I was very impressed with the architecture and design of the hotel itself, especially the interior and artwork in the lobby/reception area. My room was appropriately styled to match the historical but luxurious nature of the hotel. Additionally, the hotel has a skybridge connecting to downtown Roanoke over the train tracks; very convenient.

My only complaint is that my room was a bit smaller than I anticipated. This is at no fault of the hotel as it was merely an expectation. The room still provided ample space for everything I needed and was disappointing in no other way.

Amenities are great - several restaurant and bar choices. Live music added great atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful and the location to walk downtown was perfect.

Breakfast was OK - expected better for the price. The hotel is mostly outdated - lots of aging decor and fixtures. Bathroom had leaky handles, caulking falling off, etc. the pool is very small and not usable for adults with so many kids in it. The picture on the website does not show reality - looks much bigger in photo.

Staff, formal dining room. Bathroom wasn't that clean. I found a used Q-tip on the floor in the bedroom and something else that I can't remember that was sub-par housekeeping. All amenities were fine & I love the Roanoke Hotel and Conference Center again.

Extremely disappointed in booking.com. I booked using Booking.com back in Aug 1 2022 for wedding anniversary Nov 5 2022 and requested a room with top floor view of mountains. I paid an upgraded charge. When we arrived the hotel didn't know anything about our request or upgrade charge. They said it went to Booking.com, and Booking.com did not negotiate our request. The only way to have gotten what we wanted was to call the hotel directly! Never using Booking.com again, deleting the app and spreading the news!

Wonderful staff,everyone was very helpful and accommodating. Our female server at the Pine Club was especially helpful and kind as was the Concierge/Door person

The hotel staff should make note of the roof line damage above room 444. These tiles flapped and banging during last night's windstorm,causing a lot of noise above our room. Of course the weather was out of comtrol but the tiles on such an old hotel could hurt someone on the ground

this is an old historic hotel which I loved . loved exploring around the hotel. what made our trip we had my birthday/ anniversary and my grandson graduation dinner with his parents and his girlfriend parents in the regency room. we had the private room when I spoke to Drew to book it he was awesome he said y’all are having one big party. Brittany our waitress made our night she was super. We stay in the private room from 6:30 to 9 and they never hurried to get us out and said we can stay as long as we want. Hats off to the chef food was delicious. I know you can walk to downtown but we were here only two days so I didn’t get to do that .

We ask for housekeeping fir the next day which our request was not put in. parking is expensive. even to self park it is 15 valet is 21 which we had to do my husband can not walk up the hill .

This is a grand hotel that lives up to the hype. The room was spacious and elegant. We loved the Pine Room outdoor seating with spectacular views, great food and wonderful service. The staff was SO nice. We often feel out of place at upscale hotels but everyone made us feel right at home and the history in all the pictures around the hotel was a great bonus.

My only improvement would be the size of the bathroom. It was a little small for such an upscale stay, but I'd rather have the room in the bedroom so.....

At first glance the hotel made us feel we were in Europe! Beautiful architecture, amazing historic hotel! I only wish I knew how special it was prior to us staying there, as we did not eat any peanut butter soup! Lol next time. The man who brought up our room service was so professional. The room was so clean, so quiet, and the marble bathroom gorgeous! The view of the mountains was incredible. We will make the hotel Roanke a vacation destination for sure!

The pool was crowded, so we were unable to enjoy the pool and hot tub.

Actually liked everything. This is a very large self facility that you really don't have to leave, food, drink and fun all in one spot. I do think there were spots where updates or maintenance will be required soon.

One elevator was out...so I'm being nit picky. Everything else exceeded expectations.

Check- in person, Kylee was exceptional in giving us a room that saved us lots of money since the booked room was not ready upon our arrival. The 6th floor room was very quiet and comfortable. The main dining room room had super good servers, Craig & Skip were special and top-notch. The cooks made us some delicious omelets...thanks again.

That our room at 4pm check-in was not ready. We went to the bar x a half hour and checked back and still not ready so Kylee gave us another room that saved us about $300.00 overall.
