December 2023

It was my first time in Charleston and I wanted a hotel that was near everything without being too crowded. I was extremely happy about my stay. The beds and pillows were SO comfortable, the rooms were clean, the breakfast delivery service was excellent, and the location was perfect. I also really appreciated the airport transportation service they offered. I needed to get to the airport super early in the morning, and was worried Uber wouldn’t be available. Their transportation service was a tad more expensive than Uber, but was reliable and got me to the airport right on time.

My only “complaint,” had to do with the WiFi. It worked great on my phone, but I wasn’t able to get it to work on my iPad correctly. I later contacted the facility about it and they assured me that they would look into it. Other than that, no complaints.

Really spectacular historical hotel. 10 minutes away from all the touristic POIs. Very pleasant receptionist(s). AC relatively quiet. Parking for a reasonable price at the hotel.

Artificial chicken eggs at breakfast? At least they tasted really weird/bad - like the ones I ate in China once. And they were already pealed. As we arrived, We had to request an another room because the first one had issues with the (historical:-)) door lock: you get really physical, large keys. The second room hat also issues with the Lock but not that much is the first one. Where I somehow understand the wish to keep the historical locks etc, there should be a way to not bother people with keys that can be lost easily and with locks that jam that badly. AC was strong but quiet, still, I had to turn it off, it was blowing too strong and directly at the bed/pillows region.

All the staff was superlative. We especially appreciated the gracious and friendly table service of the breakfast staff. The location was perfect for walking the historic district (2 blocks to City Market, 1 bock to Gibbs Museum). Parking was available directly behind hotel just 10 feet from the back entrance - and access to the building from front and back required no stairs (!) - unusual in Charleston and a real plus for our group traveling with elderly. Charming open air courtyard and outdoor tables. The wine and cheese hour and sherry all evening were bonuses!

Good location off King Street. Rooms were well appointed. Charming property. Nice wine and cheese and sherry. Staff very professional. The breakfast situation is wonderful (they bring it to your room at the time you select. It’s continental but lots of choices).

We had two rooms (for us and the kids) and our room was very small (kids’ with two queen beds was enormous). The courtyard contributes to some noise (your room opens to an outdoor space with the interior courtyard) but is lovely. Parking is a hassle bc the gate for the lot allay never works so you end up paying each time you exit instead of being able to use the ticket/validation given by the hotel. No restaurant on premises which is ok but means no room service.

Breakfast was just the right amount of selection and food to start the day. Locations was excellent for walking and exploring shops, restaurants and waterfront. Staff was friendly and helpful

Entry to room was challenging as lock was unpredictable as to whether it would turn and release. Bed pillows were not comfortable even with 2. Bed itself was very comfortable. Room was on the 3rd floor, took at least 5 minutes for hot water to enable a shower

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It’s so quaint and charming. The room was gorgeous and the location is right in the center of everything. There was complementary nightly wine and cheese (and other snacks) as well as sherry. That was a such a nice touch. Breakfast was great. There are plenty of food and drink options that you can enjoy in the lovely dining area/courtyard or have delivered to your room. The staff was so nice and helpful. A special thank you to Abby for your kindness. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in Charleston.

Breakfast was weak for the room rates. A spread of goodies would have been better than table service. We skipped the breakfast the second day. We felt it was too basic. 😊

The room was exceptionally clean, floors were immaculate, great shower, bed slept great, the French windows were enjoyed, Direct TV was weak, the room would have served us best equipped with a sofa instead of the small table and two chairs, the armoire was appreciated for our needs, a small kitchenette (microwave) would have suited our needs, parking was a huge plus, location was exceptional. The impression on price is it was a bit steep. $165-$185would have been a good value.

The location was perfect for us given that we didn't have a car and did most of our exploring on foot. The evening wine and cheese was lovely (though get there early bc the snacks go quickly!). Breakfast was adequate; we opted to eat out one of the days (down the street at Millers All Day -- HIGHLY recommend). Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the various courtyards to enjoy breakfast or wine and to relax and play cards.

Quaint historical hotel right on King Street near shopping, the City Market, and restaurants. The room was tastefully decorated with everything we needed and was a comfortable respite after a full day walking around the city. We enjoyed breakfast served to us in the courtyard and coffee available early morning. The parking was handy right outside the hotel.

A tiny issue with the shower drain.

The breakfast was complimentary and very good. We had room service every day and everything we selected was delivered on time and with a smile. Choices included a hard boiled egg, yogurt, fresh fruit, various bread products and pastries, granola cereal, hot and cold drinks. There are no hot foods on the menu. Apart from breakfast, the Inn offers evening Wine and Cheese Reception and 24-hour Concierge service
