Distinction Coachman Hotel, Palmerston North

Spacious suite with a bath as requested. It was on the third floor which made it quieter than the lower floors. There was a lift as well as internal stairs. The location was very good as it was walking distance to the town centre. The restaurant at the hotel provided a nice dinner and breakfast. We have stayed at this hotel before and would do so again quite happily.

Reception was very informative, and Location - walking distance to city centre Pool area, children loved it Alot of facilities - But we never had a chance to use. Eg - Gym, Hair Salon

ROOM SERVICE - NOT COMPLETED - Towels ONLY replaced. AIR CONDITION needs upgrading, noisy. BATHROOM - NOTE - Spa Bath NOT working, access was quite difficult to get in and out off, (slip, trips and falls)), Tap came off shower (brittle),

The location and the availability of room service.

The menu for room service suggests you phone a four-digit number, hard to do when there is no phone in the room. Had to use the cell phone to phone the external line back to reception and then forwarded to room service. The bathroom wasn't very clean, the was black mould.

Loved the older character of the hotel. Actually having a room key instead of a swipe card, lots of exposed wood rather then bland painted doors and frames, Good quality free wi fi. Maybe my age but this Hotel felt comfortable rather then sterile.

Was not very happy when turning on the hot water tap in bathroom to have brown tinged water come out initially. The cold water was fine

The location is awesome - it was super close to the main square. The staff member that checked us in was lovely and allowed us to check in early. The room was a great size and had everything you needed

The shower floor was a bit slippery and although our room had been made up and cleaned before we got there - there was someone’s else’s item under the bed!

Shower was amazing. This room had a little kitchenette (last time we stay the room didn't have one) so were able to heat up food etc. Beds are very comfy. My son loved the Spa and also managed a quick dip in the freezing pool! Lots of choice at the buffet breakfast.

The running water when other rooms are using their showers can be quite loud but nothing major. Rooms could do with a bit of a spruce up (carpet all bubbled up). None of this would deter me away next time we are in Palmy :)

The overall ambiance of Coachman was great. The staff's hospitality was good, From check-in to check-out, every interaction was marked by professionalism. The breakfast was also Good. I would recommend Coachman to fellow travelers. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Palmy

Breakfast was awesome and very handy at venue and staff are very friendly. My room which had the kitchen was a good size and had a table to eat at. Staff at reception was amazing.

I thought both rooms we booked would have had kitchen facilities so disappointed that one room had no kitchen(sink, microwave or hot plate). A movie channel or children's channel would be great as being in Palmy and weather isn't always great we at times needed to be able to keep children occupied between events and they couldn't use pool as it was too cold. Also unheated outdoor pool, especially in Palmy, pool should be heated and Spa area needed to be cleaned more often or checked as we went for an evening spa and the people before us had used all the towels, a lot of water was missing and they had made a mess that we ended up cleaning. Bar/cafe being open during lunch time would be great too. Maybe also running breakfast to 11am since Cafe doesn't open for lunch or afternoon coffee.

Liked the overall experience. Room was nice and cozy. Bathroom was nice and clean. Front desk service was very welcoming. Love the underground parking. Will definitely be coming back sometime.

The milk pods are far too small for a decent cupa. Would be nice to be asked if I needed more milk when you cheek in. Was a problem with the elevator not working at the basement floor.

room was clean dry and warm beds were comfy and no springs could be felt staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful

pillows were not comfortable rooms we re not soundproof and we could hear kids early in the morning rooms definitely need a makeover they were looking pretty tired
