We have been to the Emerald on many occasions and are always completely satisfied,however this was the first time with the new owners and there are a few subtle differences to the previous owners. This did not affect our feelings during our stay. It remains an excellent destination in Hoi An.

The fact that we couldn’t sit and talk quietly in the gardens after ten at night didn’t go down too well with us as it is the best time of the day because of the heat and humidity,being far enough away from any rooms so as not to disturb anybody didn’t make any difference.

Near to the town so good location, very clean, staff very helpful, lovely pool, breakfast was good, lovely setting, large shower with lots of hot water. Bikes free to hire. Transport to and from the airport was on time and reliable.

No helmets for bikes, there use to be a free boat ride and afternoon tea snacks included in the price. This is no longer included - could be as it’s under new management.

A really lovely vibe, super friendly staff and a great location.

The pool closed at 7pm which was a shame as it was beautifully lit in the evening. If they had a nicely lit bar in the garden area we would have hung out there.

We had an amazing experience at Emerald Hoi An Riverside. We stayed in a river view room and it was a pleasure to wake up every morning and look out onto a peaceful and green outlook. Just beautiful. Staff were amazing and helpful. I was really impressed that they remembered our names and really went out of their way to make our stay as relaxing as possible. Rooms were clean, bed was super comfortable (we like firm beds). Breakfast was amazing. Great location, easy walk to all the restaurants on the island and over the walk bridge into town. Amazing stay would come again.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like, although a large group of guests that arrived during our stay were super unpleasant people and very rude to staff. Not the resort's fault but did put a damper on our experience for the one day they were around.

Air conditioner did not keep the room particularly cool - it was set on 17 degrees by us, but felt like 25 (reported this, but don’t think anything happened to check this). We were in the expensive suite (top floor) but could not use the extensive balcony area as we were encased by overgrown coconut trees which subsequently didn’t allow for airflow or a good view of the pool or river. The massive bed was like sleeping on a hard floor- not sure the mattress was a mattress - no give at all. Lounge chairs by the pool were past their use by date - sunk on the seating area and difficult to get out of. Had to pay for airport transfer - other hotels at the same price point include this as part of the overall cost.

Spent a week relaxing here. The pool and resort were a perfect place to relax in the heat. Fantastic location by the river, quiet and peaceful but short walk to the old town. The staff were so wonderful. Huang the restaurant manager and all the staff were so friendly and made our staff so relaxing. The food was delicious and fresh. Hoa ( Mia) on reception was bubbly and full of enthusiasm and ideas. She arranged motorcycles for us to explore the hills and outskirts of the town. I would love to come back again!

Loved the location. The resort sits on the quiet end of the small island where the night market and many bars and restaurants reside. We stayed near the resort when we wanted quiet/relaxing time and could easily walk or bike to the more lively areas. The bikes on property were a huge plus and the guys at the front post were so friendly and fun to talk to. The pool is wonderful to hang by during the morning afternoon. It has soft/relaxing music in the afternoon, so you can still read without having loud music interrupt. Also loved all of the resident Geckos! The property seems to be relatively bug free, probably in large part to these great residents.

The coffee provided at breakfast was really bad instant coffee. Kind of a bummer when Vietnam is known for having such wonderful coffee. The noise from hallways and adjacent rooms was pretty audible at night. There were a couple nights when we got woken up and kept up by loud neighbors coming home or screaming kids downstairs (obviously not any fault of other guests, just emphasizing the pretty non-existent sound proofing). This wasn’t an issue every night, but something to consider if you’re a light sleeper.

The hotel is very well located, very close to the center of Hoi An, but in a very quiet and beautiful area away from the hustle and bustle. Also near (10 or 15 mins far from some beautiful beaches). The staff is very friendly and very helpful, they take great care of the details. The hotel is beautiful and the surroundings and views too. The pool is very nice, and perfect to relax. Our room was very large, and had a huge terrace, they are very tastefully decorated maintaining the traditional style. The bed is very comfortable and the air conditioning works perfectly.

As it is in the middle of a natural environment, we saw some small ants (or termites) in some furniture, which is not ideal, an aspect that I think can be improved despite being in nature.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They were always happy to help, recommend restaurants, transfers and booking activities etc. It was a perfect location, only two blocks from Hoi An old town central. The facilities were great with the pool area, comfy seating looking over the water and the restaurant close by to order drinks and food. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The gym was quite small and no air conditioning. Our shower leaked at the bottom of the shower door glass so it made the bathroom quite wet.

A peaceful spot by the river located a short walk away from the shops and restaurants. The riverside garden, restaurant, and pool were lovely. The bed was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and polite and tried their best to help with any issues.

The room smelled like a wet dog. The staff provided a lemongrass oil lamp for one night which helped, but the smell returned as soon as they took the lamp out. They had some issues with the electricity while we were there. The fire alarm went off late in the evening because of it. The TV also made a chirping sound whenever the connection wasn’t good, and it didn’t work at all for a few hours our last morning.
