The location is amazing. Only a few minutes walk to the Old Town. The receptionist was beyond amazing, she has so much knowledge about Hoi An and was available to answer all my questions. She recommended some amazing tours too. My favourite coffee stop was called An Nam Quan (647 Hai Ba Trung, a few metres from the hotel) the sweetest lady with the biggest heart owns this little spot. Highly recommend Bao Diep tailors (44 Tran Hung Dao St - ask for Nga), I was very specific with what I wanted and Nga did not disappoint.

This is a stunning hotel and in my opinion should be rated more than two stars. The decoration of the rooms and hotel is beautiful. The pool was a huge bonus! The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything so easy to walk around to see the sights, shops and restaurants. Rooms were clean, spacious and bathroom had large separate shower (I think the only hotel we stayed in Vietnam that wasn't a wet room), good air con and comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would happily stay here again.

Given the price and in comparison with other hotels similar, it seemed strange that we had to pay extra for breakfast. Also water in the room was expected to be paid for. Unfortunately the view from the windows is just the wall of the building next door, so not really a window but this seems somewhat common in Vietnam. Also no elevator, but we only had one flight of stairs and staff take your luggage up anyway so it is no problem. In order to open the fridge in my room I had to move furniture (only slightly inconvenient).

The hotel was in the old part of Hoi An and was very close to wonderful food, the river, local museums and markets. It was maybe 1 block from the Ancient city. Kelly and the rest of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. They helped us organise transport and day trips with no fuss. We had a large family room with a lot of space and a fantastic bathroom. The hotel is nice and quiet, so with the comfy beds it was very easy to sleep after a long day of sight seeing.

The staff at Thanh Van 1 Hotel are the friendliest and most helpful I've ever experienced. They genuinely wanted to help us have the best time we possibly could while in Hoi An. The location is perfect. The hotel is surrounded by great places to eat and very close to all the sights in Hoi An, but it's not noisy at night. The aircon in the room can be set to icy cold and there was a proper and comfy doona on the bed rather than a sheet or thin blanket like most hotels in Vietnam. The hotel itself is also very nice with free tea and coffee at reception, a pool and great views of the old city from the top level balcony.

Our stay was perfect.

I love this hotel and come back whenever I can. The location is excellent. The rooms are simple but very pleasant. The staff delightful and most helpful, especially Ms Kelly and her colleague. Now that they are serving breakfast again, I have nothing to put in the next section - except maybe they should buy more croissants for people like me who get up late!

The stay was nice and clean. The receptionist Kieu was amazing and helpful, and I wish I could have taken her with me back in my suitcase, since she was so amazingly helpful and talkative in general The hotel was beautifully made with the typical Hoi An style, and the wooden floors etc. made it all feel very authentic to the town

The view from the room was missing, since there was a hotel wall built just outside the window. They have tried to fix it by painting the wall, but it simply is not the same as a real view. Not the fault of the hotel, but Vietnamese building laws in general

The whole place was beautiful, we never used the pool but it seemed like a lovely place to unwind after a day of exploring. The mini fridge prices were reasonable, and they were able to arrange a private car to and from Da Nang when we arrived and left. Location was also great, feels like you’re well placed for most things there are to do in Hoi An. Free tea and coffee was also available in the lobby.

No lift and we were on the top floor right at the end! Not a massive issue for us but if you have limited mobility/loads of bags, bear this in mind. Not much we didn’t like about this place!

The location is absolutely fantastic--easily walkable to so many great areas within Hoi An. We loved the proximity to restaurants and to the river walk area. The staff was very accommodating and always willing to help with answers to questions or helping to book tours. The bathroom is nice and spacious, and the pool was very refreshing, although it is located very close to the rooms on the first floor so my kids couldn't splash around like they wanted to.

The room was a little smaller than we realized, it was tight with all of our suitcases, but we made it work. We did wish there was more air conditioning available. Once the A/C was turned on the room was comfortable after about 10-15 minutes, but once we removed the key to go out for the day, the A/C turned off.

The location was very good, close to the Old town of Hoi An. Just a 3-5 minute walk to see the beautiful lanterns on the river. The rooms were very nice and clean (with a separate shower which you don't see often in Vietnam). Also the swimming pool was very nice. The best part was the staff though! They were so friendly and helpful. We booked two tours with them: My Son and a cooking class. They also helped us book a flight because we had troubles booking it online. We had a great stay here and would really recommend this hotel!

Location is excellent, within walking distance of the old town and pretty much anywhere you'd want to walk. Great staff, clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed, functioning TV with a few English-language channels. Working internet. Nice swimming pool. Can organise transport and tours as well.

Bathroom a bit small and the extra door between the sink and toilet/shower is a bit annoying. Tourists smoking in the swimming pool area is also a bit annoying, but that's acceptable in Vietnam.
