Very clean and remodeled property. Next door to Food Carts and VooDoo Donuts.

I don't like giving excellent reviews, because the rates increase and the Property becomes popular, and hard to reserve a room.

Excellent location with a friendly staff. Many great little shops and eateries within a few blocks. The property was well kept up, and the room was clean and comfortable. And, though, the hotel being situated on an arterial road, it was very quiet. Definitely will be staying there on my next trip.

If it's not a peak travel time (i.e. holiday or a major event) a "late" check-out time for those with late afternoon flights would be nice. I would have liked to have seen a "smoking area" with a butt can, though I assume that lack keeps transients from frequenting the property. Those are the only 2 trivial negatives I can think of!

The Executive Lodge was spotlessly clean, and the room looked very recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable, and every amenity worked well and was easy to use. We were not looking for frills; we wanted value and a certain location -- on the east side of Portland, and the Executive Lodge met these requirements well. It was also very quiet at night. We did not spend much time in our room, but we slept well and had a good shower every morning. We were able to walk to a variety of neighborhoods in and around the east side of Portland, like Hawthorne. Lots of coffee shops, breakfast cafes, and breweries within walking distance, too. Every other area of Portland was a short and easy drive away, like the Pearl district, the waterfront walkway/parks, and Washington Park. We had a terrific stay. The Executive Lodge was exactly what we wanted and very reasonably priced.

The room smelled slightly of smoke when we first entered, but it dissipated. Having the air conditioning running seemed to help.

Convenient location to tourist sites, free parking on premises, and value. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and had a microwave /fridge /large TV. I like lights not a dark room and this place offered your choice of how you like lights, including in the bathroom. Staff was very nice and informative. Voodoo donuts was across the street and a Mexican restaurant next door.

No coffee maker and iron in the room. In the morning Coffee and muffins are offered free in the office lobby. Also, voodoo donuts across the street offers a great place for morning coffee.

Family-owned/operated hotel. I called in advance, as I had an early flight. Owner set me up in a temporary room on arrival to get some work done until my room was ready. The room far exceeded my expectations, as everything was BRAND NEW (8/2023 stay) with tape still on the mini fridge, hairdryer, etc. For the price, this is honestly the best experience (above expectations) I ever had. Location was convenient with Voodoo doughnuts across the street and plenty of good eats in walking distance. 10/10 would highly recommend staying here (assuming the prices stay low).

Only complaint was the toilet paper being so thin that it disintegrated in your hand if you did not make multiple folds (maybe too much information, but only caveat).

The building looks a bit old but they renovated inside. I believe they are renovating the rest of the rooms, but we didn't really hear anything as we were out the entire time. The room layout is a typical motel layout, but they have small details that make the stay pleasant: clean microwave and fridge, a/c, lamps on each side of the bed that have 2 usb ports each, and a desk & nightstand for 2 people to put their phones, etc. A few clothing hangers, 2 chairs, toiletries, plenty of towels, tissues, towel hooks (behind door). Daily housekeeping and free parking. Bus stop is right outside, light rail station is about 10-15 min walk, and Enterprise is walking distance as well. Voodoo donuts is also right in the back. All the staff we encountered were nice and we didn't really see any shady people around the property as well.

The property manager Tejas.. what a guy!! As per me whoever rates this property 10/10 . It is just because of this man behind the counter. Incredible host & help you with everything with gentle smile on his face. He goes way beyond to make his guests comfortable. As we were on a road trip & car had lot of stuff which we didn’t want to carry to the room for a night. He made sure our car is parked in safe space . Room was squeaky clean. & had beautiful white lights. We had our dinner from nearby Thai food truck. Must try Thai food

The exterior is deceiving and is a little beat up, but all of the rooms are being updated and are a GREAT value for the price. The location is absolutely unbeatable and within literal steps of Voodoo Donuts, two great bars, and excellent food trucks. We were visiting locals who were skeptical (based on previous clientele and reputation) when we told them where we were staying, but they were converted after seeing the rooms and guests. Hotel manager was a gem.

The outside needs a serious upgrade, but they are getting there.

Honestly, an optimal placement if youre a convention goer and willing to walk. It's about a mile from the convention centre, 20 minute leisure walk, and theres plenty of coffee places on the way. They have cable if youre into that, and both a mini fridge(no freezer!) and a microwave. I especially appreciated that they had a blow drier in the bathroom as i totally forgot mine, it was a life saver!

The walls are a wee bit thin, so it does get a little loud between the cars and the.. bar? nextdoor, but its really nothing you cant drown out with some light music or even the tv.

My experience was great. Obviously not a four star hotel, but my experience was very acceptable. Staff helpful and friendly. Room clean. Neighborhood not great but ok. I rented a car so didn't use public transportation. It looked like it would be easy to get around, plenty of buses. My business was not downtown Portland, although I did go into Portland, and finding parking was pretty easy. I should have taken the bus.

There was nothing not to like.
