Even with a small emergency on Christmas Eve, we love this historic property and stay there when in Utica visiting family! About 12:30 AM Christmas Eve the hotel alarm went off telling us to evacuate via the stairs (we were on the 9th floor) and make our way to the main floor of the hotel. As we approached the lobby level water was coming under the door and down the stairs to the basement. Apparently the water main to the fire suppression system had burst in the ceiling above the lobby entrance and water was quickly filling the lobby floors. The Utica FD was there, got the water main turned off, and pushed the water on the lobby floor outside. The staff at the hotel did an amazing job handling this emergency and keeping us all safe! The hotel was back up and fully functional again within 6 hours, that’s amazing!

Loved the look and feel of the historic building coupled with the modern upgrades in room. Gentleman who did check in was friendly and professional. Lady at checkout was helpful and made more coffee when notified the station was out. had a nightcap at the bar and admired the pictures and decor along with the history of the site.

Only thing would have been if restaurant had been open a little later for food.

Very clean room and very spacious. Bathroom very spacious as well and the water pressure is great. Restaurant on site.

No light above the microwave and coffee maker, hard to see when it's dark out. Restaurant isn't open till 4.30 ,so had to purchase breakfast & lunch off site. Anyone can enter the parking lot and dit at their patio seating even if they aren't a guest.

The staff was very friendly. My special requests were met and exceeded expectation! The room was very clean and air conditioning was already on when we entered our room. We had a very enjoyable stay.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. I have nothing to say here.

Location to the event I was attending. Cleanliness of the hotel. Size of the room I stayed in.

The price of my stay was a bit high. HOwever, I know that this was due to the local event I was attending.

Everyone there was very nice and accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean.

We usually go to the restaurant inside the hotel, the iconic. The weight staff is always very nice but this time the food was very disappointing.

We did not have breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel but they had coffee in the lobby which was nice. The only problem was they did not have decaffeinated coffee for us. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. There was ample parking as well. It had a beautiful bar with outdoor seating. They had live music on certain nights.

Although the lobby is beautiful there was a musty smell. I know the building is old but it was pretty strong. The restaurant was only open until 9 PM. Not sure if that is related to COVID as other restaurants in the area also closed early. We had to search for restaurants that were open later and there were very few. The hotel room had a gym and an exercise bike in it which took up a lot of room especially since we had to use the sectional as a fold out bed.

Beautiful and well-maintained property with extremely comfortable rooms. Everything you need for a short term stay in Utica. Probably one of the nicest buildings in the city!

it was very nice, only thing that was kinda annoying was the elevator was very small!

the restaurant recently changed their menu and was seriously downsized from the one on line.

gracious, modernized old classic hotel with excellent amenities including bar, restaurant and spacious bedroom. easy parking always welcome!

Room was a bit gloomy—one small window—suggest bright white paint and furniture plus new lamps.
