Mountain Treasure Bed and Breakfast

I have to say that I have never been so well-fed or eaten such delicious food at a B&B. Usually, it's self-serve, cold options along with coffee. Agnes is the most wonderful cook! Out of all the food I ate, her potato pancakes were spectacular! Along with her cooking skills, Agnes is a delightful host - friendly, personable, informative, and helpful. The house is an old farmhouse along a country road, and the grounds are expansive and gorgeous! There's a deck with seating, Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, a hammock, a lawn next to the home with chairs, and a lovely walk down to the Batavia Kill where two Adirondack chairs and small table awaiting you where you can listen to the roaring water and see wildlife! I saw a weasel run through the grass, go up a tree, and back down to the grasses, where he peeped as he went. A small frog hopped across our path one morning. On a recommended drive around the area, we stopped to take photos and watched a deer cross the road. I love this area! Beautiful scenery all around. The king bed was one of the best beds I have ever slept in, adjustment to it aside.

The house is adjacent to a country road so you will hear some traffic. If you're sensitive, try staying at the cottage that is closer to the back of the property. The foyer had a slight musty smell at times, and our room had a strange smell at first that dissipated with open windows after a day; you will find this sometimes in older homes during rainy seasons.

The location is beautiful and close to all main attractions. The hosts were so helpful and welcoming; you really get that small-town hospitality feeling. The breakfast was delicious and having it at the back porch was the best way to start the day. Our room was comfy, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. Everything felt clean and nice. Overall we had a great weekend escape from the big city!

The only tiny down point is that there is very limited cell service. However, the hosts resolved that immediately by telling us to connect to the the wifi an enable wifi calling. The wifi signal is strong and reaches all around the property, so with the wifi calling we had no issues.

All of the options for breakfast were incredible, particularly the crepes. The central location of Mountain Treasure meant we were very close to various parks where one can hike, kayak, and do a host of other outdoor activities. We were also quite close to businesses that offered horseback riding, shooting, archery, and of course gift shops. Besides the cleanliness and coziness of Mountain Treasure (in addition to the other factors noted above), it was Agnes' hospitality, kindness, and excellent recommendations for various activities that made our stay even more exceptional. We can't wait to go back next time we're in the Catskills area—do not hesitate to book Mountain Treasure!

There was nothing we didn't love about our stay, and there's nothing we would've changed. Agnes and her husband made our trip exceptional with their warmth and hospitality. We only wish we could've stayed a few extra days!

We had the perfect stay in this B&B. The host was great and the house was located at a very pastoral and quiet place. Like a fairytale. The location is great to go out to many hikes in the area. Everything is so clean and By the end of the day they have a cozy room with by the end on the day, there are many dvds to do a movie. A perfect breakfast was served with love. A huge backyard leading to a creek, with a place to do bbq and to just chill and watch the fireflies at night. Hopefully I will be in the area to come again!

Just perfect. like in the best places in Tuscany or Provance. The polish lady, the owner host the clients, and she is sweet like honey. Very very good, profesional. The place is quiet, fantastic location, the breakfast far beyond expectation. Possible the best american hotel i stayed ever.

Mountain Treasure is tucked away in the Catskill mountains about a 10-minute drive from Windham Resort and downtown Windham area with restaurants and bars etc. It's also about 25-min drive to Kaaterskills falls. The inn itself is well kept and very clean. Agnes served us an amazing breakfast (see pictures) every morning of our stay (choice of eggs/bacon, belgian waffle or crepes also served with a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, coffee and juice). We had the option of having breakfast outside on the deck with a view of the mountains in the backyard (when it wasn't too cold). Due to COVID-19, each guest room had a 30-minute slot to have breakfast alone in the cozy breakfast area. We gave Agnes our breakfast order and chose our timeslot and everything was ready and waiting the next morning right on time. Agnes was also very helpful in suggesting things to do in the area and places to eat and also gave us the helpful tip of getting to the Kaaterskills Falls parking lot nice and early (we still barely got a spot!). We stayed in the "Fiddler on the Roof" room which had a great view of the field across the road. The room itself was cozy and very clean as was the bathroom. Don't underestimate the small electric fireplace - it really cranks out the heat. Plentiful hot water in the shower with soft, fresh towels and basic toiletries (shampoo, lotion, body wash). Linens were crisp and fresh and very comfortable as were the memory foam mattress topper and pillows. There's nice little collection of DVDs on a bookshelf in the hallway for a movie night in our room. Our room was pin-drop quiet at night and coming from the city it was a welcome change! We plan on returning in the winter for snow-shoeing and some winter sports!

Great BNB stay near Hunter Mountain. Agnes was an exceptional host and paid attention to every detail. The check-in process was prompt and easy and the breakfast service was great and perfectly timed. Would definitely recommend and will stay again!

We really liked the owners, property and location! It was exactly what we were looking for in regards to a couple's weekend getaway. Agnes, the owner, always greeted us with a smile and homemade breakfast every morning (potato pancakes with sour cream and apple sauce. - yummie:). She was knowledge about the area (i.e. restaurants, hiking, other adventures) and provided us with maps and directories. The room we stayed in was small but perfect, especially after a longer than expected hiking trip...oops.:). The property was clean and offered Clorox wipes, additional towels, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/filtered water and evening dessert treats. It also adhered to COVID-19 safety polices and procedures. The property was located close to restaurants, hiking and local towns. We really liked the fact that the bed & breakfast was nestled in-between the mountains. I did yoga every morning on the back deck which was ideal. It was also nice to have the option to get take-out, sit outside, eat and enjoy the surroundings. There is also a stream in the back where you can sit on a bench, drink some wine and enjoy the moment. We're already booked for October!

The grounds are beautiful to explore and the hosts and their cat are lovely! We enjoyed the breakfast choices. Our room was nice and larger than expected, and it’s very quiet. We also liked the location - close to town and a beautiful waterfall.

Everything exceeded our expectations. Wonderful hosts made us feel right at home! We will return without question.

Best experience we've had in any bed & breakfast or hotel including top rated resorts. Agnes & Jan are the best possible hosts one can ask for. Our stay was perfect in every respect.
