The Scout Inn definitely exceeded expectations. When looking for places to stay I was a little surprised how pricey the hotels were in Cody. Not only was The Scout the most reasonably priced, but it looked better than others priced much higher. It's clear they recently did a refresh, and did a great job. It was very clean. It was also ideally located. Cody's not a big town, and mostly all the action happens on one small stretch of Sheridan Ave, but few places aside from the famous Irma (which looks a little outdated in terms of rooms) and The Scout are right in the center of it all. We couldn't have been happier with The Scout's accommodations, location and staff. And the breakfast! Others have mentioned the breakfast is much better than expected, and they're right. It might seem odd at first, because you get your breakfast in a hallway of the hotel and it doesn't seem like there's a lot on offer, but don't let any of that fool you. Where else are you going to get large homemade cinnamon buns, and authentic bacon, sausage and hash browns, not to mention eggs made with actual eggs and not powdered eggs. It was the perfect way to start every day. Highly recommend The Scout and hope it stays exactly the same for the next time we return.

Location is great for walking to and from shops/restaurants downtown. Breakfast exceeded our expectations.The breakfast sandwiches and burritos were delicious and filling. Staff was kind! The cook bringing over the breakfast in the morning was so friendly and everyone at the check in desk has a smile on their face when we walked by.

It was easy to hear people above us walking around. They were not overly loud by any means, but we could hear them in the middle of the night. We ended up turning the fan on, and it helped drown out the noise.

It’s on Main Street and in walking distance to most all of the main attractions in town. Room was clean and comfortable but old fashion and dated but your not in Cody to stay in the room all day…….your there for the adventures to take. Beds are comfy and it’s well worth the price of a nights stay!!

The dated look

When we first arrived we had slight misgivings but I thought the photos looked great so we were hopeful. Then it was so nice and clean. The hotel has obviously been very recently remodeled. Everything is new and updated. It was clean, and comfortable and had cute decor. It was even kind of mid-century modern. Even the bathroom fixtures were new.

It is an old building so when we walked in our room with the air conditioning off it had a stuffy smell (NOT mildewy or moldy at all), which got better after we got some air flowing. Everything else was lovely.

The front desk called me to make arrangements for my late arrival. They have well heated hallways which was nice after a long cold drive. The room was clean. The room had a nice decor. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The pillows were also great. The handicap accessible room worked well for me. I got to park my car very close to the room. In the morning the front desk lent me a pole so I could try to chip away the ice around my car tires.

Wish I could have stayed longer. Using real keys was a throwback, but manageable. I'm glad the room was nice, because the single digit temperatures outside did not encourage exploration.

The room was simple and very clean. Good value! The owners have updated the floors and it has a really nice, simple and comfortable feel to it. cucumber water and hot coffee in the morning, chocolate mints in the room. a lot of simple but pleasantly welcome surprises! close to a great restaurant for dinner, a brewhouse with great food next to the hotel and Grandma's right down the street with an awesome breakfast.

Didn't have breakfast. Liked that there was a 'Keurig' type coffee maker with coffee supplied in the room. Liked that there was laundry facilities, though we did not use them. Rooms were nice, beds comfortable. Great A/C.

The check in was smooth but far from welcoming. Weird that you had to navigate to your bed using a cell phone light as the light sconce did not have an off switch at the bedside. The hotel ice machine was out of order, but that happens.

The guest rooms were extremely clean and house keeping was able to comply with requests.

Our sleep was interrupted around 11:00 PM by guests next to us with young children. Not babies!!! I called the front desk several times and no one answered the phone. Then at 5:00 AM the noise started up and lasted over an hour and a half. Again, my phone calls were not answered——-one call rang 40 times. Other guests were shouting “shut up” and banging on the walls to get the noisy, obnoxious guests to settle down!! No staff members were there to attend to this situation!! What if it had been a shooting!!??????

We were charged twice for our stay on our credit card. I asked about this when I checked out and the girl at the counter could not explain? Called back and asked for Melissa, but she was not able to come to the phone. The person that answered could not explain. Ended up calling my credit card co. and having the charges disputed.

The staff (Rex & Jeff) were very helpful. We had an accident outside of Cody, totaling our car on the way to the hotel and they allowed us a late checkout the next day to rent a car and deal with our car. Upon arrival Rex helped us with our luggage and helped us settle in. The room was clean and comfortable. Located downtown - within walking distance of restaurants and shops.
