It is truly a break and a treat for us from the regular grind of life that we had been looking forward to. This trip to Asheville we celebrated our daughter Carina's 14th birthday--thank you so sweetly for the card, gourmet popcorn, and San P welcome gift for her 🤗 She was beaming! After a day at Biltmore yesterday, our stay here was the cherry on top!!! Thank you for everything from amazing views and comfort to meals prepared and served by some of the kindest people we have met so far. Shower pressure in Main Inn could be improved, but overall fine.

The room was very comfortable, we had everything we needed for a wonderful visit. The view outside our room was of the golf course which was spectacular. Our favorite part of the trip was sitting in the rocking chairs in the hallway looking at the view of the back of the hotel. The second favorite part of our trip was rocking in the magnificent chairs in front of the fireplace, it was so relaxing. The Saturday night Prime Rib buffet is stellar! My husband likes prime rib, I love seafood. It was amazing and both of us truly enjoyed.

The Grove Park Inn is always lively, calm, refreshing, elegant and rustic, rejuvenating, and fun. The big fireplace is so inviting. The views are stunning. The air is clean. The staff is warm, helpful, easy to find when something is needed, knowledgeable and professional. The old elevator is cool, I love I can open the old original windows. The bed is comfy and the pillows were perfect. The vibe is eclectic...families, romantic couples, wedding parties, reunions, golfers, outdoor enthusiasts...you will fit in and be inspired.

The athletic facilities had short hours. They didn't open until 7?8? I got up at 5am and wanted to go for a run but was warned of bears but the gym wasn't open yet so I went and hung out with coffee until it was light. Once light, I tried to go for a run but did almost step on a bear so I came back. I waited until a bit later and reran the same route and the bear was gone. So, I wish the gym was open 24 hours.

Pool was excellent. Staff was courteous and helpful. Food was good. Great Hall nightly entertainment was very good. Trolley pickup and drop off at hotel was nice. Concierge staff were helpful each time we needed something.

Upon arrival, assistance where to check in if not using valet parking would have been helpful and not so stressful. Also, the garage hotel did not work for the 7 days. Card said invalid. We just pressed assistance when exiting so worked out ok.

The lobby, bars and restaurants were very pretty and really had a cozy feel even though they were expansive.

The rooms had popcorn ceilings (ours was flaking), the closet’s rod was so low that shirts could not hang without hitting the floor-forget about hanging a dress! Our sink leaked and literally soaked the hair dryer and wet the floor.

The room was a good size and comfortable in both bed and furnishings. I liked the size of the bathroom and the beautiful tiles in the shower. The view was of the golfcourse and very green and pretty. I liked having a choice of restaurants on the main floor. I'm glad we could park our own car as we came and went a lot and it is easier than using a valet for everything.

I think that parking should have been included in the high cost already paid to come to this resort. I paid $30/day for amenities that I did not use, but others do not have to pay for parking that they did not use. Of course we have a car: people can hardly walk to this location dragging their luggage behind them. You have the space, so parking hardly seemed like it needed to be added on. Unfortunately, the prices were so high that we could not visit the spa or other amenities, but we did meet other classmates in the on site restaurants for dinners, and that was convenient. Some of the charges just seemed like nickel and diming people because you can.

Great service from the Reservation manager who celebrated our anniversary with a complimentary bottle of champagne. The 2nd room he located for us had a great view and it was roomier than the original. Our 2 evenings of dinner on the property were wonderful food and service.

First room they checked us into was terrible. Last room on a hall next to a maintenance room that was partially open and padlocked. Window was too short to see any "view". Room cramped.

COLD in Winter in most all big areas and near windows- (understand it is old and windows allow views), NO food was available anywhere 10:30-11:30am on a weekday- what??? There was a restaurant on property open (not owned by GPI) that was NOT offered to us (we found out later), fridge in room had to be turned on so the wine we brought was warm when we wanted it- they should put a sign somewhere

The property was a work of art. great stone work and design.

The part I didn’t like about my stay, was having to pay $35.00 for over night parking. The front desk assured me I would not be charged to park. But I was. Add that on the other hidden fees, it came to $90.00 extra. I think that’s a bit much, considering the room cost. Would I stay there again? No. it’s a very pretty place. But I think this hotel is for people with a lot of money. And that’s not me!

The service and the staff were all outstanding. The physical location and the views were wonderful. We will definitely return to this property. The golf course staff was also wonderful, and the course was in great shape.

The rooms in the old section are in need of updating. The rooms were the least impressive of our experience. In addition, the food and drink prices were excessive. I understand that resort experiences come with resort pricing. However, I was paying for six people in three rooms, and $20 for a BLT (although a really good BLT) is still excessive. Two cocktails were $48. My meals and drinks were $2,200 in two days. I think you could still make a fair profit with less aggressive pricing. That will slow me down a little bit from coming back. The clubhouse and golf facilities were a bit run down and did not match the beauty of the course.
