We loved how close our room was to the front desk. Parking was fantastic, located right in front of the lobby. We loved how unique the architecture was for the buildings. The building where the restaurant / bar was beautiful as well. The morning staff was very friendly and talkative. The room was immaculate. The sofa bed was very easy to set up and put away. There was plenty of space to put our clothes away. The king-sized bed was huge! The bathroom was plenty stocked with supplies which was fantastic. We also loved how close the oldest and only cocktail lounge Le Mardi Gras was to the hotel. We were able to walk there and walk back within 10 - 15 minutes each way.

The evening check in staff wasn't very friendly and didn't explain the layout of the hotel all that great. The morning check out staff confused us. We thought that they were going to charge us twice by the way she was talking to us. Thankfully we were not.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would book at this hotel again. We booked the annex, which is in a historic building adjacent to the main mansion. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, parking was easy, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Where this hotel really shines is the perfect location. It is a quick walk to Shadyside, Carnegie Mellon's campus, and Pitt's campus. We really enjoyed being able to leave the car parked and walk to meals and both universities.

The room felt a little bit dated, it could use a refresh and update. Also, because of the historic nature of the house, there was no elevator. This was ok for us, but others should be aware of that.

beautiful property with history and charm. common areas were like stepping back in time! My room was in the 3rd floor (old servant chambers) and had lower ceilings and no elevator access past the second floor, but the room was spacious and very clean. I was especially impressed with the large bathroom.

a wedding was taking place during our stay and access to the entire first floor was closed off. we had to exit from a side door and felt like we were sneaking out and disrupting the wedding. this is a beautiful location for a wedding! we just felt bad that the guests had to see us going in and out the side door.

The room was cozy and clean. It was fun to explore the hotel and we loved the art in the hallways and the historical feel of the whole place. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had breakfast one morning and it was a good standard breakfast.

Parking seemed limited although we did always find a spot. If it was busier I could see having to get creative in finding a parking spot. One day around 3 a.m. the recycling was being picked up outside our side of the hotel and it was extremely loud. Neither of these things will stop us from staying here again.

The architectural details and history are phenomenal! The staff was extremely nice and helpful, upon checkin the registar wrote a list of restaurants in the area to try. The rooms are all unique, plenty of parking around the grounds. Location is easy walking distance to Shadyside and Oakland neighborhoods. There is an a la carte breakfast served Thurs - Sunday that is worth checking out. The staff was very responsive to our needs, we had an extended stay and housekeeping is VERY accommodating.

We had one guest sleeping on a pullout sofa and the mattress was a bit thin. The water pressure in the upstairs shower was weak for 3 people showering in a morning.

The property was cool. Rooms were comfy and clean. It was very unique. The person checking us in was fantastic. He was welcoming and nice.

There was a wedding so we didn't actually stay in the mansion so it wasn't quite what we were expecting. You stay in a little house next to it. There also wasn't parking on the property until after the wedding. That would have nice to know. We found street parking and then when we came home after the wedding, we were able to park there. You can hear everything but given the aesthetic of the house, that was expected.

The property was stunning and manicured to perfection. The grand entrance was breathtaking and the dark features were warm and welcoming. I loved the “home” feel of our room and it was simply elegant. Although just outside the city within the busy college town, it was so quiet, you’re quickly whisked away to another world.

The parking was atrocious. We had to tuck our vehicle into a row of shrubbery because parking is very limited and cars are parked just wherever they basically can fit.

i like the italian influence of the building. its beautiful. i like the price. i believe its worth more to stay there but please dont do that😂

honestly theres nothing i didnt like. we have stayed there once before at christmas and it was decorated so beautiful. i love the area. my daughter moved to downtown pittsburgh last october so we come to visit her. we stay downtown sometimes because its close to her but we prefer it at the mansion because its more mellow and my dajghter is only 15 minutes away and she loves coming to that area as well. the price is literally half of what they charge downtown. you have a regular customer with me🙂

the property was beautiful. I love old homes turned into hotels!

we were in the amberson and it would have been nice if there was a keurig machine in that building. there was a coffee maker in-room, but it wasn’t restocked the second morning of our stay. I asked for more and was directed to the Keurig in the main lobby. it had been moved to the basement hallway where there wasn’t a power outlet. the manager on duty finally returned it to the lobby so we could have coffee. also, we requested housekeeping at check in, and the towels were exchanged and bed made, but garbage cans weren’t emptied and coffee wasn’t restocked. would these 2 minor issues stop us from staying there again if we return? maybe not, but it was irritating that these routine housekeeping tasks were overlooked.

- room was good - bathroom was clean - quiet - isolated from street noise on Fifth Ave - breakfast omelet was delicious and generous

- electrical outlets were a bit loose and didn't have a firm grip on my heavy chargers - towels in bathtub were not replaced 9/13 morning service - pillows were all too soft. need a more firm pillow, ended up having to fold a bath towel as a pillow
