Wonderful stay. Will be back in a few months maybe to stay again. The location was perfect. The room was great, I loved the layout with the separated bedroom/living room area. City Market is RIGHT next door and there was a rickshaw stand right outside! Easily walked pretty much all over Charleston from here and it was easy enough to go back to the room for a quick shower before dinner or something like that!

The only thing I could complain about was the record player in the room had a broken needle. I could have brought it up to the staff but we had so much to do I didnt even think about it again! That little detail shouldnt impact my review because I'm sure they would have given me another one but we didnt stay in the room much.

Diane! Our concierge was so helpful when a couple of items were lacking. She was professional, quick, graceful and very responsive to our needs. The food at the hotel was fantastic. Loved the open air but private feeling patio. Loved the dog friendly atmosphere. The location was fabulous. Near the waterfront, carriage tours, historic homes and shopping! The public spaces are hip but beautiful. The room was large and very pretty but not fully set up for comfort and the lighting is terrible because it’s so dim. Romantic but dim.

Above. Especially the lighting. Two adults but without chairs or upholstery for two to sit in - tho plenty of space for seating. Diane was able to snag us a chair so we could both work at computers. Needed another robe hook in the bathrooms. Dirty windows ( room was itself was very clean). Etc. This is a beautiful hotel but it’s had some real wear. It’s popular and we arrived about when they need to get into some touch ups.

We loved the decor and design at this property. We were very close to popular Charleston downtown areas which was a major plus! Beds were super comfy and room layout was perfect!

Parking was an issue. After booking I received an email from the hotels concierge service saying I would receive another email closer to our stay with more information about hotel. I never received that email - I assume it probably would have had some parking information in it. The hotels parking service is insanely expensive! There was a parking garage on the street beside hotel however the ticket readers didn’t work and it only had a manned staff for certain hours - so our vehicle ended up getting stuck in garage at times! Previous hotels we have stayed at in area included parking with room rates or was a way smaller add in fee!

Loved the record player in room, overall vibe, friendly staff, color choices, Frannie and the Fox, sparkling water in the hall, cocktail at checkin!!!

That the room phone didn’t work, hard to reach the front desk (it took me 5 calls from my cell phone), the light bulb on my side of the bed was burnt out, there was lotion in the shower instead of conditioner (I had to get out and that’s when I discovered the room phone didn’t work), I went to use the bathtub faucet instead of hopping back in the shower after waiting 10+ minutes for conditioner only to find the bathtub faucet was broke. I think this was probably a complete anomaly because the hotel is AMAZING and I would absolutely stay there again, assuming other rooms are better and they will fix these issues.

Hotel Emeline was in a great location, walking distance to all the main sites of Charleston and really is a beautiful hotel. The bar/restaurant is great and very popular and the outside courtyard was amazing to enjoy breakfast or a cocktail before dinner! The room was small but clean and overall felt like good value for money, especially compared to some of the other hotels in the same vacinity. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!

I had a very unfortunate incident at the coffee shop which is part of the hotel where the lid was not secured and hot coffee spilled out over my hand. This was extremely painful but an excellent hotel staff member named Allie was able to treat it immediately to relieve some of the pain. Although the coffee shop staff were not great, when I explained the situation to the hotel managerial team they refunded my entire stay and were extremely apologetic - a true example of an amazing level of service and genuine compassion for their guests. We will definitely be back!

Hotel Staff was very lovely, professional and accommodating. Each and very employee we met was exceptional. From the moment we entered until we left. We felt very welcomed and special. THANK YOU. Room was nicely appointed…just abit dark with not alot of light. But everything else was so awesome it was very easy to over come. The hotel resuturant—Frannie and the Fox—had a nice atmosphere and we really enjoyed the outdoor spaces. We ended our days there with several glasses of wine. What a treat! Only negative—and it was a BIG negative—was one particularly [extremely] RUDE staff member of the resturant. Her name was Colleen. Wow. It was dissappointing especially being our last evening there. Our entire table was shocked by her behavior especially when everyone else has been so…truly exceptional. I was determined to not let it ruin our eveing. Maybe something was happening in her life—who is ever to know?—but somehow I sensed that was her personality. I own my own company and have numerous employees…I would not have let her to have access to my customers. GREAT loction. We will be back.

Colleen at Frannie and the Fox. She needs a major attitude adjustment.

The hotel brought a special package with treats for our birthday celebration- it was an amazingly beautiful touch and so appreciated! What a surprise!

It would be nice if in addition to the coffee provided, that there would also be tea. Or the availability to make it in the room. We loved the amenities of the hotel!

Property location was excellent. Located within minimal walking distance from all the shops and restaurants we wanted to visit. Very easy Uber ride to the marina where we docked the boat.

There wasn't much to dislike. The only complaint I would have is that our toilet was continuously running every 30 seconds. We were only in the room to shower and sleep so it really wasn't a deal breaker for me and my wife used it as white noise to help her sleep.

We loved our bed, the linens and the staff. The courtyard was a perfect place for gathering, and the fireplace lended to perfect ambience. Every single staff member was friendly and informative, and made us feel like true guests of Charleston. The location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see!

The air-conditioning didn’t work one of the nights of our stay and two of the nights of our friends stay. I’m hoping this was a temporary problem, but would check it out before I stayed there again.

The room had 2 king beds! Great for a friends trip. Sheets and towels were nice.

No safe in the room. No closet in the room. No water bottles in the room. You fill up a glass container by the elevator and use glasses in the room. I’ve seen the 20/20 where cleaning staff uses the same wipe on the toilets and the glassware. Nothing was sealed and sanitized. It is a bit pricy for the space. You also have to request cleaning service if you need towels or clean linens. Only done if requested in advance. We requested for all days and Saturday was a no show. For $3500 for 4 days I expect fresh towels!
