Arena Lodge

My son and I returned to Auckland from Wellington at the end of our trip to the South Island, and chose to rest in Palmerston North for one night. Judging from the appearance of the building, this is a hotel that has been in operation for many years. The indoor facilities are well maintained, suitable for light meals, and there is a jacuzzi. What I like most are the historic windows and curtains, and the skylight on the sloping roof of the toilet. Since we checked in late, communication with the staff was also good. They arranged it very well.

Immediately opposite the Arena so perfect for our sports group of 8 people. We booked the 3 bedroom apartment. So ladies downstairs and boys upstairs. And neither sex had to share bathroom/toilets. Thank goodness. Good sized kitchen and had everything for making a meal. Friendly and helpful manager and staff too. Beds were clean and comfy. Whole apartment clean and tidy. We will definitely come again.

The location was perfect, close to supermarkets, walking distance to Moxies cafe which was perfect. our room was spacious and always clean. most of all we were so appreciative towards the kind, thoughtful manager who loaned us his Vechile so I could see my dad everyday who has recently become a resthome resident on the other side of town. This kindness went over and above anything we have ever experienced. i would recommend to anyone who is looking at this accomodation to book and make sure you book in advance for all your Palmy visits. it’s simply perfect

Tony met us on arrival, was very friendly and welcoming. Noticed we had double booked by mistake and happily sorted it out with travel agency. Room was very tidy with everything you need. Breakfast was ample and totally delicious! Great location, nice quiet and private out of the busy city ( only a 2 minute drive) but still walking distance to supermarkets, takeaways etc Totally recommend Arena lodge! 10/10 Thanks Tony and staff! 👍

Air conditioning fan was too noisy to sleep with so didn't sleep too well with the heat.

Not the first time staying at the Arena Lodge in Palmerston North and it was fantastic once again. Very clean and well setup room. Nice comfortable bed and great shower pressure, the showerheads are next level! Parking right outside your door, hassle free check in and check out.

There was nothing I didnt like, however sky tv would of been amazing

Upon opening my unit door I was impressed with the layout and cleanliness of my unit. Everything that I needed was provided in the unit. Could not fault anything and after line dancing all afternoon the spa bath was to die for. 🥰 Would happily recommend to anyone visiting Palmerston North

Super super clean, the host was very friendly. The rooms have everything you need. Good location.

The room we booked for 2 adults and a child was a little small, could do with air-conditioning it got very warm by the afternoon lucky we were out most of the day. If it was just hubby and I the room would've been a good size but that extra single bed made it hard to maneuver around.

Absolutely spotless. Clean, quality linens, good kitchen facilities, office desk and chair and easy chair and footstool, aswell as dining table and chairs. Upgraded to spa bath - much appreciated. Ground floor, parked right outside door. Receptionist very helpful.

As shower is over the spa bath that has sloping sides, I felt I was struggling to get right under the flow to wash my hair in the morning. Nit picking really, as was great. Decor a but dark for my taste.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The staff were welcoming & friendly & I especially appreciated that due to imminent knee surgery, the management went out of their way to ensure I had a ground floor room. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed, the breakfast was delicious, arrived on a time & was good value for money.

I found the bath/shower height a bit difficult for me to get in & out.

right across road from the arena where we competed- very handy. reasonably priced, friendly staff

bit noisy with people wandering around outside and slamming doors, bit of street noise. these are all things that can’t be helped however!
