Wifi signal didn't reach my room; ended up having to change rooms... but the staff sorted this out very quickly and without any problem, and the signal was fine in the new room.

Spacious bedroom and closet. Friendly staff that showed us where to go and how to get around. Also great location. Metro next door and lots of buses and taxis.

We had to get out room changed, aircon and phone not working. They were quick, efficient and friendly about it. Also breakfast could be improved.

Good clean room, excellent breakfast, friendly and very helpful staff - truly wonderful. It's located close to the metro line that takes you straight to the city center and much of its best places to visit. During this trip, I slept in three different beds, the bed at El Retiro was by far the most comfortable. Abit short, but hey, it's Spain. ;)

The breakfast coffee machine. I was in another Catalonia hotel prior to this one and theirs was excellent. The coffee at El Retiro was among the worst I have had in a hotel. The rest of the breakfast was stellar, though, so I still enjoyed breakfasting here. And a coffee machine isn't too difficult to replace.

Catalonia El Retiro was a peaceful place to rest and I was able to sleep well. In addition I love that there was a basic fit gym a few minutes away and the metro as well. All the tourist attractions I wanted to visit were right off the number one blue line

I would have liked to have Gad the option to buy a small breakfast or coffee on the property. The 18 dollar breakfast was a bit pricey. However it looked delicious

+ Very nice and helpfull staff. + Bus stops, uderground, shops and restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. + Walking distance to the city centre (30mins) + Good value for money - Hotel definitely needs to be refubrished. Wallpapers and painting are quite old and dirty in places. - Bed wasn't very comfortable but acceptable +- No need to buy hotel breakfast as there are a lot of coffe shopes close enough to have a nice morning walk

From the foyer to the room all was perfect. The staff were excellent totally looked after us. We arrived early by bus from the coast and looked after our luggage and arranged for an earlier check in couldn't have asked for more. The staff who attended us Alvaro and Camilla were extremely professional and made us feel very welcome. The room was very accommodating and the bed was one of the best we have slept in all our yrs of travel. Will definatly us this company again. Thank you NH Madrid Sur.

Nothing not to like

As soon as I entered, the receptionist surprised me with his attention, very kind, he didn't make us wait long even though we were still the next in line and he explained things very well. He made us feel at home and that we can count on someone if we have any questions about our accommodation. The hotel did not take long to give us the rooms, there were 3 rooms.

The breakfast was very delicious though it lacked in diversity in 3 days i didnt had time to try everything. The room was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful when we had question. Overall it was an amazing experience.

LOVED the staff, suuuuuuper friendly, especially Alejandro! Room service was fast and efficient, and the mini bar had just the right amount of stuff

Some of the walls in my room were sort of “peeling off” not a big issue but very noticeable, the smart tv didn’t have access to internet, which was a bit disappointing, but again, not a big issue.

Eveverything was fantastic. I was very pleased with my stay. I booked last minute due to flight cancellation. They gave us a great room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great. Staff was super friendly. It is easily accesible by metro line, Pacifico stop. Lots of free toiletries. Huge bathroom.

Everything was amazing.
