Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Winchester, VA

The property is located in a large shopping complex so there are a lot of places to eat. The staff was very pleasant and supplied bottled water when we arrived Luggage carts were available to help with the luggage The room was clean modern and up to date Everything worked bed was comfortable Bathroom was spacious Breakfast area was clean and selections were good Eggs and bacon waffles fresh fruit nice selection of juice hot and cold cereal breads 24/7 coffee and tea

The refrigerator didn’t have a freezer compartment so I couldn’t freeze my ice packs but they had a ice machine so I was able to keep things cold for the next day

We liked the room, the staff was also courteous and breakfast was fine. This was our third stay here and we have always enjoyed this facility.

With this being our third stay here, this time the walls seemed paper thin as we could hear almost everything the neighbors could say about taking a shower, what products the other person should use, etc. The big barking dog somewhere in the same hallway didn't help nor did the group of people socializing in the hallway until at least 11 PM. They could have gone into a room. We had tried to go to bed at 9:30 but sleep was impossible with all the goings on. These were mature adults not kids. The mattress was hard as a rock as well.

Breakfast was AMAZING!! Waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, English muffins, yogurts, cereals, oatmeal,, juices,, coffee, sausage biscuit w/gravy (special today). Location is right for hopping on Rt 11 or 81. Property was clean and parking lot well lit and clean. Plus there are several restaurants in the same plaza. Outback, Carabas, and couple smaller. Big plus is Alamo Ale House (movie theater, ale house). There is also an Aldi's grocery store.

The hotel is switching to the "Choice" brand and being brought up to standards. There are growing pains. Our room phone did not work (phone line issue). Our room key notoriously did not work the first 2 days. That was a procedure issue. Ice machine out of order (made call for service) Would I stay again...... YES!...because I met the GM and she is determined to workout the issues and I believe in her convictions (she is good people).

I stayed at this hotel on the way up North, and really liked the pet friendliness as well as the easy on/off from the Interstate. I decided to book the same hotel on the way back South although it was a bit more expensive than a few other area hotels. I liked the pet area outside of the side entrance. Parking was great. I liked the suite a bit more than the regular room because it muffled some of the noises from the hallway. My pet was relaxed and not so alert when staying in the suite. She and I slept great. I will stay here again as long as there is a room available during my next trip. A gas station is conveniently located next to the hotel and there are restaurant choices within walking distance.

The room was a bit worn/dated, for example the shower needed a bit of love as the water ran from the shower head and the tub filler at the same time. This was not a show stopper. Although pets are not allowed to be left alone in the rooms under any circumstance, it seemed that not everyone adhered to this rule because some pets did not stop barking. The suite was much better than regular room in this case. Noises from the other rooms and hallway were nearly inaudible.

Rooms were spacious, and the decor was simple and nice. We stayed in a suite and enjoyed the extra couch area. Check-in/out was seamless and staff were friendly and helpful in trying to find a good room for us and our dog. The free cookie at check in was a nice touch. We appreciate that dogs are allowed and that the pet fee is a reasonable $25 per night. There is also a decent amount of grassy area for the dogs to do their business, as well as a pet-clean up station (not always the case at pet-friendly hotels).

No major problems, but there are a few simple things that could be better: 1) as others have noted, the pillows are pretty squishy and thin. I was fine doubling them up but others might be bothered (bed is comfortable though). 2) No towel racks in the bathroom! This seems like a very easy fix and would make a big difference. Even a couple hooks around would be helpful. There is only one hook on the door and no racks at all. 3) Towels are small.

Great location off of the i-81 with several restaurants and a gas station nearby. Clean room comfy beds

Breakfast was pretty standard, eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, juice and milk. Not a huge variety but that was fine. The facility was as pictured, nice area with a 7/11, restaurants, an Aldi, movie theater. We stayed in a suite because we had our kids, and the bedroom did have a door (we were looking for this in the description and couldn't find the information). There wasn't much to the pool and there isn't a hot tub but it stays open late, and our kids had the best time there, which is all that matters. The deepest it goes is 5ft. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Didn't love the eggs but that's just personal preference.

Breakfast was a nice added feature. However, Sunday the waffle making option was not available. I was told the "batter" dispensing machine was broken. I would have suggested putting the batter in a bowl, and use a dipping spoon to put batter on the waffle maker. The waffle makers were not broken, but rather the batter dispenser. This not working was a disappointment.

There was no fresh fruit provided on Sunday. Saturday had fresh cut melons and pineapples. These were missing on Sunday. Supplies were quite limited on Sunday versus Saturday's options.

Location ok Bkfst fair Room noisy...overhead walking(heavy foot) late and early...hall noisy...thermostat not easy to keep at desired temp. Liked art work on walls...refreshing .Far bed was comfortable with decent support. Common areas were generally well cleaned. Staff tried to be friendly.

One mattress in bed by entry slopes and makes sleeping uncomfortable. Paint could be fresher on trims etc and make everything look better. See also above. Entry door on right side parking lot often propped open...unsafe.

Very friendly staff, we were given a room close to exit (which is great when traveling with a dog), wood floors in room, location was very close to interstate, restaurants close by

Dog area outside was in need of upkeep, room had strong pet smell, comforters pretty dingy. Took dog out at night and there was a sketchy person roaming in the parking lot. Informed staff ot scared me and was told the convenience store next door sometimes brings in sketchy people. Made me very uneasy.
