Baymont by Wyndham Budd Lake

We were in the area to attend a wedding. We were unsure of what to expect here having spent a night at a crummy, run down hotel in Emporia, VA. Unless booking an expensive high end hotel, it has become increasingly difficult to trust the sparkly online photos for mid range facilities. Reviews are subjective and you almost have to throw caution to the wind when booking. Upon arrival at the Beaumont we were pleasantly surprised upon entering. The clerk was friendly and helpful, the lobby area, ground floor hallways/carpeting and our room were updated, clean and comfortable.

We didn't have their breakfast but others have complained of it running out before posted times and lack of healthy choices. We chose to go to the diner a short drive away.

Large room, comfortable bed, very clean and well maintained. We travel to this area several times a year, this will be our new go-to hotel.

While we had the handicap bathroom we requested and the tub was well equipped with grab bars and accessible shower controls, it was too high for me to be able to get into. My wife did love the large tub for soaking baths, but it was unusable for me . In spite of this issue, I still rate this hotel very high and very much enjoyed our stay

First time using the Hotel. The staff was friendly. The hotel lobby was pleasant and appeared clean. The carpet in the room needed to be cleaned and the air conditioner did not work well. The bathroom and bedding were nice and clean and comfortable. The guests were quiet and i had no issues sleeping becaue of noise. The stay was pleasant and worth the value. I would use the hotel again.

The gentleman on duty when we arrived late was very thorough and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and the room was pretty spacious! IT was really only a place to stop to sleep, so I can't help with much more detail!

I don't know if it was because of the weekend, or if they're dropped somethings due to the ongoing pandemic, but the photos listed for the property show a much bigger, and varied, breakfast selection. It wasn't a necessity for our stay, but I think if you're going to omit the hot portion of the breakfast, maybe you should omit them from the property photos as it is misleading to travelers.

My boyfriend and I were taking a trip up to north Jersey for a local faire and decided to stay here (I actually cancelled a previous booking right before because I realized the last place didn’t have a mini fridge. Imagine my surprise when we get to the room and it not only has a mini fridge like the room listing said, but also a microwave!). The hotel itself is really clean, the lady at the front counter taking care of our information was very kind and patient. The actual room itself was also nice- I wouldn’t say anything above and beyond, it’s honestly just a hotel room. But, it was REALLY clean and well-organized, so what more can you ask for? Another quick side-note is that the a/c works exceptionally well. Definitely have had issues with a/c at past hotels, but this one is super responsive and actually gets the room to the temperature you want.

Breakfast was good, for longer stays it would be nice to have some variety. The rooms had been remodeled recently and were clean and fresh. There did not appear to be much remodeling in the bathrooms. There was some rusted fixtures, but still very functional and clean.

For the price it was very good value

It appears the place has just been renovated and was very nice. Rooms where comfortable and showed a little wear, but can tell they are making improvements. Breakfast was ok. Waffles, Eggs, muffins, cereal. The gentleman that checked us in was very nice.

Unable to use the fitness center. No meats for breakfast. Whole milk was the only choice for tea or cereal.

Everything in the room was fresh, clean, new, and met my expectations and hopes 100%. That includes the bathroom, which was perfectly cleaned and maintained. The towels looked like they were brand new. The room was a pretty large size.

The bed was MOST comfortable. The room very cozy and plenty of space. Very nice large window view. Breakfast bar was plentyful. The staff, all very friendly and helpful. Great location for the area. I will stay there again.

Recent name change from Super 8 to Baymont made it harder to find. Disappointed there were no meat selections like bacon or sausage, and the only fruit, bananas, ran out before all our crew had eaten.
