Comfort Inn

We we’re heading home from a ten hour total trip and did not want to drive the entire trip in one day when we knew we would not get an early start. Seven hours was a doable cut off, putting us in Beckley. Wanting to revisit the Tamarack, the hotel was in the perfect location, not requiring us to get back on and off the interstate. Also, there were a multitude of nearby restaurants, two of which did not require leaving the side road. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, the decor was very on trend, and, except for a small stain on the comforter, everything was spotless. All of the staff was wonderful. The front desk person found my husband’s cell phone and room key that slipped out of his pocket into the chair at breakfast and held it till he realized what happened after we had returned to our room.

The most disconcerting thing was a small quarter size blood stain on the underside edge of the comforter that I quietly told the housekeeping attendant about in the morning and showed her. She apologized and said she would get a new comforter for the next guest and thanked me. Although the breakfast bar had eggs, sausage, and waffles, along with cold selections, and a friendly attendant, it didn’t have any bananas, or other options for waffle toppings besides syrup, nor did it have bacon, or peanut butter. It somehow seemed bland and the coffee wasn’t very good. I hesitantly ate the sausage and ended up with a bellyache, as sausage doesn’t sit well when traveling!

This hotel was clean and convenient to the interstate. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything that we needed. The clerk at the front desk was a wonderful guy! There are several restaurants that were walkable. They were also others close by but across a busy road.Breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. There were breads available and yogurt. As well as the standard juices. There was some fresh fruit as well. No gluten free breads..but that is not uncommon.

The room size was great for the two of us but if you had children or extra people in the room it would be on the small side. The bathroom was smaller than most hotel bathrooms. But it was fresh and very nice. Possibly they have larger rooms but I'm not sure. We had two Queens.

I paid over $350 for one night in a different hotel prior to this stay, this hotel blew that other place out of the water in every aspect aside from the view (other was ocean). Excellent breakfast! Clean building, kind and helpful staff. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with this stay.

The room door didn't close like a typical hotel door. I had to pull it shut or it would be half open.

Everything was new, modern and very clean! The bathroom was awesome with its walk-in shower. Beds were very comfortable, and I loved the subtle backlighting from behind the headboards. Great breakfast in the AM until 9AM with scrambled eggs, warm biscuits & sausage gravy plus many other choices.

I would have liked the breakfast availability to last until 10AM, so I could sleep in a little longer.

The room was nice, TV was great, breakfast was good and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room décor was very nice, it was very clean and appeared to be newly remodeled. I booked another night there for my return trip home.

At the moment I can’t think if anything major. I guess I might haved liked a slightly firmer mattress but it wasn’t uncomfortable.

Front desk, room, location, all employees except one.

One individual that was involved with breakfast was rude to all. When someone droppped something on the floor she made him feel embarrased and he left without eating. She had short white hair, the guest involved was a construction worker. He did not seem overly sensative.

Everything at this hotel was excellent. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was not just rolls and juice but had eggs, sausage and a lot of other items. It was clean and maintained well. We will definitely stay here again when traveling.

Extra shelf or counter space in the bathroom would have been helpful to put items on while getting ready.

The PILLOWS and Beds were beyond comfortable!!! The room and bathroom were impeccable, the bath towels of high quality. This stay was beyond our expectations and much appreciated by exhausted travelers. Thank you SO much!

We were here to explore The New River National Park. This was an excellent location I thought. About 20 minutes away. Just enough to not be in the park crowds. Everything was fresh and clean. Renewed!

Can’t really think of anything we didn’t like.

location was perfect! right off highway within walking distance to nice restaurants. entire hotel had new furnishings, updated bathroom including walk in shower, beautiful tiling, nice lighting over bed frame and person reading lights, large tv, nice breakfast, pleasant staff.
