La Quinta by Wyndham Waxahachie

the location of the hotel was perfect for us because we were attending the Renaissance festival. we arrived and promptly got assisted in check in. got to the room which was tidy and clean. the hotel never had a “smell” and the breakfast was good and worked well with our schedule.

wish there more entrances and exits to the parking lot was a bit confusing to only have the one. the bedding had a few—what looked to be ink stains. the remote was not the best due to the plate cover for the batteries was missing making it temperamental. the mirror light and clock did not work in the bathroom. also the vent fan in the bathroom did not work.

The location of the place was fantastic, and the room was spacious and comfortable with an exceptional level of cleanliness. The breakfast provided was decent.

I had a disappointing check-in experience with the staff at the front desk. Despite the hotel not being busy, they made multiple customers wait until exactly 3:00 p.m. to check in. The staff member was distracted by their phone and treated customers poorly. It was an unnecessary and unpleasant experience.

Room in general was roomy enough. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bath was clean and linens were excellent quality.

Chairs were barely acceptable—“easy chair” was brick hard, desk chair was broken and cheaply made. There was no “welcome packet” with general instructions for the tenant, not even a TV channel guide. Clerk at reception was aloof and hard to understand because of strong accent.

Staff was helpful always available. Rooms were very clean and neat. Showers were awesome! I loved the "hidden" closet behind the big mirror! Also, loved that the fridge wasn't out in the open. It was kept behind a drawer. All in all, I really liked our experience. This is my second time coming to this hotel and it will certainly not be my last time!

Honestly the only thing I didn't like was a certain art piece in the room. It was a picture of I believe masquerade masks. I for one am terrified of those type of masks so I could just be being biased because my mom didn't seem to mind it.

We booked about one hour before arriving. The rate we got through Booking.Com was FANTASTIC! The room was good and met our needs of spending the night.

You can tell there was an attempt on making an old property look better. Initial looks are great until you start looking closely and you start seeing their attempts. Our window on the third floor whistled all night long from the winds outside. The breakfast was a bit disappointing in that the biscuit part of the mini sausage biscuits were so hard you had to poor gravy on them to make them edible.

The rooms were huge and the beds were very comfy. Black out curtains make sleeping in so easy. And they are allowed us to have a 12 o’clock check out. Everything was clean! The bathroom has a mirror with a touch screen night light built in to it. They give you plenty of towels and wash rags instead of your typical hotel that hardly give you any and you have to ask for more. All around, I enjoyed every bit of the stay.

There were only 2 pillows on the bed and the tub remote didn’t work. The walls are also very thin so you can hear all people walking by and doors slamming shut.

Astonished! Shocked! what can you say about an inn that transforms itself from a marginal dump into a candidate listed in a different league of service & aesthetic. The management may have been told to hit the road or else. The site had an all-day coffee kiosk with accessories. Not the Four Seasons but an accomplishment of recognition along with a new version of the traditional luggage cart, which was stubborn to steer. I’ve never seen this version, easily managed by the handicapped & everyone else that I observed. Also, more compact & numerous! What a small but relieving sight to any fatigued baggage-laden traveler. The staff at the front desk were in white shirts & be black pants, both energetic & welcoming. Efficiency at work as an example to the rest of American workers who have become addicted to Monopoly money. The room was also a vast improvement with well organized towels, lights all working, no torn furniture, and AC to die for. The room was freezing within 5-8 minutes of my arrival. plenty of hot water even at 10pm or 2300 hours. The three levels were full; that’s a lot of damned hot water so late in the evening. I have not been to the free breakfast because I usually leave very early due to traffic on the highway back to Whitney. This new version of a pleasant & efficient inn will be my first stop when I return to old Waxahachie. I will not disappoint the naysayers who want to hear some surgical criticism: Replenish the furniture when possible so that chairs don’t suck you into their shell due to worn out springs, add a bench to the desk makes the desk a table for eating as well as working. And, please junk that rolling office chairs, which squeak and become bumper cars insofar as control. The office chairs, for example at the Double Tree @ Campbell Center in Big D are some of the most comfortable & usable ones that come to mind as an example for management to try.

Excellent price! Front desk representative Charlotte is always helpful, kind and efficient. I have stayed here before.

I stayed in Rm #333. MaKayla S. card for housekeeping was in my room. The mattress pad was very wrinkled, sugar, and creamer packets were not provided. A light bulb 💡was out in the bathroom. They have made changes to their breakfast offerings. I chose Not to eat. The breakfast used to be very good.

We chose this LaQuinta because of the location and value. We arrived late on a Friday night. Shortly after we entered our room, the AC stopped working. The room was already warm from not being used, and when we called the front desk, we were told it would be the morning before a technician could look at it. They didn’t have any more double rooms available but they sent one of their staff up to look at it. I believe that she may have been the manager of the hotel. She’s very memorable because she has a sassy hairstyle with purple tips. She was so polite and concerned that we would be uncomfortable without the AC. She offered to get us a couple of fans. By the time she came back with the fans, the AC kicked back on. But she left the fans with us in case it were to happen again. We had a 2 night stay and we’re very comfortable. Also should note that she was a very hard worker- wearing dual hats of checking in guests at the front desk and cleaning rooms as well as trouble shooting the AC. And she was always smiling and very accommodating.

It looked like there may have been a ceiling leak in the main hallway of the ground floor. The ceiling and walls were peeling. But there was no active leak at the time of our visit.

The front desk clerk was very friendly and provided a quick check in. The AC in our original room was not working, so they offered us another room with no argument or hesitation. The water pressure in the hotel is the best we have ever had, in any hotel we have ever stayed in.
