Everything was luxurious from the bed linens to the room decor. The hallways were pleasant to walk in and guests were relaxed and pleasantly conversational as a result. The robin blue egg walls in bathroom. Silhouttes painted on the elevator doors. Shower cap in room.

The air freshener piped in from air vents. Noticeable as soon as entering the hotel, and pleasant. However, after 3 hours of smelling it in my hotel room, I was getting a serious headache and as an asthmatic, strong smells can bring on asthma attacks. I phoned guest services and they said there was nothing they could do. I asked them to look into it for me, and very soon I noticed that my room began to smell neutral. So there was something they could do about it. This one event has made me cautious to not return to the hotel, because I'm concerned that the next time it will not be handled efficiently. I had prepaid for my room, so had the issue not been dealt with effectively, there would have been a conflict as I would not have been able to stay in the hotel.

Beautiful and meticulously restored, great historic bar with amazing food.

$40 resort fee charged but not disclosed at reservation, nor explanation what amenities they covered, since we didn’t use any. Not robes in room. Clothes steamer didn’t work. Had waited 15 minutes for steam; no steam although light was on. Called front desk. Waited 30 minutes for new steamer; that one didn’t work either. Called again. This time they sent iron and ironing board. Late for meeting.

The price we paid is more than I typically pay for a room rate. I paid it because my wife wanted to stay at the Galvez. The hotel was being remodeled but that wasn’t seen in the room rates. I traveled a great deal for business before I retired. The hotel Galvez will be quite nice once the remodel is completed.

The room was no cleaned and clean towels had to be requested. Additional the hotel phone system was being upgraded and did not work at all during our stay.

Beautiful facility, like walking back in time. I loved everything about this hotel, they thought of all the details. The lobby is grand but welcoming. the dining room comfortable, we only had breakfast, but the food was very good and prices reasonable.

I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. It is an old hotel totally refurbished, so the rooms are small, but comfortable.

The ground floor is absolutely beautiful

Not much improvement in guest rooms considering the much higher cost. No grab bar by tub, no safety mat for tub, bed side lamp did not work, cable out in room first night / no offer to move us

The service is incredible. Every staff person seems to enjoy their work and was really ready to help.

I didn't understand the full extent of the renovations, nor did I understand that certain things were seasonal. I felt like I was staying during the 'get ready for the season' time.

Location and it was beautiful!

Breakfest took so long. And a bit pricey.

We enjoyed our stay. Very pretty and comfortable. Food was good. Even though the pool was packed the bartenders kept their cool and were very attentive. They did a great job for being only 4 of them in such a small area. The girls at the pool bar, Destiny, Birdie, Karleigh, and Kylie, are great workers. The valet service was very good too.

For a huge hotel; the pool is too small. Need to add a pool for family with kids. The pool bar was too small. Didn't know our room would be adjoining rooms - at 7:00am in the morning I could hear the parents yelling at their kids, and the kids crying. Maybe for adjoining rooms book families next to families. Our room was an ocean view room but the bed didn't face the ocean so in order to get the ocean view we had to stand at the window; since there's no balcony, we couldn't enjoy it the way we wanted too. I add this about the view because you "pay extra" for an ocean view room.

The valet manager (im guessing) was so amazing and friendly. He called us by name every time he seen us and was so awesome. The room was nice and comfy. Check out, the lady was so friendly and the staff for the hotel was so nice to us. We stayed 4 nights total.

I felt like the restaurant and some staff looked down on us because we weren't well dressed. The customer service was not the best at first but did get better as the stay went on. I packed for a vacation, not a dinner party and didn't bring a collard shirt. We asked to move to a different seat in the restaurant due to the chairs on the lower part were uncomfortable for my wife and they didn't seem to happy to accommodate. Didn't offer bread unlike all the other tables and took forever to even offer a refill. Needs a Bigger mini fridge. Only fit maybe 4 small cans.

We stayed for a staycation for our 5 year anniversary. The weather canceled a helicopter ride and photo/ video shoot in the area. I spoke with the hotel and asked could we capture footage there , they were willing to work with us. The staff, bar, restaurants were amazing , no complaints. I loved the 1920s feel with modern flare. Can’t wait to go back !
