Casa Emilio

Our choice was dictated by having an appointment at a dental clinic 75m away on the same street and Casa Emilio was perfect for us in this respect - we were looking for a clean hotel, a comfortable night's sleep and breakfast - and were not disappointed. There were no 'frills', but we hadn't been led to expect any, but staff were welcoming and helpful and coped well with our lack of Spanish - the breakfast from the cafeteria was perfect. Had we not been there for the dental appointment we would still have found Casa Emilio an excellent base for visiting Murcia - the park opposite, Jardín de Floridablanca, is a lovely green urban space and there is much to see within a short walk of the hotel. The heart of the city is minutes away and we would recommend Casa Emilio as an excellent base for a short visit to Murcia.

We found the hotel easily enough, but finding parking was a nightmare, with many circuits of the local streets before finding a temporary slot to give us time to ask for advice at the hotel. The receptionist recommended Aparcamurcia Cuartel, which was secure, supervised and shaded - and only a short, level, walk from the hotel; we'd recommend this as your SatNav destination for Casa Emilio - €14 for about 20 hours parking. I can't remember the exact max height, but our VW Transporter T5 was well under. The other thing we didn't like were the crinkly, sweaty, plastic mattress protectors - horrible things.

The location of the property is great for exploring the city. The staff were all very friendly and we liked the fact you could have breakfast or a drink on site. The hotel was always kept clean.

Our room was supposed to have a garden view but we looked straight out onto another building so the curtain was always kept closed. Our request for extra pillows was not forthcoming and I hadn´t realised there was no hairdryer in the room.

Location is great, staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast as perfectly adequate.

Unfortunately the guesses in the room next to us were very noisey and inconsiderate. whilst this was nothing to do with the hotel, it may be that the walls are quite thin. Hopefully we were just unlucky with our neighbours. It did not stop us getting a good nights sleep!

Super friendly and accommodating. Nice and clean, comfy beds and café on ground floor. Let me leave my bag until check in..

There wasn't anything that I didn't like it's more of an observation. No English speaking TV but then why should they, we're in Spain.

The owner and staff were helpful and pleasant. Location was good for the concert venue, just a 12 minute walk. 24 hour reception and a small and good little bar.

Limited close car parking.

The staff in Casa Emilio are what really make it a great place to stay. Super friendly and helpful. Great with the kids. Location as well is fantastic, close to the river and the Cathedral and right opposite a wonderful park. Great little restaurant serving traditional Spanish platos conbinados at very good prices.

Room (s) did smell a little musty. We stayed here twice and both rooms smelled the same. Certainly not a deal breaker, but they could do with a freshen up.

Very clean. Comfortable bed.

Lots of road works going on right outside the hotel so very noisy. Not the fault of the hotel though

Location was perfect. Close to historic downtown and the train station. My room was basic but enough for what i needed

convenient for travel and especially city centre.
