clean! The pancake machine is awesome and is a hit with kids both big and small as we overheard tons of comments about it. It was very quiet for a sold out hotel. The parking lot is a nice size and doesn't feel like you are packed in.

The only thing I can say bad is that they didn't have coffee pots in the room. They do however have 24/7 coffee in the lobby. Also the coffee cups could be bigger!

Hot breakfast selection was great I really loved they have a little longer hours than other hotels, which being with 7 kiddios was nice to not have to drag them out of bed before 10am and rush down to eat. Omg.the pancake machine what a hit for my family🤗 Must also mention while this stay was for my daughter's Suprise 13th Birthday and was a complete hit! The girls loved the Warm Salt water Pool! The lobby was bright and the added board games an A pool table was a nice touch. I had 3 rooms reserved and requested 2 joining and that was absolutely honored! This stay was by far pass my expectations and all my family n friends continued to say how clean and inviting this hotel.was.

We got together with family (about 15 of us), and was able to hang out in the large, comfortable lobby of Tru by Hilton for most of the evening. The staff was more than accommodating. The rooms were comfortable with nice big screen TV.

The breakfast selection was just OK. Some of our family stayed next door at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Monroe, an IHG Hotel, and that hotel had better selection. With that said, the lobby set up at Tru was much more comfortable and useful (e.g., pool table and LOTS of seating).

The breakfast was okay granted I can down the last minutes and the choices were few and everything very picked over.

The first room we were assigned to had distinct sewer smell. This is the only reason I did not rate this hotel a 10. The staff however were excellent. The manager himself can to inspect the room and agreed, apologized and immediately moved us to another room.

It was very modern and fun. The bed was comfortable. The room seemed clean enough. My favorite thing was the complimentary soaps and shampoo on the walls that you could use at any time. I also loved the self serve pancake machine for breakfast and the free coffee all day!

The only thing I didn't like was the view from our window was an industrial building but I could have looked on the map and found that out before I booked. Also the breakfast was okay. Good continental with some pretty yummy options.

I didn't care for the puddle of water that was on the ground floor in the hallway which was heavily trafficked area. Next to the elevator's, pool, and gym. There was a sign over the spot but just didn't seem like it was ever mopped up. Also the continental breakfast, the waffle maker was not working. You would think they would have a back-up waffle maker. My room was on the 2nd floor over the front entrance. Around 4pm the day I arrived and I was resting and some guys on Harley-Davidson pulled up to the front entrance. They revving up there engines which woke me up. You think they would have respect. Or the hotel having a policy for vehicle or motorcycles with loud motors or exhaust not permitted on the property or revving up at the front entrance.

I liked that they allowed me to check in earlier. Check-in time is at 3pm and was able to check in at 11am. This allowed me since I had 5 hour drive plus working all, the opportunity to get into my room and get some rest before I went to visit my kiddos.

Friendly staff, nice lobby, loved the pool table and the maps of Monroe. e loved the indoor the pool was clean and enjoyable. The room was in good condition, and clen. Love the shower and that it had shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the stall on the wall.

I liked everything. Honestly can't think of anything that stands out in a negative way.

The staff was great. The hotel was very clean and smelled great. They were out of the shampoo and shower gel they usually have so they already had small bottles sitting on the counter. The battery on the door was dead so the lady at the desk (who was sweet, funny and friendly) came up to let us in our room. They had a nice breakfast selection (and beyond their control the pancake maker was not working. They tried to get it working repeatedly but it had quit.) I didn’t get to try the pool or gym out but both were open. It was not noisy the night we were there, which was surprising as there were lots of kids. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I travel back to Detroit area!
