The View Lugano

What did I not like about the property! I liked everything. EVERYTHING! my friend and I thought to rent a car for ease of movement around Lugano, but we ended up taking the train. Lo and behold, they have these smart cars in the hotel, that they lend to you FOR FREE!! and after we checked out and asked if we can borrow the car again, they said “of course you can” so polite, so accommodating. The View was insanely beautiful from our room, I didn’t want to leave the room because I wanted to stay in the comfort of my beautiful room and watch the view and get all the endorphins and happy feels from the view. The price is high but it’s totally justified. And the staff is just so courteous and amazing. I highly recommend staying at this hotel, and I hope to visit again soon.

The view, room setup, food and finishing touches

Poor wifi throughout the stay and air con was not that strong, however we stayed at the height of summer temperatures...

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way to help and make our stay special. We were extremely impressed with how genuine they were and just so happy to help. It really made the stay super special. The food was absolutely excellent quality. Top notch. Loved the organic eggs for breakfast. Cooked to perfection. Rooms were spacious and incredibly clean. Loved the bed linen and great pillow menu too. .

We had to pay for taxis to and from hotel which was quite expensive. Actually it was very expensive for us. Shame the hotel didn’t have a complimentary shuttle service for guests

The walls of the room are not very sound proof - You can hear the conservations happening in the next room. Worse, you can hear almost everything happening next door including intimate stuff. This itself is bad enough to not visit again.

Quite new building with very beautiful rooms, exeptional breakfast. Definately worth to visit. Electrical car for clients for free - first time we met it and it was really nice experience!

Some technical issues are unplesent: - toilet ventilatsion switches on with light, with timer. Surprising that they doesn't have central ventilation in toilet at all. But worst thing - it makes noise, more than 40dBA and it is very annoing at night time than using the toilet - cooling system makes even more noise, more than 45 dBA, not possible to use at all. In EU standard has max noise level allowed 35dBA in living area..... Looks that the money was spent for design but not fór tecnical solutions :-)

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had lots of space with a beautiful view of the lake. The spa looked great but there was so much to explore around us that we just didn't get the time to use it. The option of having complimentary use of electric car and cycle if needed was a valuable add on, albeit we were too busy to use them on this visit.

The View is appropriately named; even with a construction crane parked in front of our garden, the view still was lovely. The room service was good food. Breakfast buffet excellent fresh vegetable juices and gluten free yummy desserts!

The spa was under staff possibly due opening up after Pandemic closures. My massage therapist was juggling giving a new guest a tour , checking in and started my massage 10 minutes late. It was a bit stressful especially considering the price for a massage.

we were in junior suite and the room very comfortable, clean with balcony and view on Lugano lake. the hotel also provide some customization of the stay, type of pillows, gestures, breakfast in the room,etc.

while it is on hill a bit away from the city, the hotel provides electric smart cars which made it very convenient to move around Lugano. no extra charge for the smart cars.

Our room had a single key. An actual key, not the card ones. A disclaimer in our room pointed out that if the key is lost, we would have to pay 1000 francs! That was a little stressful.

The view is exceptional! Pool is lovely and quite big with very view people visiting it. Spa was wonderfull, very relaxing, both sauna and treatments. We had dinner there 5 nights. Super menu and very nice flex to be able to eat from the restaurant and bistro menu. Very good wine list and sommelier! We tried some wonderful new wines and had some lovely discoveries. Wonderful flex for kids food - they could chose what they wanted regardless of the menu. It’s a great place to climb the San Salvatore. We received wonderful tourist advice from the reception and the use of the Smarts was practical and easy (though only one available with four seats). Atmosphere in the pool and restaurant was relaxing.

The rooms have a stunning view but they are unnecessary complex when it comes to lights (bathroom light automatically turns on at night). I had to work one morning and very impractical seating for working behind computer. I also felt service could take quite long at times while it was very quiet. Only one smart available for four people.
