Nice boutique vibes. They’re trying hard to make it a hipster hangout with a vintage fair one night in the lobby plus DJ, and a weekly comedy night. Also host weekly events to join in with (walking tours etc) Dorm room was spacious and the shared bathrooms were squeaky clean, no complaints there. Kitchen and rooftop area very nice too. #20 bus stop right outside handy for going across the burnside bridge to downtown/station etc. Nice neighbourhood with whole foods and restaurants short walk away. I felt the price was reasonable and would stay again

Hooks needed in the dorm to hang belongings/wet towels. Kitchen was ok but needs towels/paper for drying hands and dishes. Pretty minor stuff. Overall it was a nice place to stay!

This place is an INCREDIBLE value and is run very well for a hostel in the USA. It comes close to Japan's capsule hotels and that's saying something! I would definitely stay here again! Staff was super helpful when I needed to change rooms.

Unfortunately, the hostel is super huge and popular so, your bunkmates are not the most respectful. They will keep their lights on well into the night and make a lot of noise. One thing the hostel could change is make our reading lights dimmer, they are so unnecessarily bright. They will keep you up and it is so common for people to keep them on all night or way past 10pm.

Amazing staff, great air con, great roof top area, lots of social activities for people traveling by themselves or simply not knowing what to do in portland. Tip - until they fix the train to the airport catch bus 12 from the transit centre.

The art gallery area on the ground floor felt like a waste of space. If it could less upright chairs and more beanbags, then it would be more useful. If you want privacy, you should pick a bottom bunk as people can peer over the top. Luggage storage may be a problem for those with hard suitcases, but I think you are bringing too much stuff.

the location is the best, right in the center of the city, bus 20 is right outside the door. tons of walkable places. it’s super clean and comfortable, able to set your own temp in the rooms. the facilities are new and work well. private bathroom and showers. huge lobby with tons of seating, great coffee bar and restaurant. the rooftop makes it shine, when it’s nice weather to sit and chill, have a bite or a drink. best hostel i’ve stayed at in america.

they could do with bigger, more storage spaces in the rooms, the lockers are small, but it’s not a deal breaker. just put your most valuable things in there.

I expected a comfortable and safe space, and what I received was much more that that. The staff are really helpful and friendly, the place is super clean and hygienic, the facilities provided, from the kitchen to the amazing seating spots were amazing. The place is in an amazing location, it's within a walking distance to parks, restaurants, and supermarkets. I really recommend this place, and I would certainly stay in it again if I went to Portland.

I liked everything. There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

Great location near bars, restaurants and public transport. Beautiful lobby and rooftop bar. Everything was super clean and staff was very helpful. Our private room was cozy and bed was very comfortable. Kitchen looked well equipped and laundry was quick and easy to do. We would come back if we are ever in Portland again!

Our only issue was the door to the bathroom - the design didn’t allow to close it properly, so there wasn’t really any privacy.

Super clean and comfortable. This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience. Everything was always clean and the beds felt super private. I loved having the cafe and bar right on site and the rooftop was stellar. It was in a great location - lots to walk to and an easy bus ride to other places I wanted to go!

The lockers were small, and there was some mix up about whose stuff belonged in which locker - however staff were super helpful and nice about getting things fixed!

I liked that there were controls for air conditioning/ heating inside the room, and I think their design where lockers and bathrooms are in a separate area from the bedrooms is smart. Neighborhood is interesting with plenty to do. I liked having a bus stop right outside. Rooftop area is really nice. They have a vending machine where one of the items is the book “Walking With Ramona” - I thought that was sweet.

Staff could be friendlier and more welcoming. Lots of heavy doors that are hard to close without slamming.

The hostel was really clean and the facilities were great with a nice kitchen and common area. When I went it was very quiet (i had a six bed dorm to myself for one night and with one other person for the second night) so I didnt see many people but i could imagine it would be sociable if you went at more of a peak time and I didn't mind it! The reception staff were very nice and the location is fine to get the bus into the city.

The shower room was a little small and didn't have somewhere to put my clean clothes so I put them on the floor and they got a bit soggy.

We enjoyed the simplicity and cleanliness of the whole hotel.

I'd like to have a washcloth. The duvet was too warm for this season. Fortunately, a simple sheet was adequate, but a light blanket would be a useful addition. My husband would have enjoyed being able to walk on the side of the bed that was against the wall. I went to bed first on my accustomed side, and he had to crawl to his side from the foot of the bed.
