Very unique place to stay! Enjoyed exploring the mansion and all the historical artifacts inside as well as the haunted basement. Free pinball and arcade machine as well as pool table. Some pastries and coffee/tea/juice provided in the common room for breakfast. Is located in a nice quiet neighborhood nearby the outdoor sculpture garden.

The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms was loose. It would be nice to have a small soap bar provided but shampoo and conditioner bottles were present.

Staying in a unique museum, part of Minneapolis history, a real home. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The staff seemed to work hard at their jobs, were almost invisible, the rugs and surfaces were clean. The antiques were awesome! Museum quality furniture. A bronze flute player. A London cab! How often do you see one? Played pinball and pool. I liked the history photo exhibits upstairs. When a hot water handle was loose, I let him know and it was repaired right away. The house is quiet and you have a sense of privacy even though they were booked full. Free bottles of plain water in the carriage house, good. I got excellent directions to the Walker Center. Enter through the sculpture garden that you access by crossing a bridge at the edge of the park at the foot of the hill. The closest hotel. You are living in Minneapolis at this location.

The dresser had a stained cloth on it, with a welcome note hiding it. Should be cleaned or replaced. I was unsure how to find coffee on the premises. I thought the frozen pizza and big screen tv in the basement of the carriage house was over priced, but I relaxed there. It would be good to stock tourist maps from the city, and a recommendation list of local eateries or closest coffee house. The online maps did not have the short cuts that my Lyft driver knew to and from MIA. The city is easy to walk but I needed a map. The pastry coffee service on Sunday looked magnificent in the dining room but I did not have information about its cost or if it was gratis, so I skipped the experience. Leave a text to invite.

Great location, easy walk to the Walker Art Museum, Sculpture Garden, Loring Park. Loved the house itself and the well-manicured grounds, as well as the two Great Danes, Madonna and Clifton -- who are likely the true proprietors and only keep the exceedingly affable and knowledgeable John and Norman around for show. Enjoyed chatting with Jessica, who ably handled my check-in. The Minneapolis Trolley which stops right in front of the house on Fri/Sat evenings made popping into town both educational and convenient.

This is such a cute location and within walking distance of the lake, art park and the Walker. We loved everything about the area and especially Gertrude’s basement! The free wine and cheese is great too! Gabby did an amazing job on giving us the tour of the mansion. She is full of energy and such a positive person. Don’t forget to ask her about her writing!

The only issue with the property was the cleanliness of the fans. They all need a very good dusting

Loved the property. It is absolutely gorgeous and has an interesting history. I stayed in the carriage house which was nice, but If I were to stay again I would like to stay in the main house because it is so lovely. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating (I'm sorry I forgot the name of the man who helped me throughout my stay, but he was excellent and checked in on me often!). I'm glad I chose to stay at 300 Clifton as opposed to the other hotels in the area which were much more expensive and much less charming. The people at 300 Clifton have clearly spent time cultivating an inviting atmosphere and I very much enjoyed my stay with them! I will book again next time I'm in Minneapolis!

The property is very old so it has all the quirks and idiosyncrasies of an old house, which I liked but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. My only complaints would be that it was quite cold in my room but I was fixed up with extra blankets so that made my stay much more comfortable and

Top notch! An incredible property. Who doesn't love staying in a beautiful old mansion! So much character and history. My favorite by far in Minneapolis. It's a great location; close to downtown, a quick walk to Lorig Park and the Walker Museum, the convention center. The hosts, Norman and John are incredibly gracious and accommodating. They have done an amazing job restoring the property to its original grandeur with guest access to all the vintage rooms and garden. I walked to some fantastic restaurants as well, all within 10 minutes of the property. WiFi was robust and easy to access. They have parking onsite. I look forward to staying there again and again when I return to Minneapolis. A must stay in my opinion.

Really nothing. It was a fabulous property which exceeded my expectations on all levels.

The building(s) and rooms were great, each with their own history and motif. The staff was welcoming and pragmatic about dropping bags early. You could feel the attention to detail and care that has gone into restoring the building. The porch was a great place to enjoy coffee and converse with other guests. I did the free pastry and coffee then strolled (~0.5 mile) to a local diner for a full breakfast.

I skipped the full breakfast, though I am sure it would have been awesome, that price was too steep.

room to roam, cozy, freedom that feels like you live there, peaceful and the ability to allow those staying on the property to have much to do to enjoy their time without needing to leave.

No information on how to contact anyone when there’s no staff on the property, no information on where to put used towels for those using a shared bathroom. possibly a hamper in the bathroom?

I loved the way the downstairs rooms were redone to give an essence of the time period- very thoughtful and warm. The owners have clearly put a lot of care into keeping up this wonderful property!

It wasn’t super handicap accessible.. no elevator or ramps- this is just a general note for those who may have accessibility needs.
