Red Roof Inn Utica

Good facilities, dog friendly, lots of lawn space.

My only problem was that I called ahead to assure I was getting a 1st floor room and that I was in the same room both nights and although the worker on the phone said they would make sure that was accommodated, and that I needed to pay more for the double bed 1st floor room, so I did pay extra, and when I arrived they only gave me a 2nd floor room and separated the room stays. My mom cannot visit or go upstairs easily. Later they said I can stay in the room both nights if I ask at the desk next day but that I had to take the second floor since they were full. So I paid extra for nothing. Basically they said they couldn't help me because I booked through a third party, booking.com. at the desk and during my stay they were very nice though.

It was close to the highway exit but you couldn’t hear the traffic. The room was small but clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was even surprised that the bed was comfortable. That one is hard for me to find a hotel bed I’m comfortable in. We left our pillows and when we realized it and called, they had them sitting at the front desk and didn’t just toss them away. very appreciative of that.

The format of the bathroom was extremely small and not very well thought out. When you walked into the bathroom you had to do a dance just to turn around and close the door. And I am not a fan of having the sink and mirror outside of the bathroom. I was more readily accommodating of that then the size and bad design though.

Super clean rooms, well cared for grounds. Staff very friendly, accommodating and "comfortable". We were there for a week with our pets while waiting to close on our home. I was comfortable enough with the cleanliness of the bathrooms to even enjoy many soaks in the tub. Most of the floors were hard surface, which also helps with the clean feeling and zero smells.

The outdoor spaces (railings and stairs) had lots of cobwebs and could have used some love.

the front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was crisp and clean. The white bedspread looked brand and the bed was so comfortable. We slept like babies! When checking out, the front desk staff greeted us with big smiles and asked how our stay was. They knew before they asked. I give this place a 10. For a budget priced motel you can’t get any better than this. We lucked out on this one.

There was no breakfast. Location was great within driving distance to nice restaurants.

We forgot our own pillows that we brought with us and even though the Utica location has my cell phone number no one got in touch to let me know. I was still in the area 10 hours after checking out and could have driven by to get them! They were expensive and excellent quality! Disappointed beyond!

Only thing wrong was I asked for a first floor and they promised it over the phone and then upon arrival found out they did not book a first floor and had to go upstairs and inpaid more for a first floor.

I was greeted with genuine smiles, and also people that were clearly happy in their jobs in the Lobby, thank you Steve and Darienne for making me feel so welcomed and safe. Cleanliness of the room! There were CLEAN wood floors, I could walk barefoot if I wanted to. Thank you Karyn from housekeeping for your detail to my room! I even had nice facial tissue in a one use pack! With covid, all the other places I traveled did not provide anything except for the same roll of toilet paper that was passed on from guest to guest! Nice touch from Red Roof, thank you! Plenty of powerful hot water with a bar of soap that had a mild exfoliant in it which felt amazing, comfortable bed and a single cup coffee maker (don’t have to worry about how the pot was cleaned). The area was very quiet and I slept the best I had in my 2+ week trip! Would I stay again??? You betcha! Thank you Red Roof and the entire staff that may my stay so pleasurable!

Room was very clean, freshly painted, with a recently refurbished bathroom. Staff was helpful and friendly. Lobby coffee was available 24/7.

This is a budget motel, with minimal amenities. No coffee pot in room, no hairdryer, no iron, no microwavenor mini fridge. Housekeeping services are offered 3 or 4 days a week. Our room was very small. Take note: the hotel does not accept cash. This doesn't mean we had a bad stay. Just remember it's not the Ritz.

We booked the wrong day…they were very gracious and helped us fix the issue. We also liked the 18 and over check-in. We are college kids traveling back to school and was unable to find accommodations.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The room was clean . The bed was comfortable. The shower/ water pressure was great. Easy access to my 1st floor room. Was fairly quiet. Near the highway

The bathroom was small. I wasn't able to make coffee using the little in room coffeemaker because it had some kind of residue coating the water well..really needed to be cleaned.
