La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Middletown

We went for a wedding. Had no idea about the city but the hotel has a great location, near the highway and next to the Marriott. The area it’s safe, has restaurants, fast foods, Starbucks across the street.it’s very clean, I think it’s new. The room we stayed it’s perfecto really a family of 4, we were 3, because it has a sofa bed. We were on the 3 floor, view was ok, but if you go higher you’ll get it better. Still ok.Staff was friendly. Breakfast was the usual in those hotels, but if you want more just walk a couple of blocks to the places that I mentioned.3 minutes drive you have big stores. I’ll definitely stay again, for those of you that may want to go to Vassar College, this may be 50 minutes away choice, nearer to NYC

I arrived at night, and it was well lit up! Easy checkin, with friendly staff. My husky travels with me and the room was wonderful, and dog friendly. The bed was very comfortable, and bathroom was clean 😊 Breakfast was a plus, and the offerings of: eggs, sausage, waffles, along with other hot and cold products was great. When checking out at 4:30am, I asked if there was coffee in the kettles and the gentleman behind the desk said yes…but it was more than likely cold, so he went and brought out a hot kettle of coffee. Well done LaQuinta!!!!

There was nothing to dislike…

Staff were extremely friendly and attentive & room was extremely clean with a large and bright high-ceiling lobby/breakfast area. There was a very nice swimming pool and jacuzzi with adjoining patio with seating and a firepit Breakfast was OK - eggs, cereals, bagels, waffles etc. coffee, tea & hot chocolate available all the time - with multiple sweeteners and honey. Frozen foods/snacks were available in the lobby. The location was great - very near to Legoland and other attractions.

Both nights, there were noises that kept us awake or woke us up! On the first night, there was a group of people up until ~11+ playing a bag-throwing game, laughing & talking loudly. On the second night, there were a group out on the patio talking and laughing out loud until ~1:15 am - woke us up! It required calls to the front desk to get them to quiet/leave. Staff later said that they would address this going forward and close the patio earlier to visitors' protect sleep. Breakfast was missing some variety - no yogurt & nuts/granola & only apple juice. Bacon or other meat was only available on Sunday (not Monday) - only apples for fruit.

The room was comfortable, and clean. If you paid attention past the view of the "balcony" (you can't use it, but you can see into it.), you can see the horizon and the far away mountain views. The bars of soap were smaller than usual which was actually efficient.

The light from the "balcony" outside the window made it hard to fall asleep, even though the curtains were drawn. The window needs shades that come down to cover all the light. The curtains do not do enough for light sleepers. There was a smell that initially came from the heater/ac unit. It did dissipate after a while. I'm assuming be it was from lack of use and it was warming up.

I stay at La Quinta whenever possible, I always have an excellent experience. We just stayed overnight for a concert at Bethel Woods. Hotel was brand new, clean, beautiful. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded at check in and the room was lovely. After some unexpected issues at the concert venue we were very late returning to the hotel (4am!!), we asked for and gratefully received a late check out. Everything was perfect.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was pleasant and accommodating when we needed supplies.

The coffee and hot water were never hot at any time of day, and we always had to nuke it back in our room. The fridge in our room had to be kept in the lowest position of cool as we put items in there upon arrival, and they were all frozen solid the next day.

For me most important location to where I was going at Lego Land was great and the hotel was extremely clean, clean, and staff and checkout were great and professionaly dressed... Also it's right across from gas station, panera bread, and excellent liquor store in walking distance.

Breakfast time cuts at 1000 am, but I wish could be little later till 1100. The pool, hotel everything great.

The size of the pool was great. I was able to bring my family as guest and enjoy the pool with me. My room had 2 tvs. So my husband was able to play videos games while I watched cable. The staff was so nice. Especially Rachel, she really went out of her way to help me and my husband.

The fridge and microwave in front of the bathroom door. If someone was coming out of the bathroom you would have to knock to let them know you were standing there.

The staff were amazing! Alyssa was kind and very sweet upon checking us in and every time we saw her. Nicole and May assisted us with a very serious family situation and went way beyond the call of duty. It was obvious to see how genuine and sincere these women truly are. I have never encountered anyone like them. There are several hotels in the area. I am so grateful to have chosen this one. My family cannot wait to go back!!

the gal that checked us in was exceptional, and even inquired how we did on the race. the morning desk person saw that we needed to get to the race early and opened up the breakfast area earlier for us.

only thing missing was (no bananas at the breakfast bar. bananas are a staple for runners since we need to eat light before a race. however you did have apples (I guess fir the big apple state 😀). I’ll be back there fir next years race. cheers DS
