Elmwood 1820 Bed & Breakfast Inn0

Gorgeous inn, beautiful room, comfy bed and bedding, nespresso coffee/coffee maker-- so much about this place is wonderful. We especially loved the porch, and sat on it whenever we had the chance: in the afternoon with a glass of complementary wine, in the evening after the wedding festivities ended, in the morning eating the super beautiful and yummy breakfast! Also enjoyed the easy walk through the neighborhood to the downtown and riverfront. The hosts were awesome, too.

This was the most wonderful place. The owner is a very pleasant and nice man. Will definitely return often. People of the area were so nice and interested in who we were and where we're from. Lovely town. And, last but not least, Miss Lemmon. She is the Front Desk Manager. Always checking in on us. I must add she is one of the most beautiful cats I have ever seen.

The Elmwood is the finest stay in Washington. A personable staff that truly cares from greeting you at the door to offering dining on the beautiful wraparound porch. Richard has kept a nostalgic vibe while updating the necessary features for a seamless first class experience.

Our room seemed a touch warm in the early morning hours.

Wonderful breakfast. Delicious, scrumptious, fresh and outstanding. Excellent portion size. More than enough to get me going for the day, but not so much as to slow me down and feel bloated. I drink a lot when I eat, so loved having all three (coffee, water, and orange juice) at our table for convenience.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The only thing that could've made it any better would have been to have a full size, claw foot tub in our private bath. My wife loves her baths. Other than that, the oversized, dual-head shower was wonderful and nice enough to almost forget her "Bathes"

I didn'i stay. I got the room for my niece and her recent husband for their honeymoon. They loved it

I heard that the place was haunted. My niece, Nancy Weir, is a spiritualist and was hoping to see some ghosts, but no luck. But she had a vivid dream about a civil war era woman.

Few times in memory have I been so thoroughly impressed with the forethought of anything. Every detail and experience appeared to be thought through and nothing seemed to be left to "good enough". Check in was seamless, ambiance was engaging and interesting, plethora of sitting areas available, bedding and sheets were better than home and evening drinks were lovely.

The price was a bit much but it was exceptional in my opinion. Its an old house(1820) and I am sure when more people are staying there will be more noise. At the same time that gives it its charm. We were one of two couples there and it was like we had the house to ourselves.

Delicious, gourmet breakfast. Served in elegant style on the verandah. The Writer's room was cozy and tastefully decorated with lots of interesting books to read. The entire Inn is like an art gallery with fascinating pieces from around t he world. The staff and Owners were so welcoming and accommodating. We definitely want to return.

The breakfast was exceptional and a delight. Yogurt, strawberries and granola. Followed by cheesy eggs, sausage, scone and outstanding blueberry bread pudding.

It would have been nice for the shower (although adequate) to have been more powerful, but I also appreciate that the house has retained its character and a modern power shower would not been in keeping.

The breakfast each day was different, and exceptionally delicious and our rooms were gorgeous! The entire home is gorgeous and our host was so gracious! Thoughtful treats and drinks in the afternoon/evening and lots to enjoy about Little Washington.

Delicious gourmet breakfast provided. Rooms nicely decorated and comfortable. The inn had beautiful landscaping and the porch was lovely. The bed was very comfortable. Interior decor was amazing. Our host Richard made us feel welcome and at home.

Would have like a small TV in suite and an iron. Balcony for our room was closed off for repairs.
