Hampton Inn Winchester

Recently renovated, clean, comfortable, full hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, hash browns, oatmeal). Bananas was the only fruit (other Hampton Inns we've stayed at have had more fruit). Very quiet in spite of being off the highway and fully packed parking lot. All staff friendly (except for the woman who answered the phone on the way there...)

Because we were arriving 7 hours earlier than I'd reported in the message I had sent to them via Booking.com (which they'd rec'd and had replied to), I called while on the way to alert them of this, and to be sure it was okay. The woman who answered was not at all friendly and had no appreciation for my call. More than that, she seemed annoyed that I'd bothered her! I thought I was being not only thoughtful to let them know of the 7 hours difference, but needed assurance that the room would be available and ready. Other than that, once we arrived, it was an excellent stay, just like every H.I. we stay at on our travels!

The Hampton Inns have been a favorite hotel for me over many years and this one met all my expectations. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious enough. The hot breakfast actually surprised me, the egg white frittatas were delicious!

Not a huge deal, but there was no one at the front desk when we arrived which was a surprise. After a minute or two an employee did arrive to check us in. A minor annoyance but after driving for over 6 hours we were anxious to just get in our room and relax. Probably hard to find help like everywhere else these days so one just has to deal with it.

Easy check in, Great location, Breakfast was phenomenal. Top 5 best breakfast at a hotel. Fitness center was very well maintained and they even have a Peloton bike!!! So cool to be able to take a Peloton class while staying here. We showed up around 11 p.m. on a Friday to check in. The staff was standing by and ready to help. Will be sure to stay here again!

This hotel is located conveniently right off of I-81. There are a number of gas stations around the hotel making it convenient to fill up before continuing your trip. The breakfast was excellent and offered from 6:30-10am. On the morning we were there, they offered a buffet with Western omelettes, breakfast sausage patties and home fries. Everything was hot and plentiful. They also had, bagels and English muffins with a toaster available and blueberry, chocolate and banana nut, individually wrapped muffins. Cold cereal, fruit, yogurt and juices also available. One could make a fresh waffle on their waffle iron, too. Coffee tasted good which is unusual at a hotel. Our room was clean, no odors and temperature was easy to control. Bathroom amenities were nice and included mouthwash. Towels were bright white, thick and soft. Bed mattress was very comfortable, good pillows and nice linens. Staff was very friendly and not rushed. Ample parking with good outside lighting. Will definitely stay here again!

Staff employees were very nice. Breakfast was tasty and the serving/eating area was very clean and well-managed by the staff attendant.

First impression was challenged because entrance and parking lot were not clean. There were also parked motorcycles and people gathered at the front door. When going out for dinner, the staff recommended Piccadilly restaurant downtown and gave us a list of restaurants and directions to the recommended venue. We parked in a parking garage and walked to the restaurant only to find out it was closed. On our second day, we returned late afternoon to our room to find out it was not cleaned, towels had not been changed,etc. I went to the front desk and they said you have to request your room be made up ahead of time because of COVID. We had never heard of that.

I can't argue with free breakfast! Well, I can, but not with the breakfast here. The buffet was hot, Belgian waffle makers were in service, and there was plenty of coffee. We really liked the clean room and super comfortable beds after a long day on the road.

Hotel elevators were down the night we checked in. My mom had to struggle up the stairs with me behind her to make sure she didn't fall. An issue like that isn't a problem for me, but for folks with mobility issues it was downright dangerous.

Breakfast was good and plentiful. Room was spotless. Plenty of ice from the machine. Very convenient to our relatives home, who we were visiting.

For me, bed was very uncomfortable. Too soft. Would have liked housekeeping to restock coffee and towels. Lock on first room was inoperable. They gave us another. Lock on bathroom needs repair. My bad that I forgot to tell front desk.

directions to the inn. drove all the way in to town and had to call the inn to get directions back. needs signpost on route, with arrow to inn. Wifi very sporadic.

I enjoyed my stay. The shower was intuitively designed. They had mouthwash. The hotel was very easy to navigate. The staff was friendly. The room, bed, and pillows were comfortable.

I am highly disappointed in booking.com. I found out that I would have a lower rate if I would have booked directly with the hotel. My only gripe with the stay itself was that they didn't have scrambled eggs at breakfast.

We had ants in the bathroom & bedroom. As I was tying my sneaker an ant was on my shoe. We reported this to the person on the desk in the morning. There were many ants; not sure how anyone cleaning the room didn't notice the ants ?
