The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. It's easy to get to off the highway. Also, though we didn't use it, there was a free shuttle service available for guests to get to places within a reasonable distance of the hotel.

I wish we were warned they are currently renovating. While the price wasn't the most expensive, I felt like it should have been reflective of the fact that a lot of the hotel is in disarray. I'm in a walking boot due to an injury, and an environment like this could have made things very hazardous for me. I can only imagine if there's a guest in a wheelchair or using some other kind of apparatus to help them walk or get around. It's not the safest with that plastic over the carpet.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times during our children's years at Christopher Newport University. We were in town for our daughter's graduation. The hotel is in a good location and is very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. I would like to give kudos especially to front desk attendant, Duane. He is just a joy and makes you smile!! When we checked in, I remembered him from our last stay at the hotel. I left a favorite new dress at the hotel, and when I called back, he answered the phone and took care of everything. I received my dress just a couple days after. He had gift wrapped it and wrote a nice note that accompanied it. It was so very much appreciated.

the lady at the front desk went above and beyond and printed us a list of her favorite seafood restaurants. It was our first time in Virginia and didn’t know where to eat. She brought the list to our room. I’ve been in a lot of hotels and never had someone so nice. Besides that, the breakfast is so much better than most places. Real eggs and gravy, sausage and biscuits. Fresh fruit yogurt etc etc etc. There’s a nice older gentleman like a grandpa cooking it and a grandma lady making the waffles for you. after COVID seems your lucky to get cold cereal but this place has a home touch.

The location is perfect. Right next to the hotel there's "2nd Street" restaurant, very fancy with nice ambience, service and meal. Gas station. Bank. Shopping area. The hotel stuff is amazing! Dwayne was very helpful and is a nice person! He helped us with the check in and late check out, we have got a quiet room as requested. He recommended us a good sea food restaurant as well! The kitchen guy is very nice and helpful! Breakfast was good. Not much variety, but everything was tasty. Generally, you pay reasonable price for great location and service.

I liked the free complementary breakfast, it was up to par and seemed fresh every hour for a limited time that it was served. My daughter especially liked the pool. Wish it had a hot tub as advertised after all the activities we've done, would have definitely made the experience for me.

The rooms need renovating. Definitely not worth the price if the door looks broken into and little things like that. Curtains are terrible. Found a pube in the bathtub but didn't make a big deal about it - but it was right there where the soap goes. Not sure how that was overseen. Bed was pretty hard to liking but pillows made up for it. Breakfast could have tasted a little better but it is free.

The hotel was in a great location and right off of I-64. There are plenty of restaurants, fast food joints, gas stations and etc... right next to the hotel. And.......there is a Starbucks within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel staff was amazing, and extremely pleasant to talk with. The breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast. It was nothing to write home about, but it did fill us up.

All in all the hotel was great for our one night stay. The only real complaint I have was about the beds. The beds were ok, but could have been a tad bit more comfortable. We had two queen beds in our room and both felt like you would roll off if you were not close to the center of the bed.

courteous and friendly staff, clean and sanitary room and common areas, extra sanitary precautions ( gloves, wrapped utensils) in the breakfast area, good choices for a hot breakfast. contactless check-in and check-out is an easy efficient way to travel

would appreciate a shaving/ makeup mirror in the bathroom, either on an extension arm or fixed to a wall. difficult to lean over the sink to see well

When we first arrived from San Antonio, for my Grandfather's funeral, I asked if we could check in a little early. We had been on the road for over 24 hours due to traffic and construction. Darius was kind and allowed us to check in a few hours early. This was so helpful and greatly appreciated. We also awoke to a full HOTT breakfast and not just a brown box/bag like other Hotels. The rooms were clean, and the bed was nice and comfortable. The fitness room was also open, which was fantastic. I needed to work out after being in a vehicle for over 24 hours!! Pool was also available and is indoors, but we didn't have time to enjoy it. This was one of the best places to stay!! From beginning to end the staff was AMAZING!! I have to also give a shout out to the lady in the food area. I believe she said her name was Cristina. She was kind and helpful. Also, she made gravy for one of the guests who just so happened to ask, if they had any for the biscuits. This level of customer service is greatly appreciated and missing in many places. I'm so stoked to see Hampton Inn has such kind and attentive employees. Thank you for making a tough time for our family, easy and memorable.

Front desk staff was pleasant; Duane is so personable and funny and made check in a breeze. Room was clean/sanitized; bed/pillows comfortable, A/C cold, water pressure good/hot, mini fridge/microwave in room. I appreciated the hot breakfast in the am. Waffles, grits, eggs, sausage as well as to go items/boxes. Pool seemed adequate but I didn’t go swimming. Seems centrally located and close to restaurants/gas stations/shops. Was in town for one night..this was perfect spot.

Off a side street so I got a little twisted around with directions but once I got the hang of it, all was well. Look for 2nd street bistro and you’ll be okay.

Duane at the front desk made us feel welcome and was super helpful. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and just gave us the best customer service.

The bathroom had a funny odor and we had to change rooms.
