Ilunion Atrium

Very nice hotel in a quiet business area of Madrid. Metro station was 15 minute walk away which made getting into the city centre easy and cheap. The hotel was under construction (restaurant and restrooms area in the lobby) but it didn't stop us from having a good vacation. We especially enjoyed the pool area and terrace bar which was really cozy in the evening. Also big thanks to Miguel who was the most awesome waiter and surprised us with daily specials which were not on the menu several times. The food at the terrace bar was very tasty and affordable. Breakfast buffet was great with many different options (we especially enjoyed the variety of egg dishes and different fruits). The room was big and clean. Only downside was that the room was quite dark, no ceiling light.

This is one of the few hotels with a pool, and with temperatures at 38 Celsius, it was delightful. The hotel is also very modern and I liked that they have an “inclusive” policy of hiring staff with disabilities. It’s a small thing, but details count, and the fruit water at the entrance for guests is a nice touch.

The location of the hotel is about 1.5 hours by walking to the centre of Madrid. By bus it’s 35 to 40 minutes. And to get the metro you need to walk about 17 minutes. So getting into the centre via public transport takes a while. You need to hire a car because then the centre is only 15 minutes away. The fitness room, in the summer, needs better air conditioning.

Everything. Starting from the room to the service, breakfast and facilities, everything was great. We would book again here coming back to Madrid.

There is a direct bus to the centre, which takes around 20min (during rush hour probably a bit more). It didn’t bother us that we were not super close to the centre, but for some people it might make a difference.

Great hotel, rooms are clean, the superior room was a really good size and layout, the views from the room where amazing. Breakfast was really good, enough choice for me and the made to order eggs were delicious! the hotel restaurant is also good. 15 min walk to the closes metro station.

The reasons I don’t give it a 10 are: some parts of the room needed a bit of touch up (scratches on furniture, bathroom needed a bit of up touch up as well), the buttons to flush the toiled seemed to be loose - although they did flush the toilet- but I always had a feeling everything would fall apart if I press to hard, plus you could always hear the water running- like the toilet tank was never full. We also asked for another pair of slippers and a bathrobe (only one in the room although we booked for 2) but we never got it. just a bit of freshening up the rooms would be great and make it perfect.

The staff at the bar/lounge area and the reception staff at check were very helpful and friendly. We also like the ease and security of parking on the underground garage, for a paid daily fee of course.

Early morning coffee was difficult to get when we left mid week, we went to the area it was at to find only decaf as an option. When brought to the attention of the staff working the reception desk that morning, they said that what was there is what was left by their colleague that sets up the coffee service. Sorry. We went back to our room and made tea before checking out. No coffee was provided in the room.

The hotel has a modern style and well equipped with everything we need to have a very relaxing stay. The beds and pillows are comfortable, the room was always clean and orderly everytime we came back. They have a gym which is very clean. and has all the equipments I need to do my quick morning workouts. The Ilunion staffs are very friendly and always ready to help us. They even offered us a room upgrade for a small addition if we like it,.. And ofcourse l, I grabbed it! 😀 We requested for picinic breakfast for 2 days because we had to leave very early in the morning for some booked trips. They packed us a compete brunch basket to bring with us. I will not mention specific names of their staffs because i believe everyone was very nice and helpful. Location is not that far from the city, there is a bus stop (Bus 53) near the hotel that will take you directly to the city center.

Hotel had a smart modern décor. The bed was king size and we found it to very comfortable (not too hard or soft) and provided a good nights sleep. The room size was better than expected for a city hotel with plenty of space for relaxing in. Food at breakfast was to a good standard and staff were friendly. Pool and sunbathing area was a good size. The length of the pool wasn't too short, about 15m, making it suitable for swimming easily. The hotel reception has a nice open atrium. The hotel has three elevators, which meant you didn't have wait too long for one to become available.

Some of the public spaces were under maintained. For example the toilets and shower rooms were not cleaned everyday and soap dispensers not replenished. The pool area flooring was a little dirty too. When ordering food and drinks from the bar, the staff were friendly, but the service was a little slow and disorganized, We ordered food and drinks at the same time, but had to return to the bar to request the drinks they had forgotten.

Breakfast, cleanliness, polite staff, and the area around. There is direct access from the airport with the bus 200. Access to city with bus 53 or metro 10 min walk. Almost busieness area around aeay from city crowdness. Tthe breakfast was very good with fresh fruits,juice,eggs,waffels.... you can als ask for any type of baked egg like scrambeld or etc. They can speak english. You should know this series of hotel support people with dificulties to work so... thanks them alll

Air conditioning during our stay was working but as the Hotel population increased or the day was warm it took time to cool down. Its not a negativ point from my point of view but a little Bizzare..

I loved that the hotel was close and within walking distance to the mall. There is also a bus stop not far from the entrance. The inside of the hotel is not what you would expect by looking at the outside. The decor is very contemporary and stylish. The rooms are very large. The mattress is very soft and comfortable. The view from the balcony is amazing! Great value! Didn't coat an arm and a leg. I was even able to upgrade.

I didn't like that the air conditioner wasn't working properly. It's too hot in Madrid this time of year to have the A/C not cooling the room.

We travelled as a family of six. Our rooms were close to each other. The hotel staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was always amazing with a wide variety of foods- fried eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, breads, cheeses, lots of fruits, pastries, cakes, fresh fruit juice, tea, coffee, bacon, sausages and a lot more. The kids enjoyed the pool but the water was quite cold even on a very hot day. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The air-conditioner worked very well.

The rooms were generally clean but the bathroom tiles need a bit of scrubbing as some parts are black with mould. I used the complimentary toothbrush to give the tiles in our room a quick wash but the hotel needs to pay more attention to this.
