Loved the cool mod refresh. Beds were comfortable and room was spotless, and very spacious.

Although the location is good walking distance from some excellent food locations, it apparently is the adjacent to the street of choice for nightly car racing, and so it was a bit noisy. Also, there appeared to be locals cruising through the parking lot into the late hours with music blasting. Not the greatest for peace and quiet.

There was obviously a lot of money invested into this property. Everything looks modern and the look appears to be more than just skin deep. I see potential in this establishment in utilizing its full amenities to become the go to place, a hot spot, not only in Carlsbad but all of southern New Mexico. The few staff that we encountered were gracious, friendly and competent, providing a personal touch with professionalism.

Due to the layout of the parking lot, the parking is inefficient and less than optimal for guest access. I don't know why the bar / lounge area is not being used, but it was a shame to see such a well designed, fully equipped modern facility setting empty.

We did not eat the breakfast there and just stayed in our room and did the stuff we wanted. The room was larger than expected clean and very comfortable. The price was great and definitely appreciate the cleanliness. The room had the little soaps and shampoo for when you forget it and was just nice. The room had a clean smell and a lot better than I expected for or the area.

I will say the 2nd night we got back, and our hands were full of stuff, and we were locked out of our room. We had to go to the office to get them to re activate our card again and there was no I'm sorry let me fix this it was what date do you check out and she scanned it and said here, the office people are not the best, but I didn't care.

Pros: the rooms are great! My room looked just like the rooms on the website. The bed was so comfy! The location is amazing, I was able to walk to most things. Free laundry was really nice as I was only halfway through my trip. The staff was very helpful.

Cons: my only complaints are not the fault of the hotel. A lot of people smoke outside rooms. I happened to be in a room that people smoked in front of A LOT! Next time I will put a towel at the bottom of the door. If you come in after 6 parking is very limited. Again, these aren’t issues that the hotel can fix, just some observations.

Cute hotel. Location & price were great. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. I really liked the two shades on the window. One let light in, but wasn't see-through. The other darkened the room. The room had a coffee maker, fridge & microwave. There was a ton of storage in the room. The TV was large, and received lots of channels. I liked how the toilet & shower were separate from the sink area. One person could be getting ready while the other showered. The frosted window in the bathroom let in lots of natural light. Free breakfast was provided. It consisted of cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee/tea, breads, juices, and ready to heat pancakes & French toast. The staff were all super friendly. I would stay here again.

The shelf in the shower was missing. Since it was a stall, all toiletries had to be placed on the floor during showering. The water pressure wasn't great. The tables in the breakfast area weren't wiped down between guests, so they were sticky & had crumbs. There was no ice in either ice machine. I wish they didn't use Styrofoam in the rooms & in breakfast area. There are better environmental options. And nothing could be reheated in the microwave due to Styrofoam plates & cups.

This is a brand newly refurbished property. It is exceptionally clean and tastefully done. The front desk lady recommended the 'Lucky Bull' restaurant and it did not disappoint. The beds were incredibly soft, maybe a little too soft for some but I found them comfortable. The location was a short drive to Carlsbad Caverns, plenty of other entertainment options within walking distance. The shower was probably the best I've ever used in a hotel room, except for not having a bar of soap.

The continental breakfast was a complete joke - don't plan on that for an actual breakfast, or drink even. Neither of the ice machines outside worked although the one in the lobby did. There was not a bar of soap in one of the 2 rooms, which I assume was just an oversight by what is most likely a brand new housekeeping crew. There is plenty of room in these rooms for a rollaway bed, it's a shame the property doesn't offer them.

The hotel has recently been renovated and everything is fresh. The shower is big and together with the toilet in a separate area. A nice wash hand basin with a large area to put your things. Beds and pillows are super comfy and feel like we were the first users, so crispy clean. A few nice places around for an evening meal (besides the usual strip of fast food restaurants).

Both staff members we dealt with (when checking in and for breakfast) were grumpy and unfriendly. The breakfast they advertise is non-existent. There was no sugar or milk for the coffee, no bread, the juice machine was out of order. They should really advertise it without breakfast. A box of tissues in the bathroom would be nice.

When we got there, it was later at night. After passing quite a few other motels that were concerning and so I was a bit worried this would be the same. It was well lit, quick check-in, and we were in our room in about 10 min. Very clean feeling, nice staff, and would recommend to anything staying in Carlsbad.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. We were not expecting much, but they had a handful of packaged items, and waffles. The only other knock was that they did not have ice in the ice machine.

This older property has been completely re-done with a modern renovation. Rooms are spacious and new... and clean. Our bedside lamp didn't work, the check-in clerk was so sweet, she found us a new one. I would definitely stay here again. Location is perfect in central downtown Carlsbad, parking lot is right outside your door.

The breakfast is standard "major chain" fare like at Days Inn, Super 8, etc. Didn't really matter to us as we brought our own food.

Amazing location in the very centre of Carlsbad and next to the excellent Trinity gourmet restaurant. Also within an easy walk of McDonalds and Wendy and the city centre stores. Rooms are big, modern and very clean. Great A/C which is vital in 100+ degree Carlsbad! Staff super helpful - Susan even drove me to the Caverns (Carlsbad isn’t easy without your own car).

The breakfast wasn’t up to much. But Trinity next door does an amazing breakfast.
