The cabins are so cute and cozy. They are comfortable, and it feels like a home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were nice touches all around the cabin to make it feel homey. The community was very quiet and it was close to excellent restaurants.

The bathroom was extremely tiny..like really hard to fit into, and it was not fully enclosed, so it was not very private. There's about a 1 foot gap between the ceiling and the top of the bathroom wall. The toilet and shower are basically a shared area split by a curtain, so there's no room to change after a shower. I honestly don't know how an overweight person can fit into the toilet area.

If you don't want to stay in a cookie cutter hotel room in Asheville, this is your place! I felt like I was stepping back in time when I saw a historic register plaque on my cabin. Inside was a picture of the Motor Court taken in the 1920s. Considering how old the cabin is, the owners have done a good job with upgrades while maintaining the historic feel of the cabin.

There is traffic noise from the nearby highway. I would have preferred standard white hotel towels vice ones intended for home use.

Very lovely, historic cabins. Just very cozy but also they have all the modern conveniences. There's a TV with cable, microwave, coffee machine and surprisingly large fridge/freeze in the cabin. The shower water got hot fast and stayed that way, which surprised me. Pretty amazing for cabins that date to I believe the 1920's. It's a National Historic site, which is pretty cool. This isn't the type of place to expect room service or a free breakfast. It's if you want something cozy and peaceful. The staff typically isn't there but they can be reached easily if you need them. Everything is very much done remotely with the cabins having access codes. There's a laundry building that has extra towels, blankets, coffee, etc. if you need it. If you need a place to eat there's lots of great options just a mile or two down the road.

I loved it. We had the lazy dazy cabin...my guy kept bumping his head on the door lol but he was ok after a few bumps. We enjoyed sitting on the porch enjoying neighbors' small talk. Close to aseville. I enjoyed the close stores. The porch itself, I just wanted to stay on the porch.

The spiders...but it is what you get being in the woods lol. My guy didn't like bumping his head but he saw more positives. We didn't have much to complain about. Maybe more t.v. channels

The location is easily accessible, and we felt safe in the area. The cabin was as described, clean and the hot water was hot. :-) The owner was friendly and made sure we were comfortable and knew about the amenities on the property. The front porches were perfect for sitting on and visiting with our friends, who were in two other cabins. I did make a phone call to the office and I got a text back in a timely manner answering my question.

The weather could have been better, but the owners have no control over that. Honestly, our stay was as expected and we would book here again if we need lodging in the area.

It was an historic building. The air conditioning was very quiet and the fans worked well. There was plenty of space for sleeping, eating and relaxing.

The property was very dark inside and looked very neglected from outside. The garden area would benefit from having some trees and shrubs pruned and the garden furniture could be replaced. Also, the stove hadn’t been cleaned so had dried on food and grease in the oven.

The general character (individual log cabins) is fantastic -- love the idea, and love the execution. The cabins themselves are very nice, comfortable, well-maintained, and roomy. The guest book provided in the room gives lots of useful and interesting information about the history of the facility, where to go / what to do in the area, etc. Also a few things that I love, but I didn't have occasion to use during this trip: the property also includes common facilities such as laundry and fire-pit. The kitchen contains complete supplies needed for cooking (pots and pans, dishes/cups, silverware, etc). This trip was just a couple of days but I could see spending a month or more here very comfortably without having to spend lots of money in restaurants.

There is no staff on-site most of the time. Someone responds quickly to text/email messages, but that's not quite the same as actually having someone you can go to. The street that the facility is on (Weaverville Road) is not very pedestrian-friendly. I love to take long walks and while there are places I could go to hike/walk (info provided in the 'guest book'), those are places that I need to drive to before walking. When I'm walking, I prefer to just walk.

Location was close to Asheville yet still quiet. Everything was very clean. The cabins were cozy and well appointed. It was exactly what we needed for our stay - and allowed us to bring our dogs who lived experiencing the numerous hikes in the area. The coffee shop down the road (Asheville coffee roasters?) was amazing and was our morning stop. The garden store (thyme in the garden?) was also well worth the stop if you’re gardening inclined.

Everything was great

Rustic but we had a great time. Stayed in “Lazy Dazy” with the king size bed. Very comfortable. Bathroom and amenities were definitely vintage, but very very clean. Did not see much of staff over the weekend but checking in was easy and polite. Spent some time on the porch and had quite a few nice conversations with other travelers. If you expect the Ritz this is not for you but if a clean comfortable and friendly stay is what you want, it is here.

There is some noise from the highway outside.

The location, authenticity, upkeep, parking and parking lighting, welcome, staff, communication were great. All of the appliances worked. The towels and shower pressure were great.

The cabin (Moonbeam) was somewhat musty, even when I kept the a/c on dehumidify. Perhaps a small dehumidifier and/or Arm and Hammer moisture absorbing hangers in the closet would help. Also, a minor thing, but the string of lights on the outside porch did not work.
