The property is so beautiful and it's clearly very well maintained. Staff clearly care about this historic place. Staff was very friendly. Special shout out to parking valets and Blue Pig server, and cafe staff who we interacted with and were so kind. Blue Pig food was delicious, all of us loved our meals and thus returned again for breakfast the next day. It was chilly during our stay we just loved that a staff member kept the fireplace going with wood which was a special touch for our leisurely breakfast. Our room in south wing was more spacious than we expected and we loved the decor. We did not have a view in our room but loved sitting for a bit in the alcove between the 2nd and 3rd floor on the nice sofas with the gorgeous view of the gardens and ocean beyond.
We had tried to check out one hour later but front desk said we could not because of so many guests arriving.

The property reached out several times before and during our stay to ask if they could answer questions or do anything to make our stay more comfortable. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and on Christmas morning, we opened our door to find a Santa stocking with treats inside. The restaurants were good, there was a nice coffee shop and a cozy bar. The room was nice, relaxing, clean, great bed with comfy bedding, roomy bathroom and nice toiletries. I feel like they thought of everything.
There wasn't really anything to dislike, except the fact that it's pricey, but you get what you pay for.

This property was very pretty and very historic. We loved the proximity to everything. The beach, the town- all within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was extremely accommodating.
The only gripe I had was the public bathrooms. Both we tried to use were not either operating (the one by the pool was closed most of the day we were there so we had to head back into the hotel lobby if we needed to use it. Many of the elderly patrons at the pool had to as well- which was a long walk for them. Not sure what was going on- both men’s and women’s restrooms were closed and we were there for about 5-6 hours. The bathroom down by the restaurant in the basement was not clean either. There was toilet paper and paper towels on the floor. The matron tried to clean it quickly but it was like that on multiple occasions. Everything else was fine. I was just surprised about the bathrooms on such a pricey hotel.

Congress Hall is beautiful. Maintained perfectly, staff is all exceptional, from the front desk to the turn down service and the staff in the Blue Pig and Brown Room. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, we slept well. Everything was exceptional.
We ate dinner early, around 5 PM, in the Blue Pig. Later in the evening we were scrambling to find something additional to eat, finally heading to The Ugly Mug for appetizers at 11 PM, since Congress Hall doesn't offer room service and the restaurants were no longer serving. We even tried Uber Eats but they cancelled our order after 45 minutes, when we were already downstairs waiting for them to arrive. We noted this for our next visit and will warn friends who may stay to plan their evening meal better.

The hotel was charming and the location was great for walking to the beach and the local shops/restaurants.
The lack of an in room coffee maker was VERY disappointing! It is a basic expectation when I travel. Every hotel in the states and in Europe that I have visited has ALWAYS offered a Keurig or Nespresso. Not a good start for my mornings. Also…. all dresser drawers were snapped off their tracks. I expected better considering the hefty room rates.

Nice, Pleasant, Friendly environment. Food was very good and entertainment was enjoyable. Very close proximity to all activities - town, water / beach and Winery. ( although it was not summer season so many shops were not open and water / Beach was not really accessible)
Hotel itself has the charm of a bygone era but rooms are a little old and tired. Because we were there in mid March it was chilly on some days and at night our room ( especially the bathroom) would get cold.

Everything. Cheerful and helpful staff. Quality food and drinks in restaurant and bar. Old world charm in a fresh and clean facility. A great location that's close to everything but provides a restful setting. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cape May.
Really don't have any suggestions for improvement. Keep doing what you're doing!

The room was small with one bed and a chair and desk.. The front desk was able to give us a more comfortable room with two queen beds. There was a free newspaper.
There could have been some discounts on their restaurant. There also could have been a keurig in the room. The parking was on the property but quite a walk.

Very quaint hotel with old time charm, multiple fireplaces, room was excellent, nice gift shops, restaurant was very nice, staff were helpful, even had evening turn down service. Valet parking was nice when we checked out they had bags packed in our car ready to go.
Hotel is old so it does creak and walls/windows are thin but that is a minor complaint

The history, location and service
The bathroom needs a handle in the shower for safety. The floors in the room on the forth floor are severely sloped. This is part of the charm. However this make a hand bar at the toilet and in the shower necessary.
