Hotel Besso Lugano Center

Location is good. Exit from Lugano train station (go towards platform 4A, until the very end exit to the road, walked another 2 min will reach the hotel). Buffet bfast at CHF10 is good.

the pillow is too soft, heater is not so warm.

Perfect location! Walking distance of 3 minutes from the train to the hotel, bus station just at the hotel which was very convenient. Great continental breakfast at a reasonable price for family. Got the titchino tickets which saved us a lot. Only the bed pillows were really soft. The bathroom bathtub should have curtains as lot of water gets out. If you are in the 4 th floor you will be able to see the lake from the huge balcony. Would love to have a mini bar in the bedroom, furniture was old but I would take it for the price. It’s just perfect for the price and location, 5 min from Lugano center, enjoyed our stay & will stay there again.

The pillows were really really soft. Would be nice if there is an option of mini bar in the room.

Amazing experience staying at hotel casa peron. The location is perfect, it’s just a few minutes walk to/from train station and also a bus to the centre right outside the house. Perfect location especially if you train around as accomodation right in the centre you would have to walk up a lot of stairs to the station. Breakfast was great, staff were lovely. The room was nice and quite. Biggest Bonus was getting a travel card and being able to take trains in busses around the area for free! Would highly recommend staying here and would come again.

A kettle in the room would have been nice addition but not a necessity.

The staff was very welcoming, kind and extremely available to help with anything we needed. The location is superb: near the train station and one of the stops for the bus lines. The room was clean and spacious and the beds very comforable. We even had a fan to help with the heat, as the double rooms are not equiped with air conditioning. The city tax that we had to pay at the place includes the ticino ticket for the duration of the stay. We were also able to leave our luggage at the hotel after check out, which was extremely helpful and convenient!

Hotel is close to Lugano main Train station. Easy 5-7 minutes' walk from train station. Room was nice size and had Air Conditioning, which is very important during our stay (as the weather was very hot in Lugano). Beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was a good take-out Thai restaurant right next to the hotel, so that was convenient and tasty food.

The only way to wash was to sit in the tub, as there's no curtain to prevent the water from spilling out of the tub.

We decided last minute to go to Lugano for a long weekend. This was the only room I could find in Booking. Probably not the best room in the hotel, as it was the last one left, but it was not a bad room nevertheless. The hotel is very closed to the station, what is very convenient if you plan to move by public transport. They provide the Lugano ticket to the guests. The room had a balcony and a blind, which is something I appreciated much. The view was good (mountains). The bathroom was spacious and had a bidet and a shower. Other rooms have bathtube, from what I could see. The room was very clean. The breakfast is good, specially for the price. Staff is very friendly.

The bed (and the duvet) was a bit small for 2 people, but we are not too big. It could have been challenging for an XL couple. The room was close to the lift which was extremely noisy (maybe only in our room). We could not hear other rooms, but the people in the corridors we could hear very clearly.

Very close to train station, so easy to go anywhere with the Ticino ticket. Friendly staff who were always helpful and always available. Nice view from the hotel room (view over the mountains), comfortable beds and large bathroom. Fast wifi. I recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Lugano or the Ticino region in general since the hotel is located so close to the train station so any city city, mountain or valley is within your reach!

Easy and simple Hotel. Location is superb, about 2 minutes from the train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms provided everything that was needed. Beds werd exceptionally comfortable.

The only thing that was „negative“, are the thin walls. You can easily hear the street traffic, even with closed doors and windows. But by putting earplugs in, the problem is easily solved :)

the property il greatly located just a few minutes walk above the main station. it is very practical. A bit old fashioned but clean, well maintained and functional. the staff is very friendly and helpful. better price than other properties in town for me it was perfectly located for where I needed to be.

it can be a little noisy on the main road

Good hotel in a great location convenient to the train station. My room was very nice, with a view of the mountains & even some of Lugano. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Room was clean. Honestly think this hotel should have a better average rating than it does. Price is pretty good for what you get, considering this is Switzerland after all.

The breakfast was good but perhaps not quite worth 10 francs per morning. There was supposedly another option for 4 francs for a more basic continental breakfast, but it wasn't quite clear what the difference was between that and the full 10 franc breakfast, unless perhaps that the full breakfast included the cheese and cold cuts & the 4 franc one didn't.
