This a very very nice historic hotel. Beds were great. Room, although a bit small by USA standards, was very good size for Europe. Breakfast was adequate. All staff were great. The restaurant room is historic and beautiful. The lobby is classic and first class.

This is simply not a five star hotel. Even by EU standards. No bellhops. It has been a while since I had to wheel my own luggage. The restaurant was closed--every day. Maid service ended at 3! This is unheard of. They have a doorman, but I could not determine his purpose, other than to stand by the front door? He did say hello though. I want that job! I don't want to be too tough on the place because it is very very beautiful. Five Star? Nope.

The hotel was very comfortable. We liked the decor& the room was very good. It was near the Metro station which was convenient.

We liked the bar but were disappointed when a group of children arrived & disturbed the pleasant ambience by making a lot of noise & running around. We felt this was inappropriate during the late evening while enjoying a quiet drink. Secondly, the location of the hotel, apart from being convenient for the Metro & near the centre of Brussels, is in a run down area & we felt uncomfortable when going out for dinner in the evening. It was disappointing that the hotel restaurant was closed.

The hotel was beautiful, clean, and located within walking distance to many museums, restaurants, and other attractions. The breakfast buffet was delicious.

A shame the restaurant was closed, but room service was excellent with its limited menu. Check in at 3pm is a bit late for international travelers arriving on morning flights (always a number of people camped in the lobby awaiting rooms)

Bed is extremely comfortable and the pillows were amazing, we had an amazing sleep. Room is a very good size and it has everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was good, continental with all the usual meats, pastries, fruits, drinks, tea and coffees.

We were facing courtyard and every so often there was a very loud bang coming from the bottom which was covered - I can only guess it was used for some sort of deliveries which were being offloaded without much care. The bangs would continue into the night and would start early morning so if you are a light sleeper, this is not a side I recommend

The bedroom and bed were big and comfortable. The decoration of the hotel is beautiful and the staff was really friendly.

Some parts of the wall and furniture in the bedroom were damaged (paint was coming out), we weren't expecting that from a 5 star hotel

Good location, right by the Metro stop Rogier. 5-10 min walk into the old part of town. Beautiful building and the character remains inside, really very nice. Our Classic Deluxe rooms were nice and large with super comfortable beds and a good sized bathroom, with a separate toilet off that room. Really couldn’t fault the room and the hotel interior, would certainly stay again.

At check-in, the receptionist dealing with us was not particularly friendly, no welcome or a crack of a smile. She didn’t seem particularly sure of what she was doing and left us feeling quite unsure as to what we were being billed for. Not a great, confidence inspiring start to the stay. Other staff seemed fine when we heard other guests being checked in, so I do think it was this individual member of the reception team that could use some additional training in speaking and dealing with guests. To purchase breakfast on the day, will set you back €29 per person, which is pretty outrageous. Ahead of our arrival the hotel sent us (via Booking.com), a discount to have breakfasts at €18 per person. We decided to give it a miss and had breakfast in the city centre.

The hotel is well located, within walking distance to restaurants, shopping areas, and major attractions. Nancy at the front desk was fantastic. She was welcoming, kind, and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, beds and pillows comfortable. Large, clean bathroom, toiletries provided, decent towels. Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold offerings. Good selection to choose from, very tasty.

No doorman. No concierge to assist guests with booking tours, or making theatre and restaurant reservations. No bellhop to assist with luggage. Hotel had a old-world feel without key personnel to make it elegant. Only breakfast was available, the restaurant for lunch/dinner is closed indefinitely. Major road works happening directly in front of the hotel, there is no straight access to the entrance. We arrived in the rain and our taxi parked across the street and the driver maneuvered our luggage through puddles, and over planks on the ground. It is somewhat chaotic to move around, and to cross the street. This is obviously beyond the hotel's control but advance notice would have been appreciated.

Beautiful historic hotel (art deco, 1930) in a central location within easy distance of the old town and transport links. Also it is very close to a large shopping mall with a supermarket and food court with lots of eating options. We arrived at noon and were given access to our room immediately which was great

The area is a bit run down, there are quite a few adult stores nearby, lots of roadworks. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, and the bar was also closed for the first couple of nights

The hotel location is excellent, within 5 minutes walking of the main shopping street and 15 minutes of many other central attractions such as the Grand Palace and Christmas Market. The room was a perfect size and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There were great communications from the hotel before our arrival to make sure everything was as we wanted and checking in was easy. I would certainly recommend this hotel and be happy to return.

There are no real negatives, only an observation that the bathroom did not really match the luxury of the room and hotel, and is perhaps a little dated. That said, it had everything you needed and was very clean. A nice touch was the separate toilet so shower and toiley could be used at the same time.

We did have a very pleasant stay at the hotel the bed was very comfortable and so where the pillows. .

But that didn't the happiness didn't last long after the 4th day we where accosted by the so-called security (small) man at the front of the property asking about our validity to stay at the property he was very rude and I was quite upset. I lodged a complaint at reception and never heard back
