Holiday Inn Nashville Vanderbilt, an IHG Hotel

Staff were great and very polite and welcoming. Shuttle Bus service was brilliant. They give you the drivers phone number, and you can call to request drop-off /pick up from anywhere in the Shuttle area (which is a decent size). Bed comfortable. Pool OK (though no shower that I could see) Breakfast buffet (weekend only) was pretty good.

Hotel is dated and the room/corridor carpets were very dirty. There was a nasty "drains" smell from the aircon - which although it worked well, was very noisy. The live music on offer was consistently poor - especially in comparison to The Local which was just across the road.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. The shuttle bus that took us to a restaurant was a nice feature. We even got the recommendation for the restaurant from the hotel staff, and it did not disappoint. Having the security feature of needing a room key to operate the elevator helped us to feel safer.

The only negative I can think of, and it is not entirely the hotel's fault, but when we arrived, it was dark and raining which made it difficult to find the back entrance to the hotel from the parking lot. It was not well lit or well marked for those conditions, I guess.

The valet service and shuttle service was excellent Maid and others were very good too. The exception was the hostess at the Commodore bar/restaurant, very unfriendly and terrible at her job...

The hostess at the Commodore totally ignored us as we stood right next to her and also the sign reading "please wait to be seated." The second time she came back we asked for a seat and she waved us toward the bar, but there were not two seats together and she made no effort to correct that. Onthe third try, she declined to serve us, and Never Ever did greet us or give us a wait time.. Btw, there was an empty table right in front of us. We never went back, we did find there were plenty of great restaurants with great serviice all around the neighborhood however.

Everyone was welcoming and kind. The room was clean and cozy, decent balcony view. Housekeeping staff kind and attentive to our needs. They have live music every night in an adjoining little restaurant and a pool too!

There isn't a way to get a cord from the TV, to hook up our devices, even if for a small fee to "rent them" during our stay. That would be a decent thing to offer. My son was unfortunately stuck in the room until concert time due to a sprained ankle and him having his stuff to watch on TV would've made his stay a bit better.

This is more of a hotel versus motel, as such there is no free breakfast as you might expect. That said, they do have both a coffee bar with pastries and a restaurant with the choice of a full buffet or you can order from a menu. The room were very nice and the location was perfect for my needs. A velvet service is available if you desire, but not mandatory. Parking was approximately $25, so again, like a hotel.

I did not have any real concerns with my stay, everything was pretty much as expected. There was some renovation work going on, but it was not an issue.

This is my go-to Nashville hotel. It's not luxury so don't expect that. I like it because it's affordable but also the location is great. Centennial Park is across the street. I like having a wide open space to walk or go for a run. Downtown Broadway is really congestive. I need to breathe. Also if you can't make it downtown-2 miles to eat. There are really nice restaurants beside this hotel. The shuttle service is great. They take you back and forth to Broadway, and the Gulch and a few other places. Really convenient. Vanderbilt University is adjacent making this a vibrant area. Clean rooms, and a a nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast that is also host to some great acts at night. All in all a comfortable hotel.

I liked everything.

The staff was exceedingly helpful, particularly when we prepared to leave. My wife got sick during the stay and they provided a wheelchair and help to get her into the vehicle. The porter was tremendously helpful.

Everything cost additional money. Even cheap motels provide free parking and some type of breakfast. At this location, even coffee in the lobby was additional costs. With parking cost, I could have stayed elsewhere at about 2/3 of the cost. I will not stay at this location again.

The location and the shuttle service was top notch.

Well we ate supper at the restaurant and the waitress was rude. I’m not sure if they were short staff that particular night, or if she was just having a bad night. We almost walked out but we wanted to listen to the music, so we stayed. She did change her attitude a little. My daughter who worked as a waitress, was upset how rude the waitress was and stated that no matter how bad of night she had working as a waitress, she never would have been rude to a customer. However the food came quit once we did get our order in and the staff that brought it to our table were very nice. The food was amazing! We realize everyone can have a bad day from time to time, but they should never take it out on someone else.

centrally located- convenient shuttle!

We really liked the breakfast buffet option (we added it when we booked the hotel). There was a nice selection of hot breakfast items (bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, hash brown casserole, or fried eggs) as well as fruit, breads, sweet rolls, yogurt. etc. Juices were also available with the breakfast buffet. The hotel was nicer than we expected and had a very helpful and friendly staff. One of the biggest perks for us was the FREE shuttle to downtown Nashville (and various other locations). The shuttle operated 7:00 AM (I think it started at 7:00) to midnight. We really appreciated the convenience and ease of use. When you're off property, you just call the shuttle driver and they will pick you up as soon as they are able. We tipped well for this outstanding service. We also appreciated the late-night self-serve snack area (you have to pay, but it's all self-serve and self-pay).

Unfortunately, the pool is fairly close to the lobby and some of the guests would come go to the front desk after getting out of the pool, making the floor pretty slippery. The hotel did have caution signs to warn guests of the condition.
