Buddy Hotel

Great location with easy access to the old town and all public transport. Fair value for money given its location. Room was pleasant, well equipped, clean and an okay size for a basic budget hotel of its type. Staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Card-access security door to main hotel building for extra security. Room was quiet and well shaded and had been designed creatively to use what little space there was. A snack style breakfast (mini-pretzels, etc) and additional coffee pods provided free of charge at reception in the mornings to take back to your room.

iPad charger and adjustable bed controls were broken but we survived without them. Room is very compact but knew this when booking. Maybe extra clothes hangers/hanger space could be provided.

We knew it would be a compact room but it did have surprising efficiency to it (storage under the bed, shelving, hooks, etc.). The air conditioning worked great as it was really hot those couple of days.

Button to control window shades was broken so we couldn't lower them for privacy. Also, the button to lower and raise one side of the bed didn't work. The other worked fine.

The rooms had blinds and an interesting design which we liked a lot. Also comes with free pastries for breakfast at the reception. We also had discount vouchers for breakfast at a nearby hotel, but we didn't go in the end as the breakfast only had cereals. Location was great it was one stop away from the main station and also within walking distance

When we first walked in, the reception was raining from the roof, but the staff reassured us that it was because of the neighbours upstairs. The room was a bit small, and the sofa bed creaked a lot, which was quite noisy.

Location was great for exploring the city and the facilities were good - air con was needed in the heatwave, coffee machine and shower good and the free snacks were a nice touch to save having to get breakfast (some days these went super early other days they were there til late)

Room was a bit small and there were no wardrobes/places to store clothing. Fine for a short stay but we were there for a week so wasn't ideal. My own fault for not researching this further

The location was near several U-bahn and S-bahn lines which made getting to meetings around town very easy. The air-conditioning was very welcome since the weather was very hot. The room was clean upon entry (but since they don't clean during your stay it of course got dirtier and dirtier).

There was no place to leave my suitcase on the day I checked-out and so I had to travel on public transportation with my suitcase and take it to meetings with me. That's not very professional. When I asked the night before leaving if there was a space, I was told that there was. It wasn't until the morning when I found out that there wasn't. I was told to use a locket at the main train station nearby but by then I didn't have time since I had to go to my meetings.

We stayed at the Buddy Hotel for 5 nights and we were not disappointed at all. There are plenty of outlets for all your electronics, the running water is very strong and the room is clean and modern. What I will say is be warned it is a bit small. For us it wasn’t an issue. But if you are looking for a room with space this is not for you. You will need to coordinate and communicate in order to make sure for easy access. Also be sure to ask for your room to be cleaned/new towels. If you like space or are planning on spending a lot of awake time in your room…this is not your hotel. Don’t book. If you can manage a smaller size room, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s 5 minutes from the train station (an easy walk), 10 minutes from Marienplatz (also an easy walk) and the underground stop at Karlplatz is 5 feet from the front door of the hotel. There are numerous restaurants within minutes and even more in old town which is only 5 minutes from the front door.

I had no issues but please read above for issues you may have.

The hotel is very close to Munich hbf station and also walking distance (10 mins) to Marienplatz with tram and bus stops opposite making the location perfect for both local sight seeing and intercity movements. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful to cater to any special needs. The rooms are cute and have been smartly designed to utilise the space very efficiently and provide most of the essentials (including a coffee machine) you need. So though they are small, they don’t feel that way. Overall very pleased with the experience and will definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place in Munich. Thanks

The only bit of feedback would be to improve the quality of mattress as it not very comfy for the back.

The room was very clean and nice. The location is excellent. Close to everything you need. Nice neighbourhood. The snacks in the morning are very fresh and we loved that they were small and you could grab them and eat them in the room or to go. Our room was not on the busy street side so was very quite. The bathroom was very new and clean. Shower was excellent. The people at the check in and check out were very friendly and gave nice tips.

The only thing that could be improved is the curtain in the room which do not close totally and in the night is always a bit of light from the neighbours and not so much privacy if you have them open but for us was not a big issue but for somebody could be maybe. The other thing is the coffee machine in the room which was not working and one of the bed who could have been put in a higher position was not working. The other one was working though so one person was happy:)

Our room at Buddy hotel was really good. If you’re travelling on a budget the rooms are really good value and also there are great free snacks! Good spot also, only a 5 minute walk into main strip of shops/centre of town. However unfortunately some of the staff are very rude which was disappointing.

German, the man at the reception desk when we arrived was extremely rude. I’m not sure whether he was just in a bad mood that day but the way he spoke to us was really disappointing, he was blunt, arrogant, and really condescending. He was also really blunt and hostile when we asked him simple questions about the hotel. Super disappointing as we had a great stay otherwise. Bed and shower were great.

Close to the city center, good view, A/C, nice view from the room I had, way bigger than for two people. Convenient to the U-bahnstation and Munich HBF. Lots to do and see, plenty of restaurant options.

Too many homeless people outside begging right on the front doorstep. The automated computer to check in was out and you have to make sure you are in the small window to check in when the staff works. Have to continuously keep scheduling room cleaning and fresh towels. No where to throw your trash, lots of trash accumulating outside the front doors
